The knockabout weapon physics are still the series' best, but that CPU rubber banding... Sometimes it seems the CPU forgets it's caught up to you and before you know it they're half a lap in front of you with no way of catching them 😂 otherwise, it's a rollicking good time.
It's a gorgeous thing, just don't acidentally pop a 240 volt power supply in it, as the safety fuse doesn't always protect it... as I found out. Mine is now just a very nice looking ornament 😂
My earliest memory of Zelda (I was about 11/12 at the time) was watching an old school friend playing this strange looking platform game where his character swung a sword, at head height, or knee height. He was in a palace, apparently, and having difficulty killing the "boss" of said palace, asked if I wanted a go. So I did. After getting to grips with the combat, and being delighted that pushing down in mid-air made the character stab downwards, I managed to kill the boss. Barba, its name was. Big dragon thing. Pain in the ass to kill. But kill it I did. I knew I needed to carry on playing this game, so my mate and I teamed up to carry on. Never did finish it, mind, and the Nintendo Hotline was useless when we rang 'em. Didn't have the maps, it seemed 😂.
It was Zelda 2, it was my first Zelda, and I still love the thing today.
The Super Mario 3 run with mitchflowerpower and TheHaxor was great to watch, particularly a fan of TheHaxor's demeanour as he runs. I need to catch up on a lot of the event, but I did also enjoy the Majora's Mask, Mischief Makers, GTA3, and Paper Mario runs muchly. Yes. And $2.9mil isn't to be sniffed at!
I still PERSONALLY believe that Link To The Past is the most perfectly constructed and fat free Zelda out there, and remains my favourite to this day. But I love Zelda 2 to bits as well so what do I know 😂
Just about all 50 are absolute classics in my book, and shows just how many SNES games utterly hit the spot. You could probably add another 30-40 top notch games to the list too before running out of excellence.
Shall keep an eye on this fer sure. My only thing with it was it all seemed a bit too floaty-light. Nothing seemed to have any heft to it. If that makes sense...
My only concern here is that it claims (well, "suggests") the official dock causes "overheating" - why put such a thing in, unless you're trying to sort of goad/trick folk in to backing this.
At my last count, and given my collection dates back to 1992, I have 104 SNES/SFC games in my collection. And an awful lot of them are Very Good Indeedâ„¢
Something something "not what I personally want" something something snide remark because it's "not what I personally want" something something clever retort because it's "not what I personally want" something something jump on the hate bandwagon because...oh sod this.
I agree they should be treated differently. "Pro" players found cheating should also pay a fine related to the money they earn in order to set a better example to those steamers who may be thinking of going pro.
Got this on PC, and for the money it's an absolute cracker of a rhythm game. The music is brill, the neon hued graphics hit the spot and it provides a good challenge.
If it's the NTSC version of Mario Kart in this lot, the CPU karts don't actually cheat/rubber band against you - if you're good enough you can amass a whopping lead, and even lap them (but they will rubber band against each other, oddly). It was the weirdly "optimised" PAL version that saw them get a bit cheaty at times
I've only ever had the disc read error on dual layer discs for the Wii.
My Panasonic Q stopped working, but that's a) not really Nintendo hardware, and b) entirely my fault for slapping a 240 volt power supply in to it - not even the safety fuse saved it 😂
One thing I forgot while playing this recently is that in water, where there are spikes above you, you can let go of the d-pad to float up to the spikes and they won't harm you unless you press "up." Handy in a certain final palace cough
The LttP/Super Metroid run from the GDQ it was in was amazing, if only for the unfortunate (and hilarious) placement of one item in Ganon's Tower, that required Andy and OatsNGoats go explore for an extra hour and a half when it looked like the run was actually going to wrap up quite quickly.
MSR minus the "cars welded to the track" physics I'd be up for. The final race of Chapter 25 in that game was something else, still have vivid memories of having to pause it half way through to calm myself down.

It's for the best.

Totally unexpected, but my word, such a good choice.
That's the presenter choices nailed, let's now hope the content does it all justice.

Hands up if you have a Panasonic Q that you killed when you popped in a 240v plug in error, and the safety fuse didn't do its job... ...
Just me then?
Oh cries in burnt circuitry

Re: Feature: Treasure Games That Need Switch Ports Or Sequels
Gradius V plz. I did enjoy that on Ye Olde Ps2e.
Re: Feature: Best Game Boy Color (GBC) Games
No Cannon Fodder in the list what now? In all seriousness, the GBC port was fantastic given the hardware it was on.
Re: Devolver Digital Reportedly Planning To Go Public With IPO At Around £1 Billion

The Super Metroid race should be an absolute sight to behold.
Also MISCHIEF MAKERS omg.
Re: Switch Rating For Borderlands 3: Director's Cut Was Apparently An "Error"
Yeaaaah, it's a bit of a clusterf-ruitcake on the One S, so lord knows how they could strip it back well enough for the humble Switch.
Re: Feature: Best NES Games
No Faxanadu? I am doin a sad.
Re: Best Game Boy / Game Boy Color RPGs
I can't believe Animorphs hasn't made the list*
*I totally can. Although, the speedruns of it by Keizaron at GDQ are hilarious.

Could do with one for my US SNES seeing as it's a bit yellow and has a ruddy great hole in one side 🙄

@noswitchbutidc EXACTLY like Sonic and Knuckles xD

I have two heh. Both PAL ones though, and they do look a little silly sat on top a convertor cartridge in my US SNES.

Ahhh. So that's why my Switch kept displaying a "could not thingummy do-dah DNS server" error.

Metroid Prime 4.

Also, the joycons vibrate like there's something wrong with 'em when the tremors hit 😂
