I'm not really into cozy games but I got this game for my GF on PS5 and she loved it. We sit and play it together sometimes, its like if Animal Crossing had a story and focused on cooking.

I did not really see why it got the hate...

@The_Nintendo_Expat Yeah, I really wish more review sites would take the time to measure input lag as a baseline for all games, most ESPECIALLY any games that are retro ports/emulation.

I also wish Digital Eclipse would improve their emulation so this wouldn't be an issue in the first place...

I'm kind of surprised this article celebrating the game is so negative.

This is, in my opinion, the best version of the original RE1 and it makes me sad that it'll likely never get ported (Capcom instead opting to port the inferior PS1 "director's cut").

Even just simple additions like the knife being on "L" or the quickturn make this game way smoother than the OG.

I get why some people just stick to the remake, but personally I prefer the tone and atmosphere of the original. It's bright and unsettling (and iconic!).

I definitely recommend people check out this game and give it a shot. It's stuck with me after all these years!

Eh... I'm not sure I trust DE with these games. DE is notorious for adding significant input lag, and that would make most of these games borderline unplayable.

@Zuljaras that's definitely what is holding me back from buying one, but surely you and I are in the minority?

I assume this is due to global recession, higher cost of living, high prices and lack of stand out games.

I watched a video of a guy run through a level without hitting an enemy, just walking through them. And then the enemies just sat there and didn't attack.

Surprised the review score is so high considering.

As a longtime arcade gamer and fighting game player, I seriously do not believe leverless is the "best" way to play anything.

Its ok to have preferences without putting down other input methods.

No analogue triggers, so what's the point? Nintendo has made it abundantly clear they do not want racing games on their platform.

I'm priced out of Switch 2, but even when I do eventually get one, I'll keep my Switch 1. Knowing its not truly backwards compatible means i cant get rid of it...

I'd rather buy the game on PlayStation than get it digitally on Switch.

That professor is pretty blind to reality. Sure plenty of games do receive patches, but there are plenty of games that are complete and playable on cart. There's an entire website dedicated to this (does it play).

This is not just a huge step back for preservation, its spitting in the face of consumer rights.

@Serpenterror smash is not like urban champ. No one likes UC. It's a trash game. Don't try to stuff fake news down people's throats.

@HeadPirate not exactly. Humble was purchased in 2017 by IGN. Humble Games got cleaned out last year.

Who is even operating it? Even the developers in this showcase said "they lost access to critical systems" and HG stopped signing games.

Running a publisher is not analogous to flipping burgers.

How did Humble Games have a showcase? Didn't they fire all staff?

@HammerGalladeBro if you want more Taito games on ACA I recommend picking up Taito Milestones 2 & 3, much cheaper.

These folks lied to their customers so much, and for so long. Even this article doesn't make it clear what resources were "low" and why the money they took for pre-orders wasn't used to fulfill the pre-orders!

It took over two years to get Dariusburst CS Core after being told I would get it 3 months after I purchased it...

They spoke about transparency but never lived up to that promise. They still haven't even delivered Ray'z CE and they keep announcing new games (likely to gather money to pay for old games!).

I would be shocked if this company makes it to the end of the year.

I'm holding out for the physical version! Can't wait.

I can only assume a lot of this has to do with the increased prevalence of PC gaming.
