So that's your lot for this week's North American Nintendo Download. Go on, be a sport and drop a vote in the poll above, and comment below with your hot picks!
Axiom Verge 2 of course!
I'm pretty excited for Boyfriend Dungeon. I've been waiting a while
I'm surprised how expensive art of rally is! I was expecting something closer to $17.99-19.99. I might have to hold out just a few days now until I can get on that, but mark my words: I'm getting on that. There are a lot of games I'm looking forward to now and buying between yesterday's Indie World and some other articles I've been reading recently... It was looking a bit bleak for me there for a bit personally. Not now..
Yeah I'm excited for that one too. I may go ahead and bite at the $24.99, though $19.99 would be better. Haven't played a good rally game in a long time.
@Solaine One of the few times I can answer the poll honestly. Usually there are games I plan to get, but won’t be buying them the first week. AV2, however, is already downloaded.
This is the first time in forever when I couldn’t select every game I intend to purchase in the poll. What an absolutely overwhelming release week.
I love it.
Axiom Verge and maybe Garden Story. Need several good reviews for that one.
.cat Milk... does Nintendo have any quality standards for eShop games?
I love, love LOVE Axiom Verge!! I am so down for the sequel prequel!!
I think Greak: Memories of Azur looks potentially interesting. Will wait for reviews.
I got Islanders, and while it didn't release this week, I decided to get Dreamscaper as well while it was still on sale. Haven't started either one since I'm still working on Neo: The World Ends With You's postgame, but I'm excited to try them out! Slime Rancher, Axiom Verge 2, and Garden Story are all ones I want to play too, but I'm holding off for physical releases of at least those first two.
Axiom Verge 2
If anybody is interested, One Deck Dungeon is based on a card-based boardgame which is pretty good if you enjoy very stripped-back dungeon crawlers. It is a roguelite, your character gets stronger over the course of a campaign. And its main claim to fame is all the player characters are female, some of them are WOC, and all are dressed practically for dungeon crawling, AKA "no fanservice".
Obviously, some of us will be all in on something like that, while others will say "ew no, we don't need no woke dungeon crawlers". I don't want to start a whole debate here. For better or for worse, that's what this game is.
Personally, I'm honestly not sure I need this on the Switch, but I do like the tabletop game. Like the blurb says, sometimes you want to throw down without taking an hour to set up a boardgame, and ODD works. This is not as big a factor when it comes to video games, though.
(Edited for typos)
I cheated... I imported the physical version of Space Invaders: Invincible Collection months ago.
Doing the opposite with Axiom Verge 2, waiting until Limited Run preorders open in October. Given their track record, I can expect to get AV2 in the mail sometime in late 2023.
