Might just be me but I'm loving the infographics Nintendo release these days. I have a tonne of games to get through but maybe one day I'll pick up TOEM.
On the subject of Fall Guys, the release date is Q3 2021, so where better to announce than in an Indie World? (a Nintendo Direct probably, and it actually has reasonable probability of happening, if you look back at the February Direct)
I'm not sure, it was so long ago. I think it was Super Mario 64 DS or maybe Mario Kart Wii. Either way, the memories I made from those games will be a part of me forever.
@nessisonett Yes. But even if they could, they probably wouldn't... though it's easy to see why and the studio did look pretty spectacular up until they revealed it to be fake. Why spoil the authenticity by telling us this?
Kinda sad how all coverage of things like news and sports takes place in a environment that is revealed to be completely fake, with none of the authenticity it once had of the real place.
The only reason I can think of for changing that voice line is "boo" shows more frustration and sadness. But the contempt and sassiness of "whatever" was much better, really.
The problem with the Lite is that it underperforms in the two areas that define it: price (£50 more than the 3DS despite being bigger and less portable) and design (only slightly smaller, albeit more compact, than a regular Switch and removing what makes the Switch so unique and fantastic... it's just a generic console). The Lite is in the same position the 3DS was at first and a price drop is needed to keep it relevant in the gaming world.
The two that come to mind are Champions Road and Darker Side... but for 100%, not for fun. Back in the day, I also used to play 1-1 on New Super Mario Bros a lot for the iron fist feeling that was the Mega Mushroom.
@PoliticallyIncorrect It's a fair point you make... many people with poor mental health would have boosted confidence and emotions from seeing that game developers not only acknowledge them but show that they can be still strong and powerful people regardless of their mental state. I hope NL makes a feature showing games that feature this group of society in prominent roles.
@hillyarb Yeah, I know what you mean... Mario isn't really supposed to be realistic in its diversity (or at all). But New Donk City is realistic and therefore Nintendo needed to deliver on representation. And thankfully they did.
The Mario series struggles with diversity as it reuses characters a lot and doesn't create new ones very often. Therefore, I was quite happy to see a large proportion of black people among New Donk's residents in Odyssey, even if they just served as background characters. It's a start.
As much stick Nintendo gets for thing like overpriced ports and hardware and failed gimmicks, let's just remember that the people behind it DO try hard to make us fans happy.
Since I've never been really interested in Metroid before, I'll probably pick it up in a sale instead of at full price. Am very excited for when that happens.
BOTW, and just because I want to, trying to visit every location in West Necluda. Once that's finished, I am going to play Super Mario Bros 3 on Switch Online, pure platforming.

Finished Super Mario World. Time for one last play (allegedly) with Splatoon 2 before Splatoon 3.

No Super Mario Odyssey? At all? 😳
Re: Poll: Did Nintendo Deliver Its Best Ever Indie World Showcase?
I missed a lot of it but I can tell it was a good IW because I've seen very few complaints on this website about Silksong, despite no info.

Goombas naturally walk off ledges all the time, this is nothing out of the ordinary.

"Fee" for me. I must admit that "Figh" does sound more serious and (maybe) mythical.

Glad to see Captain Toad got the recognition it deserves, I always find myself back at that game after a while for the smiley feeling of it.
Also, where's Yoshi's Crafted World?

I'd be interested in knowing Among Us' sales for Switch (which I can't seem to find), it consistently breaks into the top half of this chart.

@Toads-Friend Me too . In my mind, SM3DW + BF has enough quality to compete with the big releases from other series.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 31st)
More of the SNES library on NSO, with Super Mario World and Super Mario Kart.
Re: Talking Point: What's Your Switch Game Of 2021 So Far?
I am ashamed to say I have only played 2 of the games on this poll. Lots look like my type of game as well (e.g. Overcooked, Game Builder Garage).

@TsukiDeity Sorry, must've missed that, somehow.

You look at these games and tell me that the SNES and NES libraries aren't one of the best (if not THE best) parts of NSO.

@Tourtus Not to mention Pokémon...
Re: Random: There's A New Hill In London, And People Think It Looks Like Super Mario 64
I don't see a similarity. The mountain in Bob-omb Battlefield was an "imperial mountaintop", "royal turf", this is anything but.
