Re: Talking Point: What Do You Make Of The Three Big Pokémon Games Coming To Nintendo Switch?

Pretty unimpressed with let's go and the freemium game. Have to wait and see what 2019 game looks like, but I'm kind of saturated by Pokemon games, I think there's been a lot and I'm kind of over it, at least the standard formula. I thought Sun and moon were annoying more than anyrhing. It will probably sell more switches, hopefully that means more ambitious games except I don't think the Pokemon audience necessarily wants what I want. A big shrug for now.

@patbacknitro18 i never said it was ruining my experience. I said I didn't buy a console for this trash. You're adding words that weren't there.

I also think you're lashing out because my opinion of this game is negative.

I think this game highlights the shovelware kingdom that the switch eshop is fast becoming. If it's tending towards a mobile freemium store front now I don't think that's good, I think it's very bad.

@gurtifus cool mate! I love faxanadu, used to watch my dad play it when I was probably about 6 or 7, he finished it but I never quite have yet, even though I have the cartridge up on my desk shelf. I love the music in it and the art style. I just checked out bloodstained on switch eshop and the art and colours gave me a massive faxanadu vibe - going to have to buy it! To me, faxanadu is the quintessential platforming RPG. Right up there with the original Zelda and adventure of link, both of which were also massive games in our house growing up.

Re: Nintendo Is The "Cheapest Game Stock In The World" – But Not For Long

I'm not sure that anyone should be taking investment advice, nor making financial investment decisions based uponan article or comments on it from a video game commentary website. That said, if Nintendo's profit doesn't triple in the next 2 years, given how low it was in the Wii U days which is where the baseline is being taken from here, they would probably be exiting the business... It's a pretty safe bet that their share price will increase in that timeframe, but how sustainable will it be later, and how liquid will the asset be, and how will external conditions affect the market, and finally would you just be better off altogether investing in the big banks and getting dividends twice a year which are fully franked in Australia so you don't pay personal income tax on those dividends.

My money's in the bank stock.

@sillygostly funny you mention axiom verge, I keep almost buying it. I want to support Tom happ but it's about $18 on the E shop but I'm nearly out of room on my SD card now. I do like the multiverse edition in terms of value for money though! As you say there's a lot in the box at $60.
I think the next thing I buy for switch has to be a new SD card unfortunately.

Re: Sega Reveals Shenmue 1 & 2 Remaster, But It's Skipping Switch

@sillygostly I definitely agree with you!

I have wondered if those Syberia games are any good. At this point I look at e shop games, go on youtube and see some honest reviews (ignoring nintendolife that gives everything 8 or 9 /10) and then basically don't buy anything because the price is too high for mediocrity. There's an awful lot of shovelware on switch now, and highly priced at that.

I cant wait for Octopath traveler as I desperately need a sizeable rpg to restore my faith in the system. Im pretty concerned at just over a year in theres bugger all support from square enix, really disappointed. I may as well buy a ps4, although i resisted ont he promise of switch for years!

@AlphaElite I have already come to the same conclusion. Games like penny punching princess and longest 5 minutes costing $60 Australian for 10 hr games doesn't help either. So many of the indie games can be had way cheaper on steam or ps4 too, I just find myself refusing to buy them on the switch e shop no matter how bad I might want to.

Re: Awesome: Meet The Ultimate Nintendo Switch Game Collector

bolt05

@darthstuey yeah same, used to check the e-store weekly but now once a month. Shovelware worse than the Wii because eshop is even easier and cheaper to shovel it into.

I'm still very disappointed with the rpg offerings, there's a news highlight on switch about 7 JRPGs on switch , but scroll the list and every one is overpriced and simply average. It is totally void of decent RPGs at this point. Last rpg I bought was radiant historia for 3ds. Part of this isn't Nintendo's fault, instead of localising the seiken densetsu collection we get romancing saga, which nobody ever really wanted. I can't understand modern square Enix, it's like they don't want money anymore. RPGs are my favourite genre so this eats me up a bit.

Re: You Can Now Pre-Order An EU Retail Copy Of Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection

@justin233 I feel a bit the same way, the only games I'm somewhat keen on are YS viii and Octopath traveller. Nothing else on the release calendar excites me. A Kirby collection would be nice instead of the multiplayer focussed one they are releasing this year. I really hope they release a vc service in September because I'm not using my switch much at all right now.

If secret of mana collection got an english port I would play the crap out of it! For some reason square Enix never responds to my emails and Facebook queries on this lol
