I didn't expected NintendoLife to have one of the lowest review scores for the game I've seen.
Oh well, I already pre ordered on ps4 and I'm still excited to try the game. It's always hard to take reviews as a whole when they tend to contradict each other. Different strokes for different folks, I guess?
Honestly the open ended levels were the weakest parts of the game. I play Bayonetta to enjoy the high octane action and fighting, not to wander aimlessly and search for secrets.
I don't know why Platinum thought this was a good idea... Trend chasing I guess?
Isn't it a bit odd to not mention the 5 frames of input lag this version has over the original release? That's pretty important info to share in a review!
This is a complaint I see from people who don't understand that arcade games are played for 1ccs and high score runs. If you just credit feed every time you die then yeah, sure, it's "short" but you're not really playing the intended way and you're getting low scores...
@Bkirchhoff There is but like previous WayForward LRG CEs the code comes on the day the game releases via email. You dont get it right now before launch.
While a decent review, it's pretty unprofessional to use the terms "loli" and "trap" unironically in 2021. Loli is a term specifically evocative of pedophilic media and trap is a pretty nasty transphobic term. I get that some of that history or nuance may be lost on some people (even the author), but it's kinda cringe to read.
@Omario It's really hard to determine that. They seem fairly happy with how they are selling (enough to tease more ports), but it's all tough to figure out. Sales data for this stuff doesn't appear to be available publicly.
I remember seeing that Darius Cozmic Revelation sold alright, but it looked like Cotton Reboot didn't sell that well. But that's only physical sales in Japan first week.
The biggest problem is that there is no actual reason to exclude someone from the credits. Doesn't matter if they worked a day or a year. Give them credit.

Re: Bayonetta 3 Version 1.2.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
Unfortunately the game will still be pretty bad because the level design and camera were AWFUL, but some of these changes are improvements.
However, most of these should've been there day one.
Making nifflheim easier is bunk, though.
Re: Classic Taito Games Get Enhanced Re-Releases On Switch In February
The ACA release of Metal Black is superior, cheaper, and out now. Previous s-tribute releases had pretty beefy input lag.
Re: Taito Corporation Preparing For 70th Anniversary Celebrations In 2023
An actually new Darius game would be incredible

Re: Mini Review: Jitsu Squad - A Joyous Love Letter To '90s Capcom, Held Back By Technical Issues
@Jey887
It has tons of frames of animation, enemies, and VFX. I could see it easily taxing the Switch.

This doesn't seem useful for a Nintendo website...?

Re: Konami's Arcade Classics Receiving Limited Run Switch Physical Release, Pre-Orders Open This Week
@SteamEngenius these games aren't worth 10 cents. They've got more value than your modern AAA game IMO.

I've heard really good things about this one.
Re: It's Official, Bayonetta's OG Voice Actor Won't Be Returning For The Third Outing
Very disappointing and no good reason is given. It was not Helena's choice, she said as much on twitter.

Dynasty warriors 8 Xtreme Legends is supposed to be really good. Why isn't it on the list?
Re: Soapbox: Please, Please, Please Release Sonic Advance Trilogy On Nintendo Switch Online
I'd much prefer remasters to subscription-based ROM dumps. They need expanded views a la the Sonic genesis remasters (widescreen).

I pick up anything with kaiju, so I'll add this to the list!
Not sure I quite understand how it plays, but I like big monsters!
Re: Heart Machine Reveals Open-World Hyper Light Drifter Sequel, 'Hyper Light Breaker'
I thought the trend of "show a trailer without gameplay" was only a AAA thing.
Kinda disappointing to see it in the "indie" sphere too. Though I guess this isn't indie anyways?

EXCELLENT use of the word 'Brobdingnagian'!

@Lord lmao the European rating symbols are way, way worse!
That's funny. Over here you can trade and sell any version of any game anywhere- no problem!

@Lord the LRG release is region-free and ships worldwide!

Re: Review: Sol Cresta - PlatinumGames' Intriguing Shmup Doesn't Do Enough To Stand Out

$50 physical? $40 digital??
What the heck is going on here?
Re: Namco's 'Dangerous Seed' Is Coming To Switch Later This Month
The SEGA Genesis version has a WAY better soundtrack.
Re: Talking Point: What Could NFTs Mean For Gaming, And Why Are They So Divisive?
NFTs take something that can be free and open, and make it limited and scarce.
They are fundamentally useless and an artificial way to make digital spaces worse.

That's a shame. It looked like it held some promise.
Re: Metroid Dread Studio Hit With Allegations Of Poor Organisation And Management
Disgusting how insensitive a lot of these comments are.
Mercury Steam has a terrible reputation among the developer community in Spain. None of this is surprising, all of it is awful.
Re: Talking Point: The Metroid Dread Credits Debate Is Sadly Common
@Spiders you genuinely have NO idea what you're talking about. I'm a game industry veteran. On every project I work on, I get credits.
The only reason Mercury Steam does this is because they're run by awful people and have a terrible reputation in Spain.
Re: Talking Point: The Metroid Dread Credits Debate Is Sadly Common
The biggest problem is that there is no actual reason to exclude someone from the credits. Doesn't matter if they worked a day or a year. Give them credit.
