@TomJ Who said I lived in the UK? When was I preaching at all? I'm just a simple lad observing the typical self-entitlement that comes with this time of year. I'll just hope and pray that you can struggle through these dark eShop times and find joy elsewhere in the holiday season.

Damn it! I saw the picture and for a split-second thought "Are they re-releasing A Wonderful Life?" So, why are they re-using AWL artwork for this game?

And as far as SoM goes, it looks sort of like the original SNES Harvest Moon, so I'll probably pick it up but it's definitely not the game I wanted from this franchise. Hopefully Story of Seasons will have a console entry soon.

This looks great! I think people need to calm down and a little and just take this for what it is: a fan project. People are raging about this like it's a trailer for the next Zelda game, it's just a guy who wanted to recreate a piece of a game he liked and show what he can do with 3D modeling. I think it looks great although I agree it doesn't quite feel like a Zelda game, but I really don't think that was the point.

Re: Video: Super Mario Maker Contains Secret Fly Swatting Mini Game

@gamekill Fair enough, that all makes sense to me. I just don't feel like anything was spoiled for me, and maybe I'm just taking the word "spoilers" too literally but I personally think it's something that ruins or lessens the experience of the game/movie/whatever. This didn't do that for me and I have a hard time believing this is going to ruin the game for anyone, but I guess it could lessen the excitement of finding it in-game for some people. Some other people seem genuinely offended and that just seems a bit ridiculous to me.

Re: Video: Super Mario Maker Contains Secret Fly Swatting Mini Game

@gamekill Okay, that's fine if all their readers are like you and want to avoid any tiny piece of information about an upcoming game; people like me, on the other hand, are interested to find these things out before the game is released. The surprise of finding it in-game might be a nice little treat but, at least for me, knowing it's in there just makes me want this game even more and I hardly feel like anything was "spoiled" for me.

You're exactly right, the internet is not a problem, it's the people who think every little bit of information is a spoiler and should be censored or not written about at all. As a "free open communication channel," don't you think the writer/website should have every right to report on this? Maybe they could've put a spoiler warning but then where do you draw the line? That's a slippery slope and soon every little bit of new information would need a spoiler warning like: "Spoilers: Zelda U will feature archery mini-game."

Sorry, I'm on a bit of a rant here but I don't think NL or the writer did anything wrong here. If anyone really has that much of a problem with it, then please go find one of these other sites that should have "a strong number of readers" that don't spoil anything about upcoming games, and enjoy reading the release date and looking at the box art over and over again.

Interesting read, I learned some new things but, to be fair, I haven't been following this game THAT closely. The fly-swatting thing mentioned sounds like a Mario Paint easter egg, which would be amazing, I loved that mini-game! I didn't realize the amiibo costumes would be limited to the retro templates (I'm hoping that means 8-bit AND 16-bit because all I've seen is 8-bit) but I guess it makes sense.

Overall, I'm pretty excited for this. It looks like it will consume a fair bit of my time and get me back on my Wii U more often.

Re: Poll: Does Nintendo's Drive Towards Multiplayer Gaming Appeal to You?

business-scrub

Mario Tennis... heck yes I'm excited for multiplayer. All these other games... not so much. Zelda Four Swords never really interested me much, I think I beat the first one but that's it, so Triforce Heroes looks pretty 'meh' to me. Federation Force looks interesting enough but I doubt I'll buy it unless enough of my friends get it, which they probably won't... oh well.

And don't even get me started on Animal Crossing. I don't know whose bright idea it was to turn a beautiful, (mostly) single-player experience into a tacky board game just to sell amiibo. They could've easily released another regular Animal Crossing game for Wii U and sold thousands more amiibo than with this crappy-looking game that almost nobody is going to buy.

...Sorry, I'm really sensitive about Animal Crossing lately.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's E3 Digital Event?

business-scrub

I've been a die-hard Nintendo fan since I was a kid. I've been called a blind fan boy from all my friends but I didn't care because I knew Nintendo would always have their major franchises to keep themselves (and myself) going. I started doubting them this year since but then the prospects of E3 got me super excited for all the key franchises that SHOULD'VE received a new game...

Nintendo isn't going to have many of their core fans left if this is how they keep going. If they want to make tacky, multi-player games for kids than good for them, but I don't know how much more I can take before I give up on them altogether.

Re: Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival Is Basically Mario Party With KK Slider And Company

business-scrub

I could not be any more disappointed... Animal Crossing U was the ONLY thing I was hoping for at E3 this year and instead we get another lame party game. Where did they even get this idea? Animal Crossing is mostly a relaxed, personal, single-player experience; why would they turn that into a competitive, multi-player game that's just going to turn friends against other friends much like Mario Party is famous for?

AGH!

Re: Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories Heading to Wii U This Winter

business-scrub

YES! I'm going to try and restrain my excitement until there's some more info released but a Harvest Moon for console is LONG overdue! I know Natsume's last entry wasn't very good at all but that doesn't mean this will be bad, they just tried something new and it didn't work. It sounds to me like they've realized that and are taking it back to the roots, which is exactly what they need to do! This has me even more excited for E3 now, let's hope it doesn't disappoint!

Re: Here's Your Next Helping Of Guitar Hero Live Tracks

business-scrub

Good to see some more metal being added, although I'd prefer some different songs than the ones they're picking so far. Killswitch and BMTH have so many better songs... I'm guessing they're still trying to appeal to a broader audience though, so I probably shouldn't expect anything like 'Pray for Plagues' or 'Chelsea Smile'

Re: The Prices of the Remaining Physical Goods on Club Nintendo in North America Have Been Reduced

business-scrub

Oh, everyone just get over it! You guys will seriously complain about everything Nintendo does; even when it's something good like giving discounts on their complimentary rewards, a service that they don't even have to offer us if they don't want to. It's free stuff so stop whining!

When you complain about other people getting a better deal than you or not getting everything you wanted because the prices were higher so you had to make a choice; you are essentially reverting to a small child whining about other kids getting more birthday presents than you. Grow up.

Re: Nintendo Reveals the Final Club Nintendo Elite Rewards

business-scrub

When I signed in I received a notification telling me I had reached platinum status and I could select a gift. After finally getting signed in and to the page for the reward I want it says: "Sorry this reward is only available to 2015 platinum members."

Do you guys think it's just a high-traffic related error or am I going to have to email Nintendo? Anyone else have this problem?

Re: Review: Story of Seasons (3DS)

business-scrub

@Dooyoo The 3D looks just like ANB (to me, at least) and I personally have no problem with it.

I picked it up yesterday after work and played for an hour or so but the insanely-long tutorial eventually got to me. I'll be playing again tonight to push through the last bit of the tutorial and finally start playing the game, which looks amazing!

The little differences in farming mechanics are cool so far and I can't wait to see what else they've tweaked. This is way more of a real Harvest Moon experience than whatever that thing Natsume released was.
