But also, they bought up indie games with predatory contracts and then refused to release the game. They bough 90s Arcade Racer and then refused to release it even though its completed, totally screwing over the developer.
I watched a video of a guy run through a level without hitting an enemy, just walking through them. And then the enemies just sat there and didn't attack.
Surprised the review score is so high considering.
I'm priced out of Switch 2, but even when I do eventually get one, I'll keep my Switch 1. Knowing its not truly backwards compatible means i cant get rid of it...
That professor is pretty blind to reality. Sure plenty of games do receive patches, but there are plenty of games that are complete and playable on cart. There's an entire website dedicated to this (does it play).
This is not just a huge step back for preservation, its spitting in the face of consumer rights.
These folks lied to their customers so much, and for so long. Even this article doesn't make it clear what resources were "low" and why the money they took for pre-orders wasn't used to fulfill the pre-orders!
It took over two years to get Dariusburst CS Core after being told I would get it 3 months after I purchased it...
They spoke about transparency but never lived up to that promise. They still haven't even delivered Ray'z CE and they keep announcing new games (likely to gather money to pay for old games!).
I would be shocked if this company makes it to the end of the year.
I mean, at the end of the day Gacha mechanics are still transparently predatory and introduce artificial scarcity and gambling-like mindsets to game design.
I'm not sure it's a good thing to "learn to love" them...

@gergelyv it IS from decades ago...
Re: Review: R-Type Delta: HD Boosted (Switch) - The Best R-Type? Possibly, And It's Never Looked Better
The elephant in the room: how is the input lag??
Also, when will LEO get a port?

Re: The Binding Of Isaac Is Heading To Switch 2 With A Full Physical Release
I'll never buy a Nicalis game again as long as I live.
Terrible company, and the article should do more to expose how awful they've been.
Re: Feature: Who Is Devon Pritchard? - Meet The Next NOA President Stepping Into Bowser's Boots
I wonder if we'll ever have a president with as much of a public profile as Reggie ever again.
Re: Dragon Quest VII Gets Reimagined For Switch And Switch 2 In Early 2026
This was remade not long ago... Seems odd.
Re: Panzer Dragoon Zwei: Remake Resurfaces, Will Be Playable At TGS 2025
Yeah, I'm good.
The HotD remakes are some of the worst games in recent memory.
Re: Review: SHINOBI: Art Of Vengeance (Switch) - A Beautifully Crafted Return For Joe Musashi
@The_Nintendo_Pedant mind the inflammatory titles:
Video 1, which got a lot of angry accusations: https://youtu.be/pnPWPxMEDx8?si=VCH9CqZa1Oz6kVC-
Video 2, as a response to the accusations: https://youtu.be/M0uP-oD87v0?si=sfxMl4KEbjLP0udc

Re: Review: 8BitDo Arcade Controller For Switch + Switch 2 - The Best Way To Play Street Fighter 6
As a longtime arcade gamer and fighting game player, I seriously do not believe leverless is the "best" way to play anything.
Its ok to have preferences without putting down other input methods.
Re: Fast & Furious: Arcade Port Cruises Onto Switch This October
Remember when they announced an online MP update would be coming to Cruis'n Blast?
Re: Nightdive Studios & Atari Announce Physical Edition of Remastered Turok Trilogy Bundle
I was waiting for a bundle like this. I'll grab it when releases.
Re: Nintendo's President Apologises For Not Being Able To Meet Switch 2 Demand
Up in Canada stock and demand is not an issue at all. Our wal-marts and Gamestops have full stock- no one wants one up here.
If anyone lives close to the border near Toronto, just drive on up and grab one.
Re: Poll: So, Did You Order A Nintendo Switch 2?
The whole game key card thing has left a bad taste in my mouth, and the price is a real kick in the teeth.
I'll get one eventually, but not any time soon.
Re: Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake Launches October, Switch 2 Version Confirmed
I'll stick with the Switch 1 version... no key-cards for me.
Re: Codemasters Says It Will Look At Switch 2 And See If It's A "Good Fit" For F1 Games
No analogue triggers, so what's the point? Nintendo has made it abundantly clear they do not want racing games on their platform.
Re: Talking Point: Are You Ghosting Switch 1 To Save Yourself For Switch 2?
I'm priced out of Switch 2, but even when I do eventually get one, I'll keep my Switch 1. Knowing its not truly backwards compatible means i cant get rid of it...
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Dev Tells Studios "Do Not Underestimate The Physical Edition"
I dont care for CDPR games, but I have mad respect for them coming out and saying this.
Re: Star Wars: Grand Collection For Switch Now Available, Nine "Iconic" Games In One
So it just adds Bounty Hunter and Jedi Power Battles to the Heritage Collection?
I'd prefer a new collection with Battlefront, Bounty Hunter, Jedi Power Battles, and Dark Forces...
Also, no physical?
Re: Switch 2 Game-Key Cards Won't Make It Easy For Physical Collectors In Japan
@Shade_Koopa Good for you. When I'm done with a game, I sell it and get some of that money I spent -back-.
I also have real-life friends who I trade and lend games to.
Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Buying Any Game-Key Card Switch 2 Games?
not even once.
I'd rather buy the game on PlayStation than get it digitally on Switch.

