Re: Teardown Suggests The Switch OLED Dock Is 4K 60fps-Ready And 'Future Proof'

earthinheritor

I honestly don't see the point in the article. 4k HDMI cables are more mass produced and more standard and so probably cheaper for them to buy in mass quantities and the same goes for the HDMI port itself. The old non 4k ones may not even be in production now and Nintendo is still a decade behind everyone else.

So the only news here is Nintendo's tech is outdated so the only option is for current generation parts.

Re: Gallery: Feast Your Eyes On 21 Screenshots Of Bayonetta 3

Let's all be honest here. As much as im excited for this i would be far more excited if it was on any other system other than the Switch.

Bayonetta is such a fast paced high octane game and being on another system in 60FPS an 4k would really bring this game to life. Not saying it will be bad on Switch im just saying we know the Switch wont do it justice.

@Crockin Honestly though it just feels like lazy writing in some reviews and gets way over used. Its also been used to hurt a games chances before too.
As another reply said to me comment, how many times have we seen "Souls like" using used? Some developers even disliked it because it made them sound like a copy cat and devalued the work they put in.

We don't do it with anything else. If a new horror FPS comes out we dont call it a Doom-like.
We dont see a new racing game and call it a Gran Turismo-Like.

Re: Random: This Nintendo Switch UI Redesign Makes The Home Menu And eShop Look Like Apple's iOS

@johnvboy They dont care though. Fas have been asking for changes since the day the system launched and they haven't even attempted to make changes or updates.

Xbox is wayyy too cluttered for sure. But the majority of people have been pestering Nintendo for t least some basic QOL features and they haven't listened to anyone.
The eShop is also an utter disaster even 4 years on. It loads horrifical slow, the garbage floats to the top when good content is hidden.

It's pretty clear they dont listen or really care.

4 years and we haven't had a single update to the UI, that's pretty horrible. They even have themes in the settings..and its just black or white.
I love Nintendo but they have this major problem where after launch they just forget the hardware exists other than some basic patchs.

Meanwhile Xbox and PlayStation continually evolve. New options, new features everything.

Nintendo cant even be bothered to give people wallpapers.

Re: THQ Nordic Teases Six New Game Announcements In Geoff Keighley-Hosted Showcase

@Richnj Digging into it more gets even more interesting. THQ Nordic and Deep Silver worked together to re-form Free Radical Studio and according to a report from THQ and Deep Silver they announced they do have plans for the future and are working on something new in the franchise.
So yes the parent company, Koch Media but internally they started Free Radical again.

So while an HD collection is likely they revived the entire studio just to build a new Time Splitters. The store was on Polygon as of May 2021 with quotes from the dev team and company.

Official Tweet:

It seems that Deep Silver will actually own Free Radical. And its been formed with some of the old team.
So i doubt they will show a new game already but its definitely in production now. They said they already have amazing plans for Timesplitters and everything is in motion to reboot the franchise.

@Dr_Lugae SE I get because they have the pixel remasters on PC and mobile now. Some franchises like that wouldnt make sense.
but there are a lot of dead franchises.

To be honest, this is why I strongly dislike when Nintendo attacks the ROM sites. The majority of games are just impossible to play any other way now other than whats on the online service.
It doesn't hurt Nintendo financially one little bit. So its just being petty.

There's 1757 games with 717 in NA and Switch online has less than 50. So forcing ROM sites with NES and SNES games to close is just Nintendo being petty. It cost them more in legal documents to force them to shut down.

Re: Rumour: Could Monolith Soft's Website Be A Hint At A Xenoblade 3 Nintendo Direct?

earthinheritor

@HeadPirate We dont know that no ones working on it, yes its unlikely but not impossible at all.

You also say "My hype" but i dont have hype for it because we know its nothing more than a pipe dream.
Raising engagement of posts is exactly what encourages them to make more games and make remasters. Loads of game companies have said if theres interest we will do it and have followed through.

As for being the lowest selling, thats 800k units on a console that was considered a massive failure even by Nintendo.
the Wii U sold about 13m units so 900k sales on a console that only sold 13m consoles is actually really good by comparison.
Especially when you consider the Wii was one of the best selling consoles and only did 100k more.

The Wii U sold 13m units but XCX sold 800k
The Wii sold 101.63m but 900k copies of XC1
So by comparison X did incredibly well for a failed console.
So just 100k units more for a console that sold insanely well would show that X actually did better really.

So it doesn't fully indicate the only way to go is a new game.
They did clearly express a desire and want to remake X but would need to see a demand for it. X1 selling well shows them that desire for more Xenoblade is there, be it new or remaster.

So while it is very unlikely, so there is no hype, it is by no means impossible and there is a desire from fans and the original creator.

Its highly unlikely as well but they could absolutely outsource a remaster. Thats what virtually every other dev has done and its worked incredibly well. there are now entire companies that JUST do remasters. Again for some reason Nintendo seems to be against that which makes little sense.

So the sales data for Wii U games is EXACTLY why we are getting all these Switch remasters. Because none of them sold well so now they are porting them to make the money they didnt the first time around.

Re: Feature: Game Boy Games We'd Love To See On Nintendo Switch Online

Honestly I think Nintendo is seriously wasting a good opportunity with the Online service. Most of the NES and SNES titles have been unheard of games are have been kind of meh, with a few exceptions.
Adding GB, GBA, N64, GC games would seriously ramp up the value. I seriously doubt there is any reason why they cant do this other than..they just cant be bothered.
