The price itself doesn't make much sense. Instead of bringing down the New 3DSXL to 169.99 with the New 3DS sometimes retailing for 100 and the Mario Kart bundle 2DS for 80, they bring a souped-up 2DS for 150? Makes no sense.
@CheezIt My exact thoughts. I think that unless they are planning a new Pokemon game or a new mainstream Mario game (Mario galaxy will be welcome), that they are looking at 20-25 million sales, tops.
@JaxonH Often sell 10-15 million? That is not correct. Usually heavy hitters are 5-8 million. Sun and Moon are one the highest 3DS sellers (I think equal or just behind Mario Kart), as well as other main Pokemon 3DS games, but that's it.
I doubt they will reveal anything about a possible 3DS successor or that the Switch is taking over handheld duties. There are many 3DS games coming up, so that will surely lower the sales a bit.
@Andyv01 Nope, the ports shouldn't wait. Then, they become irrelevant for the most cases. Nintendo must issue clear guidelines for making/porting games to the Switch. Plain and simple.
@JaxonH The only thing I'm a bit concern is ports from old game. I think that it hurt the Wii U, having several ports of old games. But they were for the most part AAA titles. Still, this does not apply to indies: if you game sucks, it won't sell. Period.
@ThomasBW84 I feel that yes, the anonymity was warranted (we are talking Nintendo here), so no need to apologize. The issue is there: high profile game developers shunt away from the Nintendo Switch. Maybe, some developers that now don't wanna anything to do with Nintendo can be quoted?
@Billsama You are missing the point. Either you didn't bother to read the article complete or you are a Nintendo employee on disguise. First, Nintendo wouldn't comment on these issues. Nintendo is no Sony or Xbox where a representative would be calling NL right now to get the record straight.
Secondly, we are talking about Nindies and Indies with highly regarded games, as Thomas put it. It is shameful the situation with Axion Verge as the game has been highly praised, and rightfully so, on many platforms including Nintendo's own.
Nintendo, at least put a Switch on every developer eager to work with you. Plain and simple. Is the game is not to standards, reject it and move on. Make clear rules that apply to everyone. Game developers are going to shun the Switch because of this.
@Lizuka The problem with shovelware on the eShop is that the amount of info on display can make you buy a game that is underwhelming. For example, lack of demos on many, many games, plus lack of videos in many games also. A much more robust eShop is needed so good games stand a chance against mindless drivel (looking at you RCDMAX, or whatever you are called!).
@Bsham Have you forgotten the 3DS? If anyone can do it in an inexpensive manner (think 200 or less) is Nintendo and Apple (Apple could do it for 200 but it will sell it for 699).
As someone already pointed out, the physics look a bit off. Also, his "stride", the length of its steps while running is freakishly long. Its like his legs are twice the length of its upper body. Finally, I love the graphics, they seem to be taken a page from Zelda BoW, but Sonic lacks a bit of personality: he looks great when propelled into the air but while running why he doesn't smile or change his expression a bit while hitting an enemy. It looks too wooden for my (acquired) taste.
@Moon Milk is vile. We are the only species that drink milk after our infancy. Milk is used to get a mammal (which are the weakest animals) up in their feet in a few days/weeks. As soon as I hit 40, my doctor advised me never to drink it, unless a bit with coffee.
For me , the Wii U version was a solid 9.After they released the dlc, which I bought right away I felt that the game was a 10, even though Battle Mode was underwhelming.
Still, had it been a 40 bucks game, yes, then the Switch version clearly deserved a 10, but as it is a 8.5 in my book. In other reviews, NL has lowered the score based on either the price or that it had been released on other platforms before. So, why change now?
It doesn't make any sense, unless Nintendo is bargaining on having the Switch selling at 300 bucks (still) and the SNES at 80 or less, as a stock filler. I can see that, but I hope it doesn't distract people form the Switch and the Switch VC, which should be in place by then (hopefully).
