The Mewtwo amiibo Will Arrive in Europe on 23rd October

Gotta believe this guy is going to be mass produced and not scalper's main source of income come November.

This is great news. Wish it would have come a little earlier, but this date is fine. Hope Mewtwo and the other Pokemon are compatible in the next pokmon game. Has the Pokemon company announced it yet?

Great stuff, same release date as the modern Mario 8-bit Amiibo.

I guess by NA current release pattern, we wouldn't get it until first part of 2016. Also likely as a exclusive but I hope I'm wrong. Lucario, Greninja, and Jigglypuff as exclusives compares to Pikachu and Charizard everywhere.

@XCWarrior yea, mewtwo is popular enough to be mass produced. That's why I'm not worried about him. If anything, people should worry about lucas! Let's just hope mewtwo isn't a retail exclusive amiibo. Lucas probably will though(to gamestop). Also, he is the only known amiibo with a set release of october. Which means there will be enough mewtwo to go around for everyone!

Gamestop exclusive for NoA and a maximum of 2 per store. Calling it.

@Yrreiht I don't think he is going to be an exclusive. He is in the top 3 of most popular pokemon(only behind pikachu, & Charizard). Pikachu and Charizard were not exclusives, so mewtwo most likley won't be. Also, I think he will be mass produced!

But what about North America...

I still don't get the hype over this character. I hardly see anyone use it in tournaments.

Pokémon amiibo never have any functionality outside of Smash.

No NA announcement? No problem. With amiibo, we don't have to wait for NoA. I'll most likely import him.

@Squid_Gangster I hope so. With each new Smash bros Wave, the release gap becomes wider between EU and NA, more so after wave 4.

This being the release date for the first DLC character must mean Falco and Star Fox Zero must be coming out either same day or earlier!

I'll be sure to try to get one, especially since I love Pokemon so much. It was the Pokemon amiibo that got me addicted to amiibo in the first place.

Wow, Mewtwo looks great. I wonder if Nintendo would consider making some larger Amiibo figures in the future, maybe with some articulation in the arms. Action figures would be nice. I look forward to Mewtwo, Super Smash Bros trophy in real life.

Okay, I'm going to be honest to you guys. The amiibo crisis has ENDED, I don't know why we are all acting like: "Oh my gosh, how will I get this one?" Today, I went to my local GAME store and I saw 3 Rosalinas, 2 Greninjas and loads of more rares, just sitting there! C'mon, we need to be truthful to ourselves (unless it is different in other countries, and I am just being narrow-minded, LOL)

I assume that the amiibo will simply function as a NPC for players who have not purchased the DLC.

I've never been too hot on Mewtwo. There are dozens of other Pokémon that I would love to have seen in Smash (like Magikarp, just for giggles).

@XCWarrior The latest Amiibo waves have been very well stocked in the UK at least since June and restocks have been frequent so NOE at least have been upping their supply game at least.

@Angelic_Lapras_King Meanwhile, here in America, it was reported that only 172 gamers lost their lives will amiibo hunting last week. The worst incident was a case of a Walmart only stocking 1 Charizard amiibo and thinking putting it in their gun section was a good idea.... more at 11.

Betting Toys R Us exclusive to continue the theme. Roy and/or Ryu will probably be Gamestop Exclusive, because NoA really, REALLY loves screwing over NA for some reason.

I'm hoping that if this is an exclusive it goes to TRU. In my experience they handled the exclusivity situation the best by far having significant supply (+100 units) in-store at multiple locations.

Im guessing other DLC amiibo will be released this day in Europe also. And Im guessing America won't be getting these until early December time.

Quite the opposite actually. Europe gets their Amiibo MONTHS before North America. Case in point- wave 5a and 5b have been out in Europe for weeks, yet NA only just got the 2nd figure of those 7 a few days ago. Heck we barely even just got a release date for the remaining 5. Yarn Yoshi's- The entire world has had those for over a month yet NA won't see them until late October.

I'm guessing Lucas, Roy and Ryu won't be too far behind...I've got a BAD feeling about the amount of stock they'll have alongside Mewtwo...except for in areas like Australia and Europe. They've got all their crap together!
