It's all the rage these days to have a rumour circulating that your game might be coming to Switch, and today it's the turn of the NSFW turn-based RPG South Park: The Fractured But Whole. The superhero-themed sequel was a underrated gem in 2017, and a new listing suggests it could be headed for Nintendo's newest hardware on 13th March.
Australian retailer Sanity has a placeholder for the game up on its Coming Soon section - you can't pre-order it but it's still there as of writing. It's down as AUS$89.99 (that's about £50 or so) so its pricing is roughly in line with Switch ports of the past. SP:TFBW is certainly a good fit for Switch, but performance issues with the first game on previous gen hardware make us take this listing with a fistful of salt.
Would you like to take South Park's latest offensive adventure with you? Does it make a good fit for Nintendo Switch? Tell all, below...

That would be a day 1 buy for me. Big reason I cancelled my pre-order on my other system is that I'd much prefer it on the switch. That portability is everything to me.
I’ll finally play this gem now
Gonna pass.
Awesome!? Although why would they not have put this in the direct if it were true?
Meant to get it on PS4 last year but got sidetracked. Definitely taking the plunge on Switch if this turns out to be true.
Double dipping so hard on this if true!
Well, it's certainly not the most graphics-heavy title, so this should be totally within the realms of possibility for the Switch, and any additional third party title is welcome, if only to expand the catalog and offer more choices for more people.
Old rumour. I hope it's true.
That's a day 1 for me.
I actually just beat this game on PS4 yesterday. It will fit well with Switch. I wonder if Stick of Truth would be included?
@AJWolfTill There could be many factors as to why this was never mentioned in the Direct. Perhaps there is a bigger Direct where third parties will get more exposure prior to the release?
Anyway, this is something I may well get. Will depend on price and my overall money situation at the time.
This is a great game but I already 100% it on PS4. I would have held off of buying it if I had any idea it would have been on Switch.
@shonenjump86 I heard that Stick of Truth was made with an older engine so probably not. I don't know if it's true but I also heard Fractured But Whole was made with the Mario + Rabbids engine so it's easier for them to make a port.
I wish they'd release the first one that I've passed too. I'd get it on the Switch.
This butthole game makes Trump's [removed]hole comment looks innocent.
How this game get away with all the racist, sexist and perversity is beyond me. The 1st game Stick of Truth is just as bad... probably worse. And people were upset with semi-nudity in games? Southpark games should be classified as X-rated.
If true, it's a day 1 for me as well. Loved the first, despite not really caring about South Park anymore. I'll just need to return my other copy, lol.
Aw man. I would have waited if I knew this was coming. I played and loved it on PS4, but it would be perfect on Switch.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE I see, guess we will find out when UBI confirms this. I hope this rumor is true. I won’t double dip but people who haven’t played this game will enjoy it.
Amazing! When I played it I kept thinking - This would be perfect on the Switch. Ubisoft is making great choices on the Switch.
Can we have the first game for free as well?
YES YES YES YES! Loved Stick of Truth
Yes please
Awesome.
Would be a fine addition.
I'd be interested just to have a play around with the difficulty level selector
Please say this is true and its packaged with the first game. Wouldnt pay £50 unless it includes stick of truth
Why is this labeled as news rather than rumour? You do know that this site has such a tag, right?
Oh my god, PLEASE be true. I would love a fully portable version of this!
If this is true I'll probably get it.
@Djgoa A comment above says it's unlikely the first game will be ported due to it using an obsolete engine (Onyx)
I would love it if this were true!
I’d be interested in this one
That's my birthday!
@SLIGEACH_EIRE @shonenjump86
Games made in Snowdrop.
The Division
Mario + Rabbids
South Park TFBW
Starlink
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!!!!!
Never got to play this when I had a ps4. I would definitely pick it up if released. Hopefully we have some more surprises, I have most of the ports already announced and just released and want something new to play.
Pass, not my kinda thing. But happy for those that are going to pick it up and another game porting over to the console, - the more the merrier.
@Nincompoop Southpark is neither sexiest or raciest, quite the opposite, it makes fun of the people who are.
[removed]!!!!! I just bought this in PS4 last week! If I knew it was coming to switch I would have waited and bought it in that!
They really need to start announcing games so we know what is and isn’t coming this year.
Great game. Very surprising a SP game coming to a Nintendo console once again.
These types of games just aren't for me. But a welcome addition for many id imagine. Good news!
Not sure why the author brings up performance issues of the original as a factor, that game had a tough development not least due to the closure of THQ.
I always suspected this may come as soon as it was announced that both this and Mario Rabbids use the Snowdrop engine and given that games success it was just a matter of time.
