August is just around the corner and there are already plenty of new titles headed to Nintendo Switch, including the roguelite platforming action of Dead Cells. The 'roguevania' indie is already available via Early Access on Steam, but it'll be getting a full release everywhere on 7th August.
Developer Motion Twin has also teamed up with publisher Merge Games to bring a physical edition (including a cool 'Signature Edition') to retail as well just in time for its release on digital platforms.

Check out the announcement date trailer above and let us know what you think of Dead Cells. Will you be picking up this lil' indie next month?

Very much looking forward to this on the Switch. I hope the port will be a'okay, then I'll definitely snag it right away.
It certainly looks awesome, but I'm just not into the whole Rogue mechanic.
I tried several of these on the Switch already and quit all of them because of frustration.
I've been waiting for it but I haven't actually seen it in motion before now. Wow, that is fluid.
I'm glad I have a personal "no Early Access" policy.
One of my most anticipated games. Looks terrific!
I'll be on this like flies on sh... well, you know the rest!
Day one download for me. There's a game that looks kind of similar called Chasm that I'll be picking up for PS4 as well. It's on Vita so it may get ported to Switch.
Had no idea what this was, so clicked on the trailer. Holy crap, now I’m impressed.
A really awesome job from the buddy Sébastien Bénard.
His game is like the wine of his region (Bordeaux) DELICIOUS !
Saw the price for the physical edition, pre-ordered on the Nintendo eShop instantly instead It's 20% off for an eShop pre-order, totalling 20 euro on the EU eShop. I'll take that over a 35 euro physical edition.
Really nice that they're getting one though, the game looks absolutely phenomenal.
No way will this be as good as Hollow Knight.
Pre-ordered Physical right now
@BensonUii Erm it does say in the article

@BensonUii Bunkerneath already replied to you, but yeah, it says so in the article
Retail edition already preordered. Absolute stunner. Played more than 40hrs on the pc version already, will easily play double or triple that on my Switch. What a game
One of the indies I have been waiting for. Glad that we finally have a solid release date.
Wowsers, that looks stunning. Was not expecting anything that good when I hit play.
I'll stick with Rogue Legacy
@VigilThief
I agree if you are referring to the rogue like genre.
But this is rogue lite, not rogue like.
So your character gets stronger overtime and you can usually unlock permanent upgrades.
I don't enjoy rogue like games such as enter the gungeon or binding of isaac, but I played Rogue Legacy which is a rogue lite and I had tremendous fun.
Sigh... another damn game I'm more than likely gonna end up buying. Slow down with these Nintendo. I-- I have a backlog😕
May be worth taking a punt on this with the pre order discount. Heard good things about it
A physical edition? is it my birthday? -checks- Oh, it's 15 days later, close enough!
I have this on PC (have yet to play) but I'm more likely to play it on my Switch so I'll probably be double dipping.
@Rhaoulos
It's the combination of permadeath and procedurally generated content which gives me the feeling I'm making no progress at all.
Permanent upgrades don't help alleviate that problem nearly enough for me.
One thing I don’t like about this type of games is the procedurally generated levels. All feels random (because it is) and can become frustratingly difficult.
Nothing gets close to manually designed levels.
Anyway, it looks great so I’ll probably end up buying it and stopping playing it after a few hours and pulling the hairs out of my head out of frustration.
I've got so many games on my wishlist now and still loads to finish I've already downloaded. I think I'm near the end on Steamworld Dig so that should free up a space.
Awwww man I just bought it on Steam and it’s coming physical too! 😣
this is a real game.
just clarifying because theres several people here who dont know what one of those looks like.
@VigilThief
I perfectly understand how frustrating it can be.
But in the case of a good Rogue lite, you can see death as a way to evolve your character by spending money or exp and going way further everytime into the game. Rogue legacy was great in this way.
