Re: Poll: The Utterly Charming Animal Crossing Series Is 15 Today, But Which Is Your Favourite?

@davidevoid I don't even really consider the NES games a selling feature of the original because I never really played them. It was cool to collect them and put them in your house, but the best ones were only available via eReader and I never got into that. For me, New Leaf is the best game all around, but there's an endearing "weirdness" to the original that they've never duplicated. The villager dialog was more blunt and random, the music had more of an alternative feeling to it, the art style was a little more jagged and odd. I wish they had kept the series weird instead of going for a more cutesy feel, but cute sells more I guess.

Re: Talking Point: My Nintendo's Pros, Cons and Areas for Improvement

I think the rewards are overpriced and I find it ridiculous that they had a chance to tie purchases to an account instead of a console and yet they still did not do that. Also crossbuy on virtual console and eshop games that are on multiple platforms needs to happen immediately. I'd love to have SNES games on my 3DS, but I'm not paying almost 9 dollars a pop for games I've already purchased on two other consoles (Wii and Wii U) that I can play right now.

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo Was Wrong To Turn Its Back On The Wii Remote

My personal stance: the Wii remote was great for its time, but by the time Wii U arrived, I had grown tired of it. As for the gamepad, I never really liked it. I find it large and clunky and it makes my hands ache to play it for extended periods of time. I feel that the off-tv play and having a map in my hands for most games are the only useful features of it.

Re: Miitomo Update to Expand Friend Options and Features

@abe_hikura True, but what if your real life friends are not interested in downloading the app? Most of my friends are married and have children. I can't see them being very interested in Miitomo; therefore the experience will be really small and shallow for me.

Re: Poll: Are You Ready to Download More of Your Retail Games From the eShop?

grumblebuzzz

Until Nintendo gets an account system that allows you to redownload your purchases in the event that your console is gone, I think it's a piss poor idea to go all digital with retail purchases at almost $70 a pop per game. I admit I have done this with a few games out of convenience, but if my hard drive corrupts or my Wii U breaks down or is lost in a fire or whatever, I'm screwed out of a ton of money.

Re: Nintendo Download: 11th February (North America)

I'm pretty sure I rented Oddworld back in the day and it was one of those games where the characters and premise were interesting and memorable, but the game itself was a clunker to control and I didn't make it very far. Not sure if I'd be interested in a remake of it or not.

Re: Video: Nintendo Reminds Us of Just How Much DLC We Had for Super Smash Bros.

grumblebuzzz

Didn't buy a single character. I know most Smash fans were happy with the DLC roster, but I was disappointed at so many RPG characters — particularly from Fire Emblem, a series I have never been interested in — when Nintendo has such a vast roster of more universally-known and beloved characters at their disposal that they could have brought to the game.

@faint I will stop nothing. You guys get all the big name retro games that I want while we get a slow trickle of obscure sequels and pure junk.

Also, Zero Mission is better than Fusion in my eyes and is my favorite 2D Metroid game, which is something I hear from a lot of fans.
