@HeftyLaces I've most likely been gaming longer than you've been alive. I am at the stage of life where my income is finite whilst price rises for essentials are not. I can support one system and it's always Nintendo. I also use steam.
$100 or $150 off a new system would be huge for me. It's a matter of perspective. Ergo backwards compatibility is important to me.
All I'm saying is that we can't judge others' priorities by our own circumstances.
I'm not a huge Pokemon player tho I like Arceus. I've watched some game play of Pal. I find the art style a bit jarring with the realistic world filled with cartoonish critters.
But the part I didn't care for is beating these cartoonish critters with a stick or an axe to capture them. It just felt wrong. I know it's just a game but it didn't feel right. And guns. Ugh.
This is merely my take on it and no judgement on anyone who thinks it's great. Just not for me.
I'm busy with Immortal Life on my pro book, so I'm happy.
@-wc- One of my favourite games on the 3DS. I've always played it solo and had a blast. As others have said it's charming, good to look at. It also has a very snarky sense of humour, which I really like.
I still dig out my N2DS and play it. I think you'd enjoy it.
@FatBeverly I apologize as I didn't realise you were merely playing grown up, you wacky, random, not average bundle of fun! You keep sashay-ing, smirking, and believing you know anything about taste. (Horse Tales: Emerald Valley Ranch, anyone? Talk about simple!)
And some day, when you're a big girl, perhaps you won't feel the need to try so hard convincing strangers on the 'net how tough you are. I mean: how dare anyone disagree with you!
Now, knock yourself out replying but you have bored me and I won't bother reading it..
Boardroom gets call from warehouse: "We just found tons of red plastic in barrels. Do we toss them or what?"
Boardroom dithers then has lightbulb moment: "Red=Mario. Mario Wonder releasing soon. Let's make all red Switch Oleds with just enough details to make them seem legit. Sure, they'll be ugly but our fans will buy anything! It's a go, go, go!"
@Sisilly_G That all sounds very "keep them barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen while I go out with my sword and slay the dragons."
One of societies biggest changes came during WWII when women found they could actually do more than that. I graduated from high school 100 years ago. Well, 1968. Girls, even smart, talented ones were not encouraged to take the higher math and science courses: they're just going to get married/pregnant (in whichever order) so why bother. Plus, men had families to support whilst women worked for a bit extra pocket money.
Opportunity is the key, imho. The lack of it makes a huge difference. You see the sexes roles as you do because it's what society has said is the norm. Change is hard. Imho, a lot of the anger straight white males feel stems from the fear of losing however much or little power they feel they have left. There's bound to be resentment.
Not all women would be good company executives. Neither would all men. But the opportunity needs to be open to all that may be.
My copy is supposed to arrive from Amazon July10. I like guide books, especially for a game as intricate and huge as TotK. Otherwise there are a lot of things I won't even ever know about.
@Ryu_Niiyama

That same narrative happens in almost every religion in the world.
@Jhena
"I do not really believe in a time line. Link was even a christian in A Link To The Past."
What???
Through it all: the saving of their worlds, battles epic and small, travels all over the map, all the many, many quests...for me The Legend of Zelda has always been a love story. There's even the unrequited love of Zora princesses for Link to spice up the mix. But Zelda and Link are forever, well, linked. Even Ganandorf's evil has a roll to play.
I see them all coming back time after time at different ages and stages til they get it right.
I only had 2 Amiibos, a Tom Nook which I have no idea how I got and the wolf link one, which I bought because I liked it. And Twilight Princess is one of my favourite games.
Now I have 3. I am surprised at the detail and quality of the piece. Again, it's just because I like it.

Surely Liz Truss hardly counts, heheh.
Re: Review: Piczle Cross: Story Of Seasons (Switch) - Dependable Puzzlin' With A Faint Farm-Sim Flavour
I know I'm in the minority, and I'm happy for those who like these games, but I freakin' hate Picross!
There. I said it and feel better. Whew.

Hope you and yours are well, friend.

I know. I'm just so old school that I tend to manually save even with auto save enabled. Old habits die hard.

Tbh, if your child needs to go to the ER, saving a video game is low on the list of priorities.

Is it really that hard to understand that some/many people only have one Switch and need to trade up when a new console comes out?
A lot of either humble brags or lack of empathy exhibited in threads like these.
Re: Talking Point: Switch Is Nintendo's "Main Business" Right Now, But All Eyes Are On The Horizon
I can't really afford a new system right now, so later is better for me.
Just give me Windwaker and Twilight Princess, Nintendo. I'm begging here. And can we please hear something positive about backwards capability.

Disingenuous because it doesn't agree with your take?
I've enjoyed the game. It's not perfect but a damn sight better the HM: TWoA. But that's just my opinion. That's how it works.

Re: Review: Harvest Moon: The Winds Of Anthos - Terrible Title, Pretty Alright Game
The huge open world just looks way too empty to me, judging from the game play I've watched. Those eyes freak me out, too.
Got burned by One World; this looks too similar.

Personally, I think this game is junk. But I don't have to buy it and if others like it, fine. It doesn't affect me in any way.
It's pretty easy, really.
