Pretty unimpressed with let's go and the freemium game. Have to wait and see what 2019 game looks like, but I'm kind of saturated by Pokemon games, I think there's been a lot and I'm kind of over it, at least the standard formula. I thought Sun and moon were annoying more than anyrhing. It will probably sell more switches, hopefully that means more ambitious games except I don't think the Pokemon audience necessarily wants what I want. A big shrug for now.
@patbacknitro18 i never said it was ruining my experience. I said I didn't buy a console for this trash. You're adding words that weren't there.
I also think you're lashing out because my opinion of this game is negative.
I think this game highlights the shovelware kingdom that the switch eshop is fast becoming. If it's tending towards a mobile freemium store front now I don't think that's good, I think it's very bad.
@bitleman I didn't know there was an easier mode, so thanks for that.
I was defeated in the first fight about 6 times straight and though omg this is a bit nuts and I just don't have time to replay a battle quite that much.
I can't get into the SMT games at all. The rng of it and constant reloading from saves just astounds me. SMT IV was unplayable in my opinion. Kudos to anyone with the patience for this sort of game, not my cup of tea.
I'm not really into neo geo games, theres some I like but i would prefer to spend the cash on things I really want like GBA and DS games im collecting right now. I generally prefer RPG games and the neo geo just doesn't do it for me.
I like pixel art, but only when done right like bloodstained and shovel knight. These games resemble battletoads and faxanadu in quality. Some pixel art looks for sort of jaggy floating edges about everything and it doesn't appeal to me at all.
@gurtifus cool mate! I love faxanadu, used to watch my dad play it when I was probably about 6 or 7, he finished it but I never quite have yet, even though I have the cartridge up on my desk shelf. I love the music in it and the art style. I just checked out bloodstained on switch eshop and the art and colours gave me a massive faxanadu vibe - going to have to buy it! To me, faxanadu is the quintessential platforming RPG. Right up there with the original Zelda and adventure of link, both of which were also massive games in our house growing up.
I was going to do the same as Dave Frear and play mother 3 on my GBA X5 and AGS 101 GBA SP. But I loaded up Summon Night instead and I'm really enjoying it!
$20 per year is great. Pretty reasonable price, glad there's a family option not that most families will ever own more than 1 switch, its pretty expensive, I know I won't be buying a second one any time soon.
I'm not sure that anyone should be taking investment advice, nor making financial investment decisions based uponan article or comments on it from a video game commentary website. That said, if Nintendo's profit doesn't triple in the next 2 years, given how low it was in the Wii U days which is where the baseline is being taken from here, they would probably be exiting the business... It's a pretty safe bet that their share price will increase in that timeframe, but how sustainable will it be later, and how liquid will the asset be, and how will external conditions affect the market, and finally would you just be better off altogether investing in the big banks and getting dividends twice a year which are fully franked in Australia so you don't pay personal income tax on those dividends.
definitely going to pick it up, it was on the list of must haves for me already, now its been bumped up because I didn't know the dev team was so small and because they seem like such nice people!
@sillygostly funny you mention axiom verge, I keep almost buying it. I want to support Tom happ but it's about $18 on the E shop but I'm nearly out of room on my SD card now. I do like the multiverse edition in terms of value for money though! As you say there's a lot in the box at $60.
I think the next thing I buy for switch has to be a new SD card unfortunately.
Last year's atgames Sega hd still has terrible audio and about 8 stages in to gain ground the game started stuttering really badly. I'm going to keep playing megadrive via my snes mini as it has the power and modding community behind it.
I have wondered if those Syberia games are any good. At this point I look at e shop games, go on youtube and see some honest reviews (ignoring nintendolife that gives everything 8 or 9 /10) and then basically don't buy anything because the price is too high for mediocrity. There's an awful lot of shovelware on switch now, and highly priced at that.
I cant wait for Octopath traveler as I desperately need a sizeable rpg to restore my faith in the system. Im pretty concerned at just over a year in theres bugger all support from square enix, really disappointed. I may as well buy a ps4, although i resisted ont he promise of switch for years!
@AlphaElite I have already come to the same conclusion. Games like penny punching princess and longest 5 minutes costing $60 Australian for 10 hr games doesn't help either. So many of the indie games can be had way cheaper on steam or ps4 too, I just find myself refusing to buy them on the switch e shop no matter how bad I might want to.
ah crap, just tried running on snes9x and the sound goes all garbled when there's text coming up on screen, bit weird. I have encountered this before but cant remember how I fixed it lol
@SonOfVon They're not wireless. Same as the existing Nintendo ones, usb lead to use and recharge, doesn't work without it plugged in, begs the question whay advertise that it is removable and why even make it removable at all? crazy.
@darthstuey yeah same, used to check the e-store weekly but now once a month. Shovelware worse than the Wii because eshop is even easier and cheaper to shovel it into.
I'm still very disappointed with the rpg offerings, there's a news highlight on switch about 7 JRPGs on switch , but scroll the list and every one is overpriced and simply average. It is totally void of decent RPGs at this point. Last rpg I bought was radiant historia for 3ds. Part of this isn't Nintendo's fault, instead of localising the seiken densetsu collection we get romancing saga, which nobody ever really wanted. I can't understand modern square Enix, it's like they don't want money anymore. RPGs are my favourite genre so this eats me up a bit.
@1UP_MARIO same here odyssey was the last game I bought. Switch games are too expensive, it's a total price gouge for indie titles available on ps4 and steam. I'm not into paying more. Ridiculous.
Stardew with a harry potter skin is what this sounds like. I was bored of stardew after about 5 hrs of gameplay. This game will be the same thing by the looks of it.
@justin233 I feel a bit the same way, the only games I'm somewhat keen on are YS viii and Octopath traveller. Nothing else on the release calendar excites me. A Kirby collection would be nice instead of the multiplayer focussed one they are releasing this year. I really hope they release a vc service in September because I'm not using my switch much at all right now.
If secret of mana collection got an english port I would play the crap out of it! For some reason square Enix never responds to my emails and Facebook queries on this lol

