2Awesome Studio has announced that Lost Wing will be speeding and blasting its way onto Switch at the end of this month.
Originally planned to release last year, Lost Wing's development was extended thanks to community feedback given during a closed beta. It may well have put the game on hold for a while, but the result is "more tracks, more modes, more ships, and more speed" than ever before.
"With Lost Wing, we wanted to mix the speed of the Wipeout series with shooting gameplay inspired on Tempest and the tension-aggression feeling of games like Thumper," says Tim Ash, Director of BoxFrog Games. "In the end, Lost Wing is better than the sum of it parts, a shot of pure unadulterated adrenaline."

Lost Wing Features:
- Three worlds, four types of tracks, several difficulty modes and infinite hours of gameplay.
- Feel the adrenaline rush at intense speeds and slow-down time when it's getting a little too close for comfort.
- High Definition Neon Sci-Fi atmosphere
- Unlock multiple ships and upgrade them with power ups.
- Show your might and destroy the megabosses
-Compete against other players on the online leaderboards.
- Focus on the acceleration infused original electronic soundtrack.

The game launches on Switch on 31st July, and if you pre-order the game during the two weeks leading up to its launch, you'll be able to pick it up at 10% off.

This looks like as if Star Fox's landmaster was an arwing with it flying so low to the ground.
This looks rad! Keeping an eye on this for sure!
Didn’t the 3DS get these types of speed tunnel games all the time?
Getting a Zaxxon vibe 😍
I miss Wipeout ....
“Mix of Wipeout, Tempest and Thumper...”
Oh Bank Manager 💵
Hmm I need more speed!! Back to F-Zero GX - forced 480p with Swiss through a Carby HDMI adapter and mClassic Intelligent upscaler for me. Can’t believe how good it looks and Still plays like a dream. It will tie me over until F-Zero GX HD with online multiplayer comes along.
This isn't really anything like a Wipeout game - it looks great - but it's much more of a 3D Sh'mup.
I'm definitely curious, but mentioning Wipeout is definitely somewhat misleading.
Closest I've seen to the wipeout inspired game from the Cyberdelia scene in the movie hackers. I'll def pick this up when it comes out haha.
@beazlen1 A person who's after my own heart
The fixed camera does not do it justice. Loose, fluid trailing tail cam would have made this more Wipeout like.
Hi everyone, first of all thanks to Nintendo Life for covering the launch of our game!
@Sean161 @brunojenso is right, Lost Wing is a speed shooter not a racer like Wipeout. The game is inspired in Wipeout due to the choice of pods to race and shoot and the ability to accelerate and brake (something not normally found on a shooter). In the end it's a mix of many elements and it's difficult to classify Lost Wing as solely a shooter or a racer as it's a mix of both.
@spirit_flame while we agree that a trailing cam would give it a more cinematic feeling considering the type of gameplay and the need for precision and shooting it would have made the game harder to play.
@beazlen1 I love F Zero, but I could never get into GX. I came back to it several times over the years but it just never clicked as well as the original and X.
Shall keep an eye on this fer sure. My only thing with it was it all seemed a bit too floaty-light. Nothing seemed to have any heft to it. If that makes sense...
It looks like a shmup to me, so i'll buy.
I like the look of this. I already have a couple of good racers though, I'd need a demo to swing me on this one.
Amazing! But only one player?!
Looks kinda like a endless shooter on a cell phone.
This game looks really good and fun, but now I'm really wanting Tempest X3 (the awesome PS1 game) and wipEout 64 (redone like Star Wars Episode 1 Racer) on Switch!
@Sean161 nope! But got me to click the video 😂
@theberrage mission accomplished! 😂
Wish they would put actual Wipeout(s) on the Switch.
This looks like a good one! Mixing racer and shmup sounds like a fun combo. I’ll check it out.
