Update: Nintendo of Europe's huge Cyber Deals sale ends tomorrow, so consider this your last warning to stock up on lots of lovely new games before the holidays. You can see the sale highlights below, but there are plenty more deals to be found on the eShop.
Original Article (Wed 25th Nov, 2020 14:20 GMT): Nintendo of Europe has announced plans to kick off a Cyber Deals sale on the Nintendo eShop this week.
The event will allow fans to pick up top games at discounted prices, with some offers as high as 75% off, and is scheduled to start this Thursday at 3pm CET.
It would make sense to assume that this sale will follow in the footsteps of Nintendo of America's current Cyber Deals sale, which also has plenty of great titles on offer. Here are the sale's highlights:

Let me guess... Almost 4-year-old Nintendo games will get the 33% off treatment for the 4th time in a row.
Unlikely to happen but if Link's Awakening gets a discount of that magnitude I might be tempted to pick it up.
I maxed out my eShop balance of $300 (AUD) today thanks to eShop cards being 15% off here so hopefully a few games from my wish list go on sale this week.
Can I get Captain Toad for a decent price please Mr Nintendo? Ta v'ry much
I'm hoping for a Luigis Mansion 3 price drop, I've been dying to play that.
Standard 33% off on older first party games and then the 75% off of the usual shovelware thats always on sale on the e-shop.
I've yet to see a decent sale on Switch games.
@BenAV You can max out your eShop balance? Can't relate 😅
@Nightwalker
The 33 "off" are the regular Price in that Case.
It is like a Game i had on my Wishlist on Steam for Years where i've got every couple of Weeks a Discount of 90%.
@Kimyonaakuma Haha yeah, there's a limit to how many funds you can add at a time. Most of the time there's no real reason to add that much to your account at once though.
@ZeldaFanboy78 Yep, it's pretty great. They don't go on sale too often but I take full advantage when they do.
Civ VI is £14 odd on Xbox but I fancied the Switch version, so good to see that is in the sale. Will check it out on Thursday and maybe others if they are good deals.
Went ahead and got Ni No Kuni for 14.99
Metro redux. Already have DBZ
Interesting to see Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze on sale in Europe but not the US, hope it goes on sale in the US SOON
When does a 'sale price' become the normal price?
Not much here that hasn't been offered many times already price-wise.
Practically guaranteed it won't happen, but I wonder if there will be any quiet first-party discounts for games on 3DS and Wii U and DLC on those platforms...
Nah, this is Nintendo, that won't happen.
@ZeldaFanboy78 all of which are old ports that probably still cost more on sale than they would on steam or the PS.
How much did you pay for Doom on Switch as Eternal is currently on sale for £18 lol
Have $40 credit on the US eshop so I’ll hold off spending that until I can compare EU vs US prices. Meanwhile I’ll try and complete DQ11; can’t be far now...
I want to pick up some games that are never on sale, like Baldurs Gate or some FX pinball tables.
@FargusPelagius The Switch Port of Civ6 is absolutely great - normally I play those kind of games on PC, but I gave this one a chance and am not disappointed. The fact that you can play everywhere is great for such a time-consumer as Civ.
@Nightwalker Yup same as usual..Nintendo doing their usual garbage of price locking games for no good reason. Thats the one thing i still hate about Nintendo.
Still waiting for Obra Dinn to go on sale. AFAIK, it’s never had a price cut on Switch...
Can't wait for the full reveal. I hope I'll get to give my wishlist a long overdue trimming.
Couldn't they therefore claim its a sale of "up to 84%" off based on that Dragonball price?
@BongoBongo
That trick could only work so many times. They caught on.
@Ainz Link's Awakening has a 33% discount in NA, so it's likely Europe will get the same.
I loved my time with it.
I think I'll pick up one or both of the Metro games.
Most of the major retail and major indies that I wanted I have already downloaded. It's a case of looking at my extensive wishlist and seeing what is discounted on that. And if significantly so.
Once again, already bought those that interests me.
So is this in conjunction with the EU’s Black Friday sale?
And here I was hoping for Pokémon: Let's Go...
@fatleon5 I got that earlier this year at full price. Worth every penny.
@Krull you missed it. There was one a month or so back to celebrate its anniversary (on all platforms). Sorry to be the bearer of bad news
@Krull Same, if it I buy it full price it will definitely be on sale the next week
I hope ryza gets a big discount.realy want to play it but dont wanna spend 60 because im saving all the money i can to go on a nice long trip once corona is finally over
@Big_Fudge you missed it too?