I can't wait 😁
Sanity is probably just trying to watch the world (or Chibi Robo) burn, but it's a reasonable rumor considering Ubi's pivot on Switch and the long term trends suggesting a pivot was a good plan. It would take time to get a port from zero to retail if they pivoted around E3 time, and this title was rumored even back then.
Would be awesome if it really happened! This game looks great!
@Nincompoop Yeah, Southpark is......really raunchy. Normally it's not my thing at all, but somehow I manage to like South Park....the whole thing is a parody of American life basically, highlighting hypocrisy from among all sides of every debate, and hammering all sides pretty equally....which is really rare in "we only attack the wrong side" comedy today which is its own very special brand of hypocrisy mixed with an unhealthy dose of sermonizing masked as comedy. South Park takes no prisoners and denigrates absolutely everyone which, minus the potty (and worse) humor, is the way comedy should always be.
Sadly I fear most of the audience misses the actual parody and only enjoys the potty humor. But I'm also certain the Parkers make the show for the people who get it.
Would be a great game to play on the Switch, hopefully Stick of Truth is included. Who knows.
@Nincompoop lol
@NEStalgia I agree with everything you said. South Park is amazing for those reasons you described.
@E_Blackadder same, once the switch saw it’s succes I was 100% certain a switch port would come, so I held off buying the ps4 version (cancelled my collectors edition pre order)
Glad I did, hope it will come with stick of truth remastered.
Stick and Fractured = Day 1 buy for me.
Sweet... Loved Stick Of Truth, and have been wanting to play this, but haven't touched my PS4 much since Switch came out. This is a day 1 buy for me if true
@KingSandyRavage Mind your language! The profanity filter doesn't like those words.
I have it on PS4 and it's great. The combat system feels so much better than Stick of Truth. I don't feel the need to have it on Switch if it does come, but it's great that more people can get to play it. Be prepared for lots of fart jokes!
100% it on PS4, might double dip
To be was wondering why this was not announced yet. As the art style and visuals would not be to much for the system
Ha leave it to the retailer to tell you what the publisher of the game are suppose to tell.
More evidence for a late January Direct, eh?
I skipped this title on the PS4/X1 for the Switch version. Hope it's a possibility, along with Stick of Truth. Loved these games, perfect fit on the Switch too.
@Octane for that!?
Oh do it.
@KingSandyRavage Yes.
Not sure I'd label this news when nothing is confirmed, but let's hope it's true.
If it was, it'd also be nice with Stick of Truth available on eShop.
@Octane wow. Unbelievable
I played at EGX but wasn't sure I would want it for PS4 but on the Switch? Perfect!
@AJWolfTill
Maybe it be included in the rumoured other direct. Their was an article laat week about how a mini direct usually ends up follow by a big direct a few days to a week or two by a big one
South Park is no visual/technical showcase, so a Switch port could very well happen. Not sure about that date though...
@ThanosReXXX not sure if it's just poorly optimized, but my 5-year old i7 laptop (the same one that ran Stick of Truth with no problems) struggled to run this game. Was forced to install it on my newer desktop.
I hope the Switch version runs better, as this is a fantastic and hilarious game.
@Angelic_Lapras_King why for free?
@faint because other platforms got stick of truth remasterd for free when they bought fractured but whole physical or pre ordered digital. Like with bayonetta 1 and 2 on wiiU and on switch.
Pretty funny game. Enjoyed it on my xbox one. Too many fights and a couple we're overly hard, even on the baby casual difficulty I play turn based RPGs on. Enjoyed Stick of Truth more, but I bet south park fans who love RPGs and haven't picked it up yet should grab this game.
Would definitely buy eventually.
I tried this one a couple of times at conventions and have to say the gameplay is quite week. Also I never followed the series so even though I don't mind it this is not for me. However I heard the first one is a better RPG. I would like to see that coming to switch
Yes please.
@YummyHappyPills so The Divison is made using the same engine to? Has anyone played it? I thought there was a big online element to the game?
This should be labeled as a rumor. If true it's a day one purchase though!
@MarioBrickLayer It had a heavy online focus yeah.
But yes, to my surprise these games all share an engine. So I wouldn't be surprised to see anything in Snowdrop come over.
I'm always skeptical with rumors, but man, this title would be perfect for Switch. The bite-sized situations and scenarios in the game are perfect for portable gaming, the game looks great but isn't too hardware-demanding, and the Paper Mario-like battle system would hit home with Nintendo fans. Ubisoft would be silly not to release this on Switch.
@SomeWriter13 Hm, odd. Must indeed be something in the game itself then, but on first viewing, I didn't really see anything that looked decidedly taxing for any current system, whether it's console or PC.
