@Strictlystyles You too huh? Yeah i think it was a pretty pointless article too. Japan has always been bigger on portable gaming, Microsoft have never had a good presence and the series X was barely out in 2020

Not sure what the point of this article is. People are buying the 3ds more because there is still quality content and portable gaming has always been massive in Japan. They are also buying it incase production is ended.
An you cant compare it to the Series X that wasnt released until the last 2 months of the year.

Virtually every game movie to date has been garbage. But the Sonic movie and Detective pikachu were genuinely good movies.

@honshu Yeah I was doing that but it was just so damn annoying. The amount of work required and the payoff just didn't align. That's really the only reason I stopped playing

I enjoyed it on Switch but i stopped playing when i had to grind for money. There doesnt seem to be a good way to make money, i can progress the story without making a new workshop and i need to buy more land to do that.
So im totally stuck unless i want to grind for days just for money

When your core audience turns against you ya messed up big time. They have the resources and money to make an absolutely epic game that could outsell anything and they just go "nah, let's make a new game with minimal changes, those suckers will buy ir"

I will never ever understand The Pokemon Company. Estimated to be worth $100bn absolutely massive money-making machine, one of the biggest. But, when it comes to games all they do is release half-assed copy and paste games. They have the team and the money to make a AAA mind-blowing system seller
Itstead they go "na f**k it copy the last one we did and make it a little more shiny"

I mean, i cant be the only one that would love to see a Zelda Breath of the wild type world, fully realised. There is nothing stopping them. the only reason they wont is because its so much easy just to copy and paste and people will still buy it.

@SilentS The app is bad on everything. PS4, PS5, Smart TVS, Android. Its been broken for 2 years with the same issues and they just never fix it

Oh yay..cant wait to pay full price for a 15+ year old game.
Dont get me wrong it would be nice to see these titles again but we know Nintendo will gouge like they usually do

I loved it but god i cant find love for the last level. I played the game, got as much stuff as i could but i rage quit the last level and havent gone back.

Never gonna happen, I'm starting to think Sega enjoy making garbage Sonic games. They would never let someone have a go at the franchise that might actually make a good game. I still dont know how we got Mania, that game was great. I dont even know how Sonic Team hasnt been shut down yet. If any studio put how crap after crap title they would get shut down.

Ok, I get the whole thing where games inspire other games. But man...this one feels a little too close doesnt it?
Shrines, four gods, powers of some sort. I get inspired by but this really does feel like Ubi just directly copied Breath of the wild. Even the Stamina for climbing is the exact same.

No more heroes 1 and 2 were immediate purchases. I never played the second one, loved the first one. But more important..they made them a sensible bloody price. None of Nintendo ***** of "Heres $80cdn for a 6 year olf game we did nothing to"

@Zuljaras OLED has lower heat output than any form of LED. So its should actually run very cool. Screen burn in with OLED is still a problem but you would have to leave the system on the same screen for a very very long time to get a burn in.

@MajinSoul It isnt, i gave up playing it because of just how broken it was.

My time in Portia was a good game but man it was super broken. I had a tonne of glitchs and it never really felt finished. It also had an issue where making money took absolutely forever. I have to buy land to make a bigger machine but the only way to make money is to sell goods you make...if you get lucky on a high price.

@Clyde_Radcliffe Of course not. But when you consider we had games like Spyro that was a trilogy of games made from the ground up with entirly re done graphics and audio. Where they had to design a piece of software to make it. Yet its launch price was lower than this. And all they did was give it some extra levels.

I love all systems I have them all. But pretending that Nintendo pricing isn't a problem is just closing your eyes.

@Agriculture Sounds about right for Nintendo. The fan boys say "But the games keep their value". they dont legitimately keep their value. Nintendo just forces the value to stay high which inflates the value. The fact that Pikmin 3 and Mario 3d World is full price is absolutely insane for how little work they did.

@AmplifyMJ Safe assumption is, that, as usual, Nintendo put loads of deals on the NA stores and gave the middle finger to Canada like they do during almost every sale.

