@topher6490 Right! Like..why so many obscure games no one cares about instead of the titles that made the system. Id play the ***** out of some Clay Fighter though. But these ive never heard of
I will never get the love. I played the last one, to the first ending and didnt enjoy my time at all. Having to grind for hours and hours just to get the true ending was a hard no for me. The art style was the only redeeming thing.
I feel like this is going to seriously hurt Nintendo. They have had zero competition for years and now for $100 more you get something way more powerful with an insane library. Meanwhile the switch is still running 5 year old tech and a 5 year old OS with no real updates since launch. Nintendo still has its prime 1st party franchises but 1 major franchise release every 1 or 2 years wont do much.
Dont get me wrong, the Switch will still do well, of course it will. But i also hope this lights a fire under Nintendos ass and make them release the Switch and Switch OLED are very outdated tech and they cant rely on it.
Well yeah...no one is buying last gen and the PS5 and Xbox Series x are still sold out haha. Hard to not be the best selling when theres no competition haha.
I dont know if i have any. I've bought games that look good but everyone agree there were bad. But i tend to have really good taste in games.
Edit: Wait...i thought of one, a big one that was super divisive. I loved Final Fantasy 13. I though the art style was great, the music was epic, the story drew me in, i even liked the fast battle battle system as it was a refreshing change. I even loved the corridor gameplay. I get so tired of every game trying to be open world, sometime i just want a straight forward game where i dont get distracted by side stories.
I will admit, i got 20 hours in, gave up and took me a year or 2 to go back. But when i fully read the lore and pay attention to the story i loved every minute of it. 13-2 less so, was not a fan. LR I haven't played.
If you dont have one and use it in handheld a lot then sure, its not much more for a better screen.
If you already have one then its virtually pointless and a waste of money for all but the die hard Nintendo fans that think they can do no wrong. Less than an extra inch on the screen and slightly better colours and brighter screen is just a waste of money.
@progx Thats what you took from that? haha. This isnt Nintendo being nice, this is Nintendo doing the opposite of what fans wanted and the fan boys are praising them for it.
Sony dropped the OLED because LCD was easier and quicker to manufacture and, at the time, LCD was far more reliable and easier to make slimmer to the second gen vita could be slimmer than the original. They didnt drop it to be dicks, they dropped it but it made sense to drop it.
@johnvboy Less than an inch bigger..that doesnt seem like a waste to you? Keep in mind the PlayStation Vita, from 2011, had an OLED Screen. It was basically a little bit brighter and the colours for more vivid but only if you compared it to an LCD.
@BenAV Its really not that big of an improvement though. Less than an inch extra and OLED will make the colours a little more vivid, maybe. But that is literally it.
@NeonPizza You can buy white decals super cheap. If you are on the fence I'll give some friendly advice. I'm a huge techy, PS5, Xbox Series X, Switch, High end PC, i have all the cool gadgets, even an 8k, which even i know was pointless but its awesome. This just isnt worth it.
The screen is less an an inch bigger and you can buy a USB Ethernet Adapter already. You'd be spending hundreds just to change it from black to white when you can get decals.
@VoidofLight The current one is 6.2" the new one is 7"...No one is going to notice that difference. Just people trying to convince themselves for wasting money haha
@BenAV Lol dont worry, i doubt that'll happen until Nintendo deliberate keep manufacturing low to build hype. Why buy it, i mean...really. A slightly bigger screen and a better kick stand...woop. No reason to upgrade so the only people buying it will be scalpers and die hard Nintendo fan boys.
So out of all the things people actually wanted. We got 1 feature..the better stand in table top mode. No 4k, no docked improvement...nothing. Just a slightly better screen and slightly better speakers. How is Nintendo so out of touch with the fanbase.
@bluedogrulez Doesn't it? What about all the Wii and Wii U games that they re-release, at full price, with minimal work? That kind of seems like monetization of old IPs
I wonder what a 4k remake of Sonic Adventures would look and play like? I feel like the biggest issue with 3d sonic games is the camera is always terrible and just doesnt work for the faster scenes. But in 60fps it might not be so bad
Probably not best to embrace the fanfiction community. Just leave them be with their weird pregnant sonic fanfiction. Just em...let them stay over there in the dark corner.
@Snatcher Ah my bad i actually missed the sub title. I was joking anyway, although im confused as i had no idea some of those were ever on a Nintendo System. Like Sonic 3 and Chaos
At what point does that mean they "Dominated"? Having the most people watching in no way means they dominated. What with all this stupid head lines? Xbox dominated with content, gameplay, surprises, Gamepass content, new unexpected games. Nintendo showed 2 new games and a bunch of stuff we already knew about.
I get this is a Nintendo based site but Jesus at least have some logic.
I really dislike how they treated this franchise, its such a damn mess. 1st one gets a remaster in 60fps in 4k. 2nd one is Switch only, as Nintendo funded it, so we will never get a 4k remaster and it NEVER goes on sale so its old and still full price for some stupid reason. And 3 just doesnt seem to even exist beyond a logo. Such a mess.
@Bolt_Strike As for creativity, Nintendo didnt show that either. Mario Party is mostly just all the classic games with some twists. Everything else was just a small mechanic added. Lets not forget that Nintendo charge full price for remakes with no price reduction and rare sales. But Microsoft announced a massive amount of games coming to Gamepass for no additional cost. Thats a hugeee deal.
@Bolt_Strike So you picked 3 games from their biggest franchises and ignored everything else and all the gamepass content? They showed gameplay for Forza 5, plenty of it. Last i checked Nintendo showed nothing original. Metroid (Sequel), Shin Megami Tensai (Sequel), Mario Party (sequel), Breath of the wild 2 (Sequel), Advanced wars (Remaster), Mario War (Sequel), Fatal Frame (Remaster). I dont see any originals, no new IPs nothing.
@Slowdive Its more than people are going heavy saying it was the best Nintendo e3 ever when really it was just ok. Dont get me wrong BotW2 looks amazing, the new Metroid 2d game was unexpected. But beyond that, more surprises would have been nice.
Blows my damn mind that anyone thinks Nintendo had a good E3. It was ok, wasnt the worst, but it was super super boring. I have PS5/XSX/Switch, i usually sway to my PS5 more but was super excited for Nintendo. Xbox had it, lots of different types of games and loads of gamepass content. Nintendo didnt reveal anything that was surprising other than Metroid.
@Slowdive You actually believed that? Xbox had 30 games, a lot of original ones, huge Gamepass content updates, some completely new, unheard of games.
Nintendo revealed another smash character, footage of games we already knew existed, an HD remake and one big surprise with the new Metroid game. It wasnt packed with great games at all. It was stuff we already knew about about from 2.
@Azooooz One of the best? Man that bar must be low. One big reveal with Metroid, a good reveal with Advanced wars and the best was stuff we already knew. I found it one of the most boring, and i dont think im alone in that haha
Did it? It was...ok...but "Excellent" is one hell of a stretch. The only unexpected reveal was the new Metroid game. Beyond that it was incredibly boring.

@falconlord5 EAs twitter was slammed by negative comments about that. Not releasing games made for console on console was absolutely stupid.
Re: Soapbox: Can We Just Announce All Platforms At The Same Time Already?
@zool Reduction in quality is a Nintendo problem, thats why a pro would have been perfect. Not a dev issue unfortunately.

Big article to answer a super simple question.
