Re: Rocket League Now Has More Than 50 Million Players Worldwide

@Dalarrun I was simply trying to give you the reasons that they don't do cross play and also behaving in the general way that people seem to behave on this site. I don't really think Sony's fan base cares about cross play.

I don't care if you criticize Sony, in fact I don't really care for the fact that they release the Ps4 pro or Microsoft releasing their mid generation upgrade to. I don't like that Sony is now also making micro money grab consoles. I don't like a lot of stuff about Sony. I just find it funny that everyone settled on cross play like it's the worst thing ever.

Honestly I enjoy discussions with people I don't agree with, even though nowadays the minute you disagree with an echo chamber you're called "sore" or have feelings projected on you. Nice conversation man. ^^

@serendipitiful https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/09/guide_nintendo_switch_online_faq_-everything_you_need_to_know-_pricing_cloud_saves_nes_games

I don't know why. All you have to do is go to the front page and click it anyway. I just checked and it's still there.

EDIT: It won't work as a url tagged link for some reason so copy and paste or just scroll down on the main page of this site. I didn't originally put it in as a hot link anyway so I'm not sure why that happened.

Re: Rocket League Now Has More Than 50 Million Players Worldwide

@gortsi except that's what your whole response has been. You brought up the 80s when there was no internet. They had no link to cross play. It did with calling your friends on the telephone. Hence my comment. I'll even admit that the nostalgia of actually using a phone is an interesting thing for Nintendo to play with, and would be kind of cool if that wasn't the only option.

As for the rest, you didn't even mention cross play to me and you ignored every bit of my other comment in order to go after someone saying their friends who ALL own PS4s were upset at Sony because they couldn't play with him on the Switch could be an exaggeration. You're the one insisting that Sony users are upset about cross play, the burden of proof is on you and person anecdotes aren't proof.

I don't get why people need to be so outraged about everything nowadays. Sony never promised anyone cross play and they don't have to give it, just like almost everyone here said Nintendo doesn't have to do this or that. It's really that simple.

It's ironic that one of the articles here told people to stop complaining about what was wrong with Nintendo's online service and the next day there's one attacking Sony over cross play for the fourteenth time.

It's just manipulative and clickbaity and seems to be the way this site is going.

Re: Rocket League Now Has More Than 50 Million Players Worldwide

@gortsi people do say that. Yet again what's your point? I don't even know how you're factoring last Gen as comparable to the 80s. I guess that's a personal anecdote?

A better comparison to the 80s would be the fact that you have to use a phone to chat with your teammates in first party Nintendo games except in the 80s Nintendo didn't charge you to call your friend on your phone.

Edit: also he didn't say he had a PS4 in first place. He said his friends who own PS4s were upset. That's like way more degrees of separation than the people who accuse me of simply not owning a Switch. It'd be like them saying my friends owned Switches and I was so jealous of them that I hated the Switch or some farfetched mess like that.

Re: Rocket League Now Has More Than 50 Million Players Worldwide

lordzand

@roboshort I do. Mostly this one tbh and another mostly Nintendo based one too. So yeah what's your point there? I'm not even defending their decision, and I wouldn't. I just don't see how the Nintendo fan base can throw stones while Nintendo's online service is basically the definition of a glass house now. Especially since PSNOW allows to actually download full fledged games and not ones made twenty years ago now. Oh and Ps2 games as well. We are waiting to see if Nintendo is even going to add SNES games meanwhile here.

@gortsi I don't know him. I don't know his friends. I don't know of they exist. Got it? The way this console wars go nowadays everyone makes a bunch of stuff up so I'll believe when I see people actually complain it who own a PS4 in first person thanks. The same way I wouldn't go to a Sony site and expect them to be fair to the Switch.

Also cross play hasn't even been a thing before this generation and we don't know if it will be after. I can tell you this, if Sony and Nintendo were swapped around, Nintendo wouldn't have cross play either. It's just the way they are. Now Microsoft I could see, since they're in the PC game anyway and even the Ps4 cross plays with it right? So they do cross play with Microsoft just not with a competing console.

EDIT: also apparently they count everyone who plays splitscreen in this as well which makes the cross play a bit redundant and this numbers also take into account PS Plus giving it away for free and humble bundles. So basically it was click bait to even mention the cross play.

Re: Soapbox: We Like To Grumble, But Nintendo Switch Online Is Actually A Very Generous Offer

lordzand

So it's still boiling down to we should be grateful Nintendo is taking our money AND giving us a FEW features for it instead of just taking our money anyway and doing nothing.

I'm sorry I'm not grateful when anyone takes my money and gives me little to nothing back. You can say it's cheap but that doesn't make it good. You can say you have to have it but that doesn't make it good. You can try to pass off games that are older than I am as a positive (and only ten of them at that) but that doesn't make it good. I'll stop there because I honestly haven't seen anyone say that the voice chat is good (well maybe one but some people are well some people).

In the end, for the millionth billionth time, no one is complaining about the cost, except in a cost benefit way as to what Nintendo is offering compared to what we had before. I and many many MANY others would have gladly payed the same price as their competitors for the same features and done so with little to no compliant. That is the issue here.

If you want to smear people, at least use facts.

Re: Cities: Skylines - A SimCity Successor That Struggles To Shine On Switch

lordzand

Omg it's still going. I find it hilarious that none of you can deal with someone having a different opinion than you. It is and always has been a ripoff of Simcity. It's never been a critically acclaimed must play title like some are claiming.

If it has performance issues on everything, that's not a defense. That makes it even worse that they continue to happen. If this had been a positive article you would all be mentioning this and attacking the reviewer as well.

It's the hive mind at work again.

Re: Cities: Skylines - A SimCity Successor That Struggles To Shine On Switch

lordzand

@Ensemen they only want that if it applies to the games they dislike that the reviewer likes. If the reviewer dislikes something they like then they want to know how many hours they played and whatever else will invalidate the review.

Here's an idea:use your brain to digest the actual review text. Learn reading comprehension guys and use it. Just because you disagree about framerate doesn't make it untrue that it lags. You can just as easily read the review and decide that's not something that would bother you and continue your purchase. For the person who is bothered by it, it's nice to know.

Re: Soapbox: Why I'm Not Excited About Playing NES Games On The Nintendo Switch

lordzand

No surprises here. Yet again, even though people will pretend that we are complaining about the price, the real problem is that we would gladly pay more for better features.

No one cares that it's $20; we care that it offers few features and attempts to pimp out the same games as always. It offers no new features that are wanted and hides things we already had behind a paywall.

Re: Random: Father Steals "Gameboy DS" From Prize Machine With Help Of His Daughter

lordzand

@BensonUii obviously this is completely wrong and Bandai should be held responsible for allowing these people to steal from Nintendo. This 3DS and Switch being taken from a machine that works hard for its money is absolutely indecent and everyone involved should be executed.

If they want a Nintendo product maybe they should just not eat for a few weeks and pull themselves up by their bootstraps. In my day, which hasn't started because I'm a child living with my parents who buy me video game consoles, you had to walk up hill both ways to sell your ass to be able to afford a game console.

People nowadays are so entitled, it's good that a majority of Nintendo products aren't bought by parents to shut up their whiny kids. /s

Re: Wireless NES Controllers Won't Work With Other Games On Nintendo Switch

lordzand

@UmbreonsPapa I think people who refer to that are mostly doing it because of current trends more so than anyone particular problem. It's not my place to pretend to know however.

As for the defense comment, there is absolutely a sector of our fan base that defends everything Nintendo does and moves to attack anyone who disagrees with any little thing. It's not hard to see if you read the comments, even if this site is mostly better than most of the other ones.