The free game is a waste of time but the lets go pika/evee looks ok. I will never ever conenct Go to it but hopefully wont need to.
Re: Pokémon Quest Is A New Free-to-Start Game for Nintendo Switch & Mobile Devices
@patbacknitro18 I think its trash. Enjoy if its your thing.
Re: Pokémon Quest Is A New Free-to-Start Game for Nintendo Switch & Mobile Devices
I just played for about an hour, terrible mobile freemium game, avoid!
I did not buy a dedicated gaming console for this utter trash!

@impurekind Totally agreed man, i would rebuy all the snes rpgs could get my hands on in 2018 if they made mini carts and mini consoles!!! OMG utopia!
Re: Review: The Banner Saga (Switch eShop)
I would buy a physical collection of all 3.
Re: The Banner Saga 2 Raises Its Colours On Nintendo Switch With A 7th June Release Date
Not buying this one either, switch tax is strong on this series.
It's $13 for Banner Saga 1 on play store, and $30 on switch...
Re: Deals: This Splatoon 2 amiibo Pre-order Is Totally Off The Hook
I just don't care about Amiibo anymore. Waste of resources they even make the things.

GBA Classic next please!
Re: Alwa’s Awakening Will Magic Its Way Onto Nintendo Switch This Summer
Been on my radar for a while, coming to switch is an instant buy!
Re: Random: A Formula 1 Fan Takes Game Boy Camera To Grand Prix With Amazing Results
@Shiryu I hear ya man, F1 is just bragging rights for spoiled rich kids now. Total disgrace.
If the drivers are all that good, why not give them all the same car and see who's really best?
Or, Give the teams all the same rules and budget cap (a modest one) and see which complete team can come out on top. Now that would be fun to watch!

If I were to spend $100 us on a cart it wouldn't be a repro. This is a blatant gouge of fans that gives nothing back.

@Bonus-Level wow, awesome thanks for sharing that! This game looks like a solid effort all around. Can't wait.
Re: Fox N Forests Will Leap And Bound Onto Switch On 17th May
This looks gorgeous, the music is great too! I love the contrast between the autumn-mode? music and the regular music.
Re: Tactical RPG Banner Of The Maid Is Coming To Switch
ugh more shovel ware. About time for some premium rpgs thanks.
Octopath and Fire Emblem cannot come soon enough.
Re: Night Trap, The Infamous Mega CD Classic, Is Switch Bound
@samuelvictor Sega CD version of road avenger has the theme song in English. I just run the disc in my disc drive and emulate with kega fusion.
