I don't know why some on the all powerful interwebz are comparing Harvestella to Animal Crossing, to me it makes no sense. Rune Factory may be closer, but I enjoyed the demo by not expecting it to be RF.

It's already down loaded to my Switch, mocking me til Friday. I loved the demo and had gotten a handle on the time element. These QoL tweaks will just make it better.

Shipping for the small ones is more than the price.

I loved this game, even with the time element, etc. I've had it preordered for some time from the eshop. The QoL additions will make it even better. Can't wait til Nov 4!

Many will, no doubt. But this economic downturn is affecting people who are usually immune from it and they are nervous about the future. Discretionary spending is already down here in the States.

Demos aren't always representative of the finished game. One problem is they have a ton of stuff to establish story wise which leads to a lot of cut scenes. I saw a post on Reddit that said they are going to fix the time element which will be a big improvement.

I like the game and a few fixes will really help. One reason I'm enjoying it is that I accepted it's not Rune Factory. I'll probably get it physical day 1.

Something no one seems address is the fact that the world's economy is in the toilet right now. People in many countries are going to struggle to keep warm this winter and feed their families.

Add in the chip and component shortages and we'll be lucky if things improve enough by 2024 for Nintendo to release anything big.

Your post was fine, calling out a legitimate concern.

I've started another file and there are more differences between the characters. I'm playing it on a 55" tv and it doesn't look blurry to me as someone else said. I'm enjoying the game and have high hopes for the finished version.

What you're saying is fair. This is a demo so I guess we can hope for some changes before release.

@Uska The differences are very subtle but the stance is what defines the male or female character. I think the top 4 are male and the bottom 4 female. Or vice versa.

I'm really enjoying the game. Time management is tricky but do-able. Plenty of food is given to you during the demo and fast travel helps. Can't wait for Nov 4!

To become a parent or not is a personal decision that no one, whichever they choose, need justify.

Yeah, that Harvestella presentation was embarrassing as hell. It reeked of phoniness and trying to hard. "Wow! You're playing so good! Golly gee whiz!" (Paraphrased but close.)

I won't blame the game as the fault lies solely with Nintendo.

I've restarted DQ 11S, which I haven't played in more than a year. Imho it's the GOAT. Due to memory issues due to ptsd much of it is almost new to me (again). A good way to pass hot, muggy days.

I really don't care anymore. Nintendo seems committed to being cutesy with their information more than ever. I'll find out about games through the numerous sources available.

I'm so glad this is the one being released! I have no interest in it (tho the joycons ARE cool) and with the economy the way it is I won't feel badly that I can't in good conscience buy a new system.

Happy for those who love and want it and happy for me.

Cubivore is great game, which unfortunately, I no longer own. Nor my GCN. My kids and I played the hell out of that game.

I can't believe Nintendo can't find a way to bring GCN games to online. They really no longer care what we want.

You seem willing to accept your own definitions as the only ones that are truth, yet are annoyed that others may see the world thru their definitions. Recreation vs escapism is a bit pedantic. Gads! Truth be told, I seriously doubt anyone cares why you play a game.

Yesterday was my birthday. I'd picked up RF5 as a present to myself. It's a much better game than some are saying and I'm enjoying it.

Then my best friend of about 33 years called and, tho she's not a gamer, told me to buy Kirby with $ she was sending in my card. I'm very grateful as it's rare that a game makes me feel so happy! Kirby is a gem and I find myself smiling like an idiot whilst playing it.

My playing or not playing a game will not impact the world's unrelenting crises in any way. I'll take joy wherever I can find it. A bit of escapism is a good thing and allows us a chance to refuel emotional stamina..

I was so surprised to see the booklet when I opened the game case! Felt like the old days.

I picked it up physical on release, after being so disappointed in PoOT.

I'm really enjoying it. Could some things be better? Oh, yes. Graphics wise it looks unfinished. There are some stutters. Neither reach game breaking levels, imho. Do turn off the auto camera which is nausea inducing.

The characters are varied and interesting. Though why Terry isn't court-able is a mystery and a crime, heheh. Perhaps Rune Factory fans set our bars too low. But it's not the mess it was when released in Japan. After the decade wait from RF4 it should be better. And for the gods' sake: why can't furniture be placed against a wall? That is maddening.

In the end, however, if I'm enjoying a game that's enough for me.

If I was stranded on a desert island (one with a magical source of electricity, of course) the one game I'd want with me is DQ11S. For me it's the GOAT.

And yeah: DQ Builders 3 would be wonderful. Though it's hard to see how DQB2 could be improved.

I've been tempted to try one of the 3rd party controllers but the reviews just aren't very good. Your experiences are pretty typical, unfortunately.
