Re: Stay Fresh With This Funky Splatoon Themed Album From GameChops

@DjCUTMAN good stuff on all the music. Especially in such a short time. A lot of remix albums can take years-- especially to even coordinate people.

I'm not as much a fan of the electronic or techno stuff, but still several of these tracks were far enough from that to catch my attention. Good grooves

I recognized bLiNd, do you do stuff on Overclocked too?

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Attempts To Explain Why Zelda Wii U Wasn't At E3 2015

coolaggro

E3 is for games this year and early next year? Yeah right.

At E3 you're supposed to announce games that will be out next year or the year following and then possibly have playable games or more information on games that you announced in previous years.
E3 is all about the more distant future and teasing, not about the immediate future and present.

Re: Editorial: Cheer Up, There Are Some Exciting Games on the Way

coolaggro

I think this is more about competition. PS4 and Xbone had some great announcements and Nintendo didn't really. All stuff we knew or aren't that excited about yet. Some of it was even a bit disappointing-- like Star Fox. Some of that is because of high expectations, but some of that is because the other companies delivered a powerful performance. Can't help but compare and when we do Nintendo comes up lacking.

Re: Nintendo Is A Slave To Its Past Success, Says Gearbox President Randy Pitchford

@Chris720 well asking for games like that sort of proves that Nintendo is indeed a slave to its past success. Chanting for reiterations of those games and what-not. Nintendo seems to only make new games if they have a new idea for that game and think it will be different and fun. If they don't have those, they won't release a sequel just for a sequels sake.

This interview comes at an interesting time because it seems like every other game series is trying to exclusively cater to its existing fans: elder scrolls, fable, mass effect, halo, COD, Assassin's Creed, Fifa, Forza, Gears of War, Final Fantasy, Fallout, Kingdom Hearts, Hitman, Tomb Raider, Metal Gear, Rainbow 6, Shenmue, Battlefront, Street Fighter, Tom Clancy, Uncharted, Deus Ex, Dark Souls, Doom

Re: Nintendo Is A Slave To Its Past Success, Says Gearbox President Randy Pitchford

Nintendo has problems but the interviewers didn't diagnose them correctly. Their problems are not enough 3rd party support for the Wii U and trying to cater almost exclusively to younger audiences. They're so afraid of any criticism from parents, or something, that they just end up seeming super kiddish. We want the Nintendo that brought over RE4 and Bayonetta and Devil's 3rd. The fact that they didn't include anything about Devil3 or Fatal Frame, or the fact that Star Fox looks very cartoonish, tell me that they don't want anything to do with seeming "adult".
And that sucks. You can do both Nintendo!!

Nintendo innovates with almost every game if they can. That's why Wind Waker was cel shaded, why skyward sword was motion controlled and didn't have an overworld in the traditional sense, look at Mario galaxy, even mario kart 8 (in a way). They get applauded for every innovation and even last year had the best E3 in a long time because they announced new IPs in Splatoon and Codename STEAM.

Re: Poll: Early Impressions on Splatoon and That All-Important Online Multiplayer

coolaggro

I keep getting kicked from games even though I have stable internet enough to play smash, heroes of the storm, LOL, watch Netflix, etc. I think it's that I have lag spikes perhaps? And so even a tiny break in the connection automatically kicks me. It says connection timeout or something along those lines. Very frustrating and for periods of the day I can't play.

Re: Feature: Why We're Still Playing... Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate After Dozens of Hours

coolaggro

The demo for 3U wasn't near as good, I think. Maybe try playing it with other people in the demo and it will be slightly better.

To be honest, the first missions aren't as fun either because you fight smaller monsters, of course. It's when you start hunting huge monsters regularly that the game continues to just be amazing. Give it at least 2 hours or so and you'll probably be hooked.

Re: Guide: Getting to Grips with the Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Demo

coolaggro

One note that might be confusing-- 1 attack on a "weak point" like the head will not show you that it is a weak point. In general, you do not get shown how much damage you do. The only minor clue that tells you if a point is a weak point or not is that the monster will react or flinch more frequently when the part is a weaker part.
That and the fact that you will kill the monster faster.

For anyone considering this or Majora's Mask, I would recommend getting this first. Majora's Mask is going to be a lot of fun, but MH4U is going to blow you away I am sure. It's unique and fun and addictive. The community is really fun and you'll be happy to be a part of it. I strongly recommend the new experience over the game you have played before. I love Majora's Mask a ton! And I still recommend MH4U that highly

Of course get both if you can!

Re: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Announcement Revealing its "True Potential" is on the Way

coolaggro

@ikki5 (and other people too)

Sakurai has worked over most weekends and holidays while preparing these games. He did so much testing and what-not himself that he got some problems in his wrists and arms and had to rest a bit more. Most Japanese work late at night anyway, but I'm sure he's there first thing in the morning and until night, just going home to sleep. Besides what do you care? Just go enjoy your smash on the 3DS

Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd October (North America)

coolaggro

@undead_terror thanks for the reply. I was just hoping it was available for a pre-download like they did in Japan before the release. Saves time on downloading I guess?
Anyway, yeah not a big deal but I'm sure others were curious too

Re: Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS Demo Smashes onto the EU eShop

coolaggro

@larryislife Link's boomerang actually seems useful! which is a nice change

@kalmaro
@thesmashbro69 Mario definitely is back to his Melee days of being viable it seems. Megaman is nice for a pure range character, which is fun. For the villager though, he seems to have really good potential. His bowling ball is a freakin meteor strike

Re: Nintendo Announces Super Smash Club for Canada

@blueblurninja btw I finally got my code. Better late than never I guess!!

As for the article, pretty cool idea. I'm definitely all for more organized smash meetups.

Re: Nintendo 64x64: Hybrid Heaven

I played this when it came out and loved it. Fun plot, good battle system, just hard enough. If anything, I thought the gun/zapper-thing mechanic was the thing that needed the most work.
Man I wanna whip out my N64 and play it again...