I want this one. I have the Stick of truth for PS3. It was great. I would get this immediately. I hope it is true.
@darkswabber Exactly. While a digital download of Stick would be taxing space wise, at least we Nintendo gamers could start with the first game.
I'm not sure about this. If Ubisoft didn't confirm Rouge remastered for the Switch, which I only think is because they are unsure their more mature games will sell well on the Switch after how AC/Zombiu/Splinter Cell/Watch Dogs sold on Wii U, I highly doubt their are bringing a South Park game.
It would be day one for me though, we are not on the Wii U era anymore and I think this and Rouge would sell well.
One look at my profile picture will tell you how I feel about this ❤
@E_Blackadder
What are you doing here Edmund?
This is great for everyone that hasn’t played the game yet. Will definitely be double dipping on this game
@Oscarzxn Don't worry, it has nothing to do with their past mature games. Nothing sold on the WIi U!
March seems pretty soon since it wasn't in the Mini ND, but it's also South Park so it's also possible they didn't want it in the ND.
Not sure why any company wouldn't announce it's game coming to a system if it already has a release date though.
I probably wouldn't get it, but it would be a nice 3rd party game for Switch to have.
Pass. Already played it on PS4.
I was also thinking, wouldn't this be the first South Park game on a Nintendo console since the N64? I'm fairly confident it is.
Uhh... I still have yet to beat it on my PS4. Maybe if it came with the first game as well I might sell my PS4 copy
Fantastic game, but not as good as the first.
Bring it on
@Dezzy
Waiting for this game and Great Boo.
@AJWolfTill A lot of games missed the Direct. From what I've been told there was meant to be a few more games shown but they couldn't get a required "new trailer" fixed in for the deadline.
Least that is why A.O.T 2 and Atelier Lydie & Suelle didn't get a spot (both releasing March as well).
F trump that fruitcake Racist bigot and this game cause kids be acting like raging trolls learn new foul language and promote hate and racism because of these dumb awful darn games Facts.
Hope it's true! I'm not a big fan of playing on my laptop so I had been hoping this or The Stick of Truth (preferably both) came out on the Switch!
@SLIGEACH_EIRE there was supposed to be a gbc game but due to losing the license last minute it got resprited and became an original IP.
(crosses fingers tightly)
@SLIGEACH_EIRE South Park Rally in 2000, but the less said about that, the better.
@Nincompoop South Park is satire, it’s neither racist nor sexist.
This would be very welcome indeed!
It’s a really fun game. I bought it on PS4 when it was on sale for $24 last month. That’s a great price for 2 games (came with a digital code for Stick of Truth). It’s back up to full price now.
I'll believe it when I see it confirmed in a different market.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE didn’t the Cube have a South Park Game or 2?? Hmmm 🤔🤔
Not sure if my cup of coffee but if becomes official it will be another big 3rd party announcement for Switch gamers!
@Nincompoop
only if you're a dum dum.
@617Sqn no, it’s definitely both of those things. But if you can’t handle sexism and racism told in humor, then a humorous shoe that seeks to make light of sexism and racism isn’t for you.
Same for All in the Family.
South Park is one of my favorite TV shows. I wasn’t going to get the game on PS4, because I hate the PS4, it just doesn’t sparkle with me. I have bought many games for my PS4, but so far almost all of them remains untouched. The Switch however sparkles with me and getting the game on it would be total sunshine!
It would be nice if they included the original game like they did for the PS4/X1
@Phle I have been the same way. My PS4 has been collecting dust and barely gets any use compared to my Switch and Xbox One, and it's not like I don't have that many games for my PS4, I just never seem to play them. I find myself playing most big titles on my Xbox while my Switch has all the indie games and Nintendo games. It feels like a perfect combo for my needs, and the Switch is the default travel system for me now.
@JayJ I just don’t like the PS4 controller. It doesn’t have a screen. I have problems concentrating and for some reason that has made me and the PS4 a bad combo. Sad actually, I wish I enjoyed it more. I play on the Wii U, the 3DS, my Mac (WoW) and the Switch. All except for the Mac has a touchscreen, but the Mac has a mouse and keyboard and that’s really accurate controls for WoW, and I really like it, so it works. I also play Pokémon Go on my iPhone, but that also is with a touchscreen.
I loved South Park for it's crude humor and "adult" jokes when I was a 12 year old watching it with my cousins against my mother's wishes.
But in college I had a roommate who kept Comedy Central on TV pretty much all day every day. And I no long like any of those shows simply from over saturation.
@ThanosReXXX I thought the same, too! It looks exactly like Stick of Truth, save for the really awesome semi-animated-comics introduction of each boss battle. So I was pretty shocked that my laptop couldn't run it.
