Everyone already figured it was just a matter of time; After War comes Death and according to an EB Game Canada listing, Death rides once more for all Switch owners this Summer. THQ Nordic has yet to officially confirm the game at this time, but we suspect that now that Death is out of... erm, wherever they store him between re-releases.
According to the listing, for $29.99 Switch owners can pick up (the once again 'puntasticly' titled) Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition on August 30, along with the following features:
- Play Death: Become the most feared of the legendary Four Horsemen, able to destroy entire worlds and battle forces beyond Heaven and Hell.
- Epic Universe: Unlike anything the player has seen before, delivered in the unique style of Joe Mad.
- Player Choice & Customization: Customize your experience with varied armour sets, weapons, and Skill Trees allowing players to create their own Death.
- Replay-ability: Explore a vast open world, complete dozens of side quests and customize your Death with a full levelling system, Skill Trees and endless equipment combinations.
- Traversal: Death is a nimble and agile character capable of incredible acrobatic feats allowing the player to explore the world like never before
Darksiders II was a launch title for the Wii U back in 2012 but sadly never received the complete DLC contents from other versions so this second coming of the Pale Rider to Nintendo platforms might be an excellent option for series completists to tick that off their bucket list. We here at the NL towers certainly foster great memories of Michael Wincott's voice work, Joe Madureira's unmistakable art and the game's otherworldly soundtrack by Jesper Kyd.
If that wasn't enough, EB Canada has also listed Biomutant for Switch. This is another game by THQ Nordic yet to be confirmed for the platform. According to the website, it will cost $59.99 and is due out on 30th March 2020. Here's the official description for the game along with a cinematic trailer:
Biomutant is an open-world, post-apocalyptic kung-fu fable RPG, with a unique martial arts styled combat system allowing you to mix melee, shooting and mutant ability action.
Did you avenge War before or will this be your first time impersonating Death? Do you hope to see the return of the 'Quality vs. Performance' option from Darksiders: Warmastered Edition? How about Biomutant - would you like to see it on the Switch? Make haste for the comments section for Death awaits for no man... or official announcements it would seem.

no surprise here. hopefully paving the way for the latest entry. apparently Biomutant is coming as well!
Nice to see. I have the game on Steam so I doubt I'll get it again unless it drops to $15 or less. Regardless, I'm glad to see another great come to the Switch. I think it's worth $30 for anyone who hasn't played it yet.
THQ with the 3D Open World support
I really want to see III on the Switch since I haven't played it yet.
Never bought this on the wii u or the ps3 when I had it, so definitely gonna go for a complete version. Biomutant is one i asked for, too.
I want it! Day one if it is just like Darksiders Warmastered edition on the Switch!
Btw Darksiders 1 is bigger in file size than Darksiders 2 so I hope there will be no surprises with half-downloads.
Oh neat. Was hoping for this option after buying the first game
Heck yeah. And other words of excitement.
THQ's support is ace!
@TempOr Biomutant isn't even out on any platforms. Unless you just mean Darksiders 2.
Anyways, i'm for one excited to see Biomutant for switch, Darksiders 2 on the other hand i'll probably skip. Since i already owned it on PC.
@Jayofmaya You misspelt deathinitely there
Can they stop with those god-awful subtitles lol??
@TempOr Why ? if you don't want the game, don't buy it ? how do ports affect your gaming ?
And that's 29.99 in Canadian pesos, so that'll be $20 US....
Woot woot
Biomutant is one of the few games I've been looking forward to. And Darksideds 2 was all but confirmed the minute the first one released and started selling so well on Switch.
@TempOr
Brand new, upcoming Biomutant listed for Switch
[first response... complain about ports]
If you're tired of seeing em, I guess that's just tough cookies my guy. Shouldn't let seeing great, fun games get a portable release bother you so much.
@TempOr so you're tired of seeing a certain kind of games but find it odd that someone else may get tired of seeing a certain kind of comments? Opinions cover a lot of subjects.
I loved this on Wii U but there was a game breaking glitch about half way through which meant I was stuck on a puzzle and couldn't progress. Hoping they've ironed out any issues this time around, I'd definitely double dip as it was a superb game up to that point.
Yes! I love Darskiders 2. The chance to play it on the go means I have to double dip yet another game I already own on WiiU...and Ps4. But I don't mind. I never paid full price on either machine, and I love this game. I used to be a PC gamer way back. I lost interest around 2008, and didn't pick up gaming again until 2014. This was one of the very first games I played. It was an early summer morning, the sun was shining through our coloured hippie curtains, and I felt great. This game just sucked me in from the get go. Oh the fond memories...
Digging the wordplay here.
Lets talk Jesper Kyd:
Wow, just... wow!
One of my favorite games. This is great.
I was just thinking this weekend how much I would love Biomutant on Switch. Is this even possible???
Biomutant would be a day one buy for me
Sweet, darksiders 2! Loved darksiders 1 but if this is right and it drops August 30th, it'll have to be put off for a bit. Aug 30 is astral chain day!
This was and is the best game in the series imo.
Cash ready anytime released, cash buying 😎
Now we talking. If true, BioMutant is a buy on Switch. Some open world on the GO. Great News!
I have all the Darksiders on PC. No need to buy again,
But that is fine... Announce something old and something new. Everyone is happy.
Sweet now I had to complete the first one in preparation for this one.
Mostly when we talk about mutation, it's the biological kind, but nice of them to specify.
