Last week was rather exciting for those awaiting Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, as Nintendo provided a Nintendo Direct outlining over 50 'Must-See facts. That naturally played a big role in Masahiro Sakurai's Director's Room Miiverse community posts, as he focused solely on Wii U; we're not changing the name of this feature series so late in the day, though.
Beyond the Direct, Sakurai-san also teased a reveal video for a character that most with the 3DS game already know about — unless it's a surprising curve ball — but nevertheless showed what the Wii U visuals can bring; there were also details on trophies, settings and the Boxing Ring stage.
You can find those posts from last week below, then — click on the date heading to visit the posts in question and give them a Yeah.

Going clockwise from the top-left corner, here are the pictures that appear for Rules, Time Limit, Custom Fighters, Stage Choice, Damage Ratio, and Handicap.
In the Wii U version, you can customize additional rules from the beginning of the game. Here are the pictures displayed for Stock Time Limit, Team Attack, Pause Function, SD Penalty, Damage Display, and Score Display. You can almost hear Fox's cry in the picture displayed for SD Penalty settings.

And here's a stage prepared for a large number of fighters, Big Battlefield!! Fighters can spread out, so it should be easier battling on a stage like this.
So there you have it, let us know which were your favourites in the poll below.

First!... My favourite screen this week is the NES zapper
@Thomas Any clues as to when we can expect a review for this?
Xenoblade in hd thats what i m talking about looks awesome!
I would have prefered if Xenoblade X was as colorfoul as the first,it look so grey.
8-player mode is glorious.
Tough call between 8 player and big battlefield b/c they are 2 sides of the same coin for me, but went w/ 8 player b/c it's 8 player. And even if we knew the rumour about it it's still big news getting 8 player confirmed. And even if they confirmed 8 player can work wirelessly w/ a variety of controllers it still makes those adapters and Gamecube controllers look worthwhile if you can hook up 2 adapters and 8 wired controllers.
Has anybody confirmed 2 adapters at once? They do have 2 USB connectors each - 1 black and 1 gray though nobody will tell me why - and I believe there are 2 USB ports on both the front and back, though of course many people will have an external HDD hooked up to 1 (yes there are reasons more internal memory is better than relying on external).
So 8 player w/o a doubt. Though if there was a Stage Builder screenshot I would have picked that. Maybe next week
The original Smash Bros cast!
What's wrong with you!? -DK
The direct, because.
The original cast in 8-player mode!!! Such a cool photo.
I love the HD Xenoblade trophies, so I'll go with that one.
You kind of forced me to vote for the first one, in order to avoid being a hypocrite xD
8 player.
I always loved DK's taunt !
So did I just miss the duckhunt video then or what?
The menu rules because rules are awesome xD
Lol when I saw the direct I hyped so hard everything is awesome
Did they even show the DHD preview?
And I thought I was the only one that noticed the ''original 8''.
Finnaly, now all off them can fight wihtout having to pick only some.
@platoonleaderg
Reyn: ''Now that's what I'm talking about!''
Two Words: Reyn Time baby!!
@rjejr Some people over at Siliconera got to try out 8-player Smash and was able to confirm that it supports 8 Gamecube Controllers.
Just say it's Duck Hunt
@ZenTurtle It will actually be released 3 weeks on Friday in the US.I can't imagine this having an embargo and seeing as MK8 was reviewed well in advance of release day it is legit question .
@Iggly - Thanks, thats cool. Guess it's time to unplug my Wiispeak anyway. And I've have to unplug my Ethernet cable adapter as my wi-fi doesn't work in my basement but 8 player is offline anyway. And my external HDD but I'll be buying the game on disc. Maybe it's time Nintendo made a 4-port USB adapter to go along w/ the Gamecube adapter while they're at it.
Sorry for all the sarcasm, it's not directed at you, it's just Nintendo being Nintendo, and me being me.
Guess I'm the only one that couldn't decide so far. LOL I love all of them! This is going to be the best game this holiday! I'm LOVING it!