Still, it was a great game and I highly highly recommend it if you are a fan of Southpark's humor. The gameplay is also decent enough to stand on its own, and offers more customization than Stick of Truth's system.
@SomeWriter13 I most definitely am. Proud owner of "South Park: The Movie", so it was definitely already on my radar...
@E_Blackadder
In that case, I must extend to you my most enthusiastic contrafibularities.
I enjoyed Stick of Truth, but I heard mixed things about its sequel. Given that it's on the Switch, I'm more tempted to buy it. The fact I can take it anywhere definitely sways me. I can't help but wonder if this means Stick of Truth will be coming to the Switch at some point, too.
Yessss! I was gonna have to “borrow” my brothers PS like I did for the PS3 game. Definite day 1 for me.
Slow news day, I see.
The same retailer also has The Stick of Truth for PS4/One listed as a standalone budget-priced release (though you can just as easily grab The Fractured But Whole for about the same price and get two games in one package).
Make of that what you will.
It's quite possible that it's coming, but I would hardly take the word of an Australian retailer (that has very low market share, with very few stores situated in metropolitan areas) as a source.
@Masurao When you've been waiting about 20 years for a South Park game on Nintendo hardware you can't afford to be nitpicking.
Spoiler
How is this game not racist? Right in the beginning of the game, you chose the difficulty based on your skin colour. They even made a joke that if you have dark skin in real life, you will have a difficult life. From what I seen on youtube, most people just laughed it off, but deep down inside they knew it's the truth. This game made a lot of racist and offensive comments and treats them as a joke, it's a strategic way to insult and provoke without having to bear any responsibility because 'it's a joke'. In one scene, the game even put all the black people of South Park in jail. That's a social commentary, Donald Trump should just declare "'My Sh*thole comment was just a joke, relax people, don't be offended."
And what's with the fascination of seeing your parent's having sex? The South Park writer has some mental childhood issue. This current game toned down the obscenity to avoid getting banned, if you had played the previous game you will know the whole section where you were forced to fight with some gnomes on your parent's bed while they were having sex. No other game on this planet is as messed up as these South Park games. And fighting zombie foetuses that wear Nazi armband? Is that a satire, who are they making fun of? Fetus?
Hope it is true and hope it includes a download of Stick of Truth like it did on other consoles.
Performance issues must be down the developer, the last game ran without issues on my crummy Linx10 Windows tablet!
@Nincompoop The difficultly slider is basically social commentary on American society in which being Hispanic or black will result in racial prejudice being directed at you in your everyday life. It is a statement of the facts.
The scene in which black people are sent to jail is commentary on racism in America from police officers, where everyday, blacks and Hispanics are murdered by those who are sworn to protect the American people.
The abortion clinic scene is making fun of Planned Parenthood, and the enduring disagreement between Liberials vs Conservatives on this issue. The reason they were Nazis is because the plot of the game (in which people were turned into Nazi zombies) demanded so.
As for the sex scene involving the sex scene, most of us thought is was funny. It was purposefully shocking and cathartic.
You have no idea what you’re talking about.
PS. Matt and Trey Parker, the writers of this game, are Libertarians who lean towards Liberal ideas, and have written progressive South Park episodes.
@starfox007 "As for the sex scene involving the sex scene, most of us thought is was funny. It was purposefully shocking and cathartic."
What? I have no idea what you're talking about.
@Nincompoop The scene where your main character's parents have sex. You even mentioned it in your original comment. You know what I'm talking about.
@starfox007 So it has no purpose, no social commentary, just to be shocking? Same with the alien *ss probing too? They are truly progressive materials for the liberals.
@Nincompoop its purpose is to be funny and shocking. They tried to push the envelope as much as they could to make a point about PC culture () and its pointlessness, as the scenes were written down for you. in Australia, for example, the censored scenes were replaced with a crying koala accompanied by text explaining what went on in graphic detail. It made quite a few people laugh, the same goes for the anal probing scene. If you don't think it's funny, that's fine, humor is subjective, you have the right to your own opinion.
@Pigeon I actually considered getting a PlayStation Vita many years back, before I got a PS4, but ended up deciding against it. I thought about it for several months. The reason is this: I already carry my 3DS, my iPhone and my iPod with me at all times, I don’t really have time for another handheld. That’s actually been a slight problem now that I have the Switch too. My purse is always stuffed, and I have been neglecting my 3DS because I use the Switch. It’s a bit unfortunate, as I like the 3DS more, it’s just difficult to use both at once. I also decided against an iPad for that very same reason. I don’t like having too many devices. I solved it by getting a large iPhone with lots of storage. I love all-in-one solutions. That’s also why I want apps on the Switch
