Re: Site News: We've Got A Switch 2

k8sMum

I've never understood the desire to watch unbox-ing videos. If i can afford the item, I'll do my own unbox-ing. If I can't, like right now with the Switch 2, why torture myself for someone else's humble brag? I just don't get it.

@sanderev
Everything you said is subjective not factual.

The game runs fine on my Switch. Load times are very good. The look of the game is fine imo. I'd heard horror tales of it giving people motion sickness, which I am very prone to. I've had no problems at all. But, again, it's all subjective.

It's fun if you like this sort of game, which I do. How is it worse than the 3DS game?

Re: Fantasy Life i Is Proving So Popular That Level-5 Has Already Announced Free DLC

@Gorlock

I cannot play any first person games at all. I used to try watching my kids play Mario Kart and would get so nauseous I'd have to leave the room.

I watched a video by (I think) a Miss Bubbles who said the Switch version was horrible for triggering motion sickness, went on and on about it. I understand that it's going to be different for each individual, but her review had me worried as I can't afford to buy pricey games and not be able to play them.

I downloaded the game y'day. I played a couple hours last nite and am thankfully having no problems. I am careful about not having the camera set too fast and not swinging it around as that can trigger it.

Thanks for your input.

Re: Ex-PlayStation Boss On Switch 2's Name: Nintendo Created So Much "Brand Value"

Yeah, I get it. A couple days ago a guy from NYSEG was checking something in my apartment. He went to leave then spied my Switch and asked who played it. You'd have been proud of me as I just told him I played it. Oh, he goes. What sort of games do you play, he asked innocently. I told him well y'know: the usual...Zelda, Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, stuff like that.

He then got this amazed look on his face and said, incredulously: you play Zelda games?

I hustled him out the door before I could no longer control the urge to do bodily harm. I can't believe there are still prehistoric modes of thinking about gamers.

I'm having trouble with the reality that we 're not the country I thought we were. It hurts. There's the pain we're all going to suffer from stupid decisions, ie tariffs, that could have been avoided. The inmates are truly going to be running the asylum.

You're right: we can only do what we can do. I'm a news junkie, but for a few days, am avoiding it. I have taken some of the frustration out on my apartment and done a deep clean, lol. Thank you for your sensible words. And, again, you are right: we're not alone.

Nintendo is 3 and 0 with me right now as far as things I don't care about: the museum, the alarm clock and now this. I'm sure it's great for those who DO care, but for many of us it's just Ninty being their infuriatingly coy selves.

I'm to the point where I'm sick of all the parsing of every word they put out. I'm sick of all the leaks, rumors and speculation. When Switch 2 releases, it releases. Til then, I'm burned out and don't care.

Re: Stardew Valley Version 1.6 Is Finally Out Now On Switch

k8sMum

I've tried getting into Stardew a few times but it just never clicked with me. I'n trying again with this update and am enjoying it more. My main problem seems to be the number of characters and how to find them. And the thought of gift giving is a bit intimidating.

But I'm taking it slower than I usually do and trying to just enjoy the journey.

Re: Potential Switch Port Round-Up - The Wii U Games That Haven't Come To Switch

Fours years later and we still haven't gotten TP and/or WW. But we got a $100 alarm clock. And the music app, which I downloaded but will probably use sparingly. I so envy Felix who seems genuinely excited for anything and everything that Nintendo puts out.

I'm a wee bit tired of Nintendo's coy-ness. Why the mention of Switch 2 then months of silence? Except to announce there will be no announcement. It's their choice, of course, but I don't care any more. Too many you tubers have made it their main money maker with the speculation videos. If someone at Ninty farts there will be hours of videos explaining what they think it means based on the tonal qualities and duration.

It's gonna happen when it happens. Nothing I nor anyone else do will alter that. But, and this is just for me, Nintendo has gone from quirky to smug to meh with their grand announcements.

Re: Poll: Are You Bothered By The Frame Rate In Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom?

@poudigne
Untwist your knickers. I've probably been gaming longer than you've been alive. And I don't play Pokemon.

You want everyone to join your crusade, even those of us who don't have the problem. It doesn't work like that. When I have a problem, I address it. If I don't, then why should I lie for the likes of you?

@NintendoWife
As I've mentioned in other threads, I only play docked. So it's obviously not a 'docked' problem for me.

Re: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom's Frame Rate Is "Even Worse" Than Link's Awakening

k8sMum

I don't know. My eyes are sensitive to clipping. It gives me a raging headache. I got headaches playing PS1 games. Can't play games or watch videos where the camera swings around wildly.

I'm playing the digital version of LoZ: EoW and it's a lot of fun. Great game. I honestly haven't had any instances of frame rate troubles. I can understand people's eyes reacting differently, but unplayable? Nope.