Im tired of the constant mobile ports that are free on Android and iPhone but somehow $30 on eshop. They appear all the same time, get added to the deals page and all the good games and gems get buried. I know that Xbox and PlayStation have those as well but for the most part they are kind of at the bottom of every list.
But Nintendo sees fit to just merge them in with AAA games.

Like the ones we see now are $30 full price on sale for 6c, like really? Or the clone of a clone of a clone games that seem to hit the top few pages of the deals all the time.

@Lordplops That just isnt true. There are some good titles buried miles into the eshops terrible interface. Even just looking through the deals the store loads painfully slow and has no organization to it. Theres a flood of these mobile ports that say they are $30 then go on sale for a few cents, then miles at the bottom are the gems.
The eshop is the absolute worst in design.

Talking about copying the controller did anyone hear the chime at the start at realizing they even stole that sound effect from Nintendo??

I mean, the last good Sonic game (By Sega) was Sonic and Knuckles. Even Adventures was...meh. Dont get me wrong, i grew up with Sonic not Mario. But man This studio just does not give a ***** about its IP

Why does it look so...terrible? It looks like Gameboy Advance or DS era graphics. Theres no life or soul to it,..its just flat.
At least Stardwaw valley looked alive and detailed even in 2d.

Of course they are, is anyone surprised? I loved my Switch but lets face it, most people have another system and the games are always cheaper on PS4 and Xbox than they are on eshop. People tend to buy the Switch for the 1st party games.

I always wonder if Nintendo is just racist towards Canadians lol. Same with sales, half the time the US get good deals and Canada get sweet FA

How we dont have a remaster of this yet is beyond me.

Dont think we needed NDP numbers to prove that. Everyones at home, they have no compeition for hand held and new gen is going soon so no one is buying the PS4 and XOne

Is Nintendo just super lazy when it comes to UIs? Launched in 2017 and they haven't added a damn thing. ITs the exact same UI now as it was in 2017.

@fafonio Lets face it, The Pokemon Company is scared to do much new and show little value in their own brand. They make the same games over and over with minimal differences. Then when they try something kind of new they put minimal effort and budget into it.

Just look at Sword and Shield. Every chance to blow everyone away and do a true pen world..then cut corners at every chance. They know they can phone it in an still make a profit.

Complaining about the price but ignores the fact that ALL of the Wii and Wii U re-re-releases have the same or higher price point...you cant have it both ways. Dont complain about the price of this but then pay full price for the third release of the same Nintendo game

That's a huge no from me. Their online store and their whole relationship with the digital age is far too behind everyone else to make it viable. Its also likely the console wouldn't lose much in price just for that. A disc drive is much more expensive than just a cartridge slot.
Their price fixing would also deter me big time.

Nintendo is so backwards when it comes to the internet age. Poorly online gaming and chat, their insane Youtube policies, the ban of all ROMs everything. I get the ROM thing is to protect their interests but so many of those titles just arent available anywhere else. And banning mods etc this stuff normally helps the industry not harm it. Why are they so archaic in their online presence.

Pikmin and Xenoblade sure, i dont think they got the love they deserved. But the others had their time and some have even be released several times. And we all know Nintendo would still charge full retail for a Gamecube game, like Twilight Princess, an that is just total BS

@riki_sidekicks Maybe more than $40 then, make it $50. $85 was only because it was a limited run game and went out of print so it became a collector's item . It was an artificial price jump that's all.

But it's just a HD remaster with a few extras like all the others they keep shoving in the Switch. Nintendo just gouges for HD remakes.

Look at Super Mario and Luigi. They did nothing to it..just ported it..and that was still full price. It's just what Nintendo does.

Don't get me wrong the game is fantastic but Nintendo constant HD ports at full price is against everything else in the industry.

Amazing game but there is no doubt Nintendo fill be greedy and charge full price as always. Makes it an immediate no. Should be $40 max