Re: Limited Run's Atlus Switch 2 Collector's Edition Is A 'Game-Key Card' Release
"Forever physical"
Honestly, this game key card nonsense is making me think I really dont need to make the "jump" to Switch 2... This absolutely blows chunks.
Re: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Has Been Rated For Switch 2
Hopefully it actually arrives on the game cartridge itself... yeesh.
Re: Switch 2 Game-Key Cards Won't Make It Easy For Physical Collectors In Japan
@Shade_Koopa good luck selling, trading, or lending a digital download.
Re: Switch 2 Game-Key Cards Won't Make It Easy For Physical Collectors In Japan
Makes it a very easy decision not to buy.
This better not become the standard or I'll be buying a LOT less games.
Re: The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller - All New Features Revealed
Still no analogue triggers?
Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct?
@ManaOwls very well put. I think this sums up my feelings exactly!
Definitely a death nail in the end of an era.
Re: Rumour: FCC Filing Hints At Switch 2 Pro Controller, And It May Come With One Big Upgrade
I just want analogue triggers...
Re: After Copying Smash's Homework, MultiVersus Publisher Was Apparently Turning To Mario Kart Next
@Serpenterror smash is not like urban champ. No one likes UC. It's a trash game. Don't try to stuff fake news down people's throats.
Smash was directly inspired by Outfoxies and KoF.
Re: Round Up: Humble Games Showcase 2025 - Every Nintendo Switch Announcement
@HeadPirate not exactly. Humble was purchased in 2017 by IGN. Humble Games got cleaned out last year.
Who is even operating it? Even the developers in this showcase said "they lost access to critical systems" and HG stopped signing games.
Running a publisher is not analogous to flipping burgers.
Re: Round Up: Humble Games Showcase 2025 - Every Nintendo Switch Announcement
How did Humble Games have a showcase? Didn't they fire all staff?
Re: Hamster's Arcade Archives Celebrates Eight Years Of Switch eShop Releases
@HammerGalladeBro if you want more Taito games on ACA I recommend picking up Taito Milestones 2 & 3, much cheaper.
Also, some of the best ACA titles are shmups! Don't miss out on em!

I'm holding out for the physical version! Can't wait.
Re: US Physical Game Spending Continued To Decline Last Year, Now Sits At Half 2021's Numbers
I can only assume a lot of this has to do with the increased prevalence of PC gaming.

@FantasiaWHT Hamster is extremely accurate in their emulation.
Re: New Mario Kart 9 Teased For Switch 2
Mario kart 9? I honestly thought that was a DLC track from 8.
Was hoping for more of a surprise/something newer looking...
Re: Review: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD (Switch) - Aping A Retro Classic
It costs significantly more than the original wii game at launch! Pass.
Re: Retro Staff Credits Removed From Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, Forever Entertainment Confirmed As Devs
Surprise surprise, it's the same folks who slaughtered House of the Dead...
Re: House Of The Dead 2: Remake Blasts Onto Switch This Spring
@MikeP it's a hack-job. A quick buck being made off a good name.
It saddens me that SEGA cares this little about HotD...
Re: Genki Claims The 'Switch 2' Joy-Con Can Be Removed By 'Brute Force'
can't wait to brush one of these magnet joycons across the switch storage unit and wipe all my game saves
Re: House Of The Dead 2: Remake Blasts Onto Switch This Spring
This game is gonna suck as bad as the first remake. Sorry, but that game was GOD-AWFUL and an insult to the original.
No faith in this at all.
Re: Wii Build Of Free Radical's Cancelled 'Star Wars Battlefront 3' Has Been Discovered
This would've been spectacular... real shame it was dropped.
Re: Shmup Fans Rejoice! 'DoDonPachi True Death' Is Coming To Switch In Japan This Month
hoping for a physical!
Re: Nintendo Left Sony "Standing At The Altar" With SNES Disk Add-On, Says Former PlayStation Exec
It's really disappointing how Nintendo treated Sony here, but at least it led to the PS1 and more competition.
I love the N64 as much as the next guy but the PS1 revolutionized the industry.
Re: Taito Milestones 3 Finally Locks In A Western Release Date On Switch
This is a huge deal for Rastan Saga III aka Warrior Blade (1991). That's a legendary game.
Overall incredibly lineup. Dead Connection is a real hidden gem, and having Cadash and the full Rastan trilogy in one collection is fantastic.
Bubble Bobble and Rainbow Islands is nice, too.
Already got my physical pre-ordered.
Re: Talking Point: Where The Heck Are Those Metroid Prime 2 And 3 Remasters?
lol, I know what happened to it. It would've been out years ago, but...