@Krull it went on sale once for the first time about three weeks ago. It was a random flash sale that started Friday and ended Sunday. It was bizarre. I stumbled upon it by accident. 50% off too
Wow what a load of tosh.
It’s the same old, same old, same old sale.
Damn, I'm still way behind on Tales (early Eternia, and nowhere fast - especially since the charger's demise left my PSP sessions as much sparser as my computer USB opportunities are), but if Vesperia really plunges down to 900 rubles or so... I'll certainly be tempted. FighterZ is another great deal but usually outweighed by my lukewarm interest in Dragon Ball franchise itself - and this fortnight's sales already include Guilty Gear among ASW's fighter offerings. Might keep an eye on Civ VI as well, in case the expansions drop the price.
Then again, who am I kidding? We don't even know the full list yet, and there are high odds there will be something drawing my potential eShop investments (all the more limited since I bet this sale will NOT live to see December 4) - even setting aside or, if need be, overriding my earlier plans for the nearest future. Although not all of them shall be overridden - there's no way I'm leaving that -90% Legrand Legacy on the table, for instance.
These are regular discounts we've seen multiple times per year. What's the point of calling it anything special?
I might get spyro if it’s cheap enough
Maybe fire emblem
Got FE3H, reduce the dlc and I may bite
Been waiting for a Dark Souls sale for ages!
Yay!
Still very high in price 😱
Tales of vesperia at £10! Think I will get that as I really want something to get my teeth into
@Gasarakii You can buy it from a European eshop easily enough. No need to wait.
@Murbs 🤬 Oh well! The most annoying thing about that, is that I’d seen it was on sale on Steam, but didn’t check Switch until what most have been a day or two later...
@Krull If it makes you feel any better I missed out on Obra Dinn too. Although I saw it on sale, left it and thought I'd get it another time then forgot. Oh well.
Problem is I want the physicals so will see which games I can get in cartridge form. Three Houses is my top pick.
@Nightwalker OMG, at the time of writing this comment... you have 33 likes!
There are a few titles that are used on every sale to justify the 75% discount offer.
Lego City
Dragons Dogma
Mario + Rabbids
That is not what Black Friday is about.
If the season pass for three houses is on sale also then I don't see myself getting anything from the list above as I already have them or not interested. I will wait and see what else will be on sale.
Loads of savings on loads of games ... yet people still moaning 🤦🏼♂️ Lord give me strength
@popey1980 This is the way.
Will Nintendo ever ever put their overpriced DLC on sale?
I might go for either xenoblade chronicle DE or wonderful 101 remastered, other than that nothing interesting really.
I got The Sims 2 for $11 on PS4.
25% off Fire Emblem, Zelda and DKC no thanks, can pick up the physical for around the same price.
@Entwickler yeah I am hoping it is a similar price to the current Xbox sale, otherwise I may get it on there. Companies don't realise they are competing with themselves with sales sometimes. A license to play a video game should either, be universally the same price, or let you use the license across any hardware you own.
@MS7000 as I recall they did do some discounts last year, unfortunately nothing I wanted digital was on there (usual Capcom games for £3 Resi, street fighter that everyone should already have). Will check out those shops later today as I still regularly play my older consoles. Blasted through Black ops 2 last night. to say DF pooed it for dipping to 26 FPS, literally fast killing everyone with a correctly calibrated wiimote setup will never get old or be "slow".
@zool I have never seen Dragons Dogma go below £10 here in the U.K. if it went to £6 like it does on every other Platform (including PC), I would have got it ages ago. You are right about Rabbids and Lego tho, despite being good games they are heavily discounted often.
The old games, first and third party, have the same discounts as last year.
@FargusPelagius
A physical copy of Lego City in most outlets is priced under £25 and on the Nintendo shop it's always £50.
So when Nintendo discount it, it's not really a 75% discount, it's only about 12%.
Companies do this to mislead buyers into thinking the sale is better than it really is.
Huge cyber deals?
....but these are the normal discounts.
Some great deals here .... still won’t be enough for some of the moaners on here
@zool It's not to mislead consumers. It is a discount from the RRP. They're not going to discount the RRP. Companies aren't stupid. There is nothing iffy about it.
Well, Tales of Vesperia is tempting me...
Dark souls for me
SlimeSan is 3 quid. If you love platformers, you will love this!