@Danpal65 You haven't been paid too much attention, haven't you? When said companies release an enhanced version of their games, they do it at 50-67% of the cost of the original, not 100% like Nintendo.
The only thing I'm pissed about (I bought two, one is in its box still) is that Reggie lied to us, saying that many more will come.
@Plywoodstick: How can you consider the NES mini was for raising public awareness when I didn't see one unit on a shelf, nor a single TV ad? That is just misleading!!
It was really an unfortunate choice of words (about the Steam comment) but we don't know the exact reason why the couldn't get the game running properly (even though those whom have bought it say is OK). One thing is certain, they are releasing a game on the Switch early on and sometimes is not that easy to have a game running perfectly. Remember the other developer saying that Nintendo didn't provide them with a developer unit? Maybe these guys received late into the game developing.
Let's give them the benefit of the doubt: maybe they were tired, maybe they were pissed of at Nintendo, or maybe they didn't catch the bug in time and are hard at work on a patch.
I must admit that I've found the games so far in the Switch rather disappointing but I guess it was the same when the PS$ and Xbox One came out. So, I;'m holding out 'till Black Friday or X-mas to commit to a Switch,
@stevenw45 Somehow I missed that bundle in the US (I bought more than 30 Wii units -supplied a shop with them- and never caught a glimpse of a Wii console bundled with hardware or a pro controller. Ever).
The only console bundled with hardware that I've seen is the Wii U bundled with Mario Maker that included an amiibo. 'Nuff said.
@stevenw45 Still doesn't make sense what you said.
First, this is an stylized, real fighter (heavily anchored on teh fantasy realm, of course). Mario and the other just wouldn't fit with the aesthetics on display.
Second, these are all anthropomorphic characters. Kirby and the others wouldn't fit.
Also, Nintendo has never bundled hardware with their consoles. Ever (well , not since the Gamecube); also, Nintendo accessories rarely go down in price: you have to wait like 3-4 years for that, by looking at the controls for both the wii and the wii U. Also, the case could disappear soon from retailers and the pro controller has been absent for most US retailers so I jumped at it (thinking about buying an extra pro controller) because Amazon received new stock.
EDIT: having said this, I wouldn't mind a Bayonetta DLC, since her hair could double as arms in the game.
Great to hear that we are getting 10 fighters at least. Ws hoping for a 12-15 roster tho. Still, this game has been on my radar since they announced it. I'm just hoping for Cable Guy and Spaghetti Sap to make their appearance.
I don't have a Switch but planning on buying one, specially if a bundle comes around Black Friday or something. Already bought a pro controller and a Zelda case!
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Nintendo won't do a price cut in the foreseable future. that's how (mistakenly) they like to roll.
By Black Friday I at least expect them to sell some bundles: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundles and Splatoon 2 bundles. Also, a red Switch on X-mas to coincide with Mario Odyssey (which I don't like).
Anyone with even a passing interest in action games should pick this up. It is a lot of bang for the buck and these guys should be commended for keeping their word on a Wii U release (looking at you, Playtonic!).
This is the type of games I want on the Switch. Then, I can sit my son with his friends (even if I have to buy Switches for everyone), instead of them playing against each other in Call of Duty or Destiny.
@Amsterdamsters Right 90%. Not when they release so few units (2 MM, really?). Also, there is not an online merchant in the US that has it, just scalpers. How many of these units were sold to scalpers? There is a guy in eBay selling it for 450, and claims that has 10+ units and has sold more than 90 units!!
I really wanted to have a better score (at least 6). It read in my mind as a 6, though. I hope they have a demo of sorts and that they addressed some kind of glitter or shine for objects (a la Left 4 Dead).
Also, the Resident Evil games didn't come up with the survival horror genre (they arguably made it popular). I think it was a game on the SNES where u go into a mansion and battle ghouls and ghosts. It had really good scares but I just can't remember teh title of the game.

b) Have a box art without some other racers on the front.
c) Plus everything other's have said.