Happily disappointed here. I was hoping for discounts on Pokémon and paper Mario, but also didn't want to spend the money yet!
But Dragonball fighterz being the same price as on other consoles means I'll finally pick it up
@popey1980, its not a case of people moaning, its that people are annoyed at how game prices stay artificially inflated on the Switch compared to other consoles.
Skyrim is £25 on sale vs £15 in the PS black Friday sale - how can you justify a £10 console specific mark up on a ten year old game?
This is pretty much consistent with most games on the console, you want to play it on the switch be prepared to pay 30% Nintentax for the privilege.
@sandman89 its like 20 now. Definitely worth it. Awesome trilogy 😀
@tanaka2687 Other stores sell it for £25 or less, as a general price not a sale price.
Nintendo use this game, keeping it at an unrealistic price so that it is seen as a great deal.
Why is Dragon Quest Builders 2 still $1000?
I know that DQB1 is on sale, but still.
@dw4smash I’ve got it now looking forward to it 😊
Another year, another sad Switch sale.
Best deals are third party games, like Borderlands and Bioshock. Games I already have.
You forgot xcom 2 -60% and Crysis -35%
Got Tales os Vesperia (Finally!! 😁) amd Super Bomberman R (as i loved the bombermans games on my youth)
I really fancy astral chain, might get a physical after Christmas though. Might finally pull the trigger on Dragon Ball Fighterz at that price. Forager is a good price now too. I could see myself sinking hours into that.
At least you can buy Doom 64 for just 2.5€
Quite tempted by Crysis. been waiting on a sale for that
Selected Sega AGES and selected Hamster titles discounted
@PapaMurphy Astral chain is fantastic,really loved playing that. The soundtrack is great too
Astral Chain all it's hyped to be? Normally [prefer physical but it's interested me for a while
Wandersong is a fiver now. I'm having that!
@PlayedNSlayed I watched the trailer for it again last night, yeah it looks incredible. I've nearly finished Dragon Quest 11, that could well be the next meaty endeavour.
DQ11 is another one in my backlog too😄. I've lent that to my daughter currently as she liked the look of it. I might check out a few more reviews on Crysis before I decide
Okay I know how Nintendo can make their sales feel different from the competition. These deals aren't as strong as on some other platforms (actually every other current platform). They need to use the voucher system to their advantage. Say everyone with an NSO subscription gets 1 game of their choice at 75% off. Then these deals are just the sweetener for the money you saved. This keeps players invested in the eshop and not spending as much money on other platforms with comparatively better deals.
@Jedge396 it is good, infact it is incredible sometimes. However it didn't compel me to play it as I didn't actually get on with the controls. I'll admit it, I was rubbish with them like I was with Metal Gear Rising Revengence. It is odd, because I was fine with W101, Bayo 2 was a joy to play as was Transformers and even Star Fox Zero (which has the most divisive control s ever created-i love them). I will have to give it another go as I got it for £30 last year and lost interest a few hours in, because the controls didn't click. But everything else about the game was pure Platinum awesome.
@PlayedNSlayed mate, DQ11 is unreal. I didn't really think I was a jrpg kind of guy, but I liked the demo and it just hooked me straight away. Top, top game.
@ChaosBadger777 agree
@popey1980 the same 20 games with the same % off, came on mate....
Lol! I have checked and found nothing extra here. I spent my money on the Playstation Store where I found much better discounts...
@BenAV
Serious, sale on eshop cards????
Last chance? Sales will happen again for the Game Awards. And for Christmas. And the New years sales. And Spring sales. And Summer sales. And Halloween sales. And Black Friday sales again. .
@The-Chosen-one Yeah it happens at various retailers here now and then. First time in a while though.
@Entwickler i got civ6 at the beginning of the year when it was also on sale but i found it so hard for some reason. I didnt have a clue what i was doing and why i was doing it. Even tried following some online tutorials but it didnt click with me. Really wanted to understand it so badly.
@Ainz, you are in luck then. it is discounted.
I noticed but thanks for the heads up.
I bought Bioshock trilogy i never played the second and third
@Jedge396 I think it depends on what kind of games you like but I really enjoyed Astral Chain. It’s one of my favorites for the system.
I bought Dark Souls and Skyrim for half price.
VERY, VERY satisfied with them.
@BenAV
Wow nice, never saw one online, will keep my eyes open from now on lol.
Just buy zelda, wonderful 101, spyro, xenoblade 2 torna, fire emblem dlc
