Can we please, for the love of god, at least have someone to reign in Iga's worse tendencies? I desperately want to enjoy soul system gameplay, but I just can't stand when Iga forces you to pause and switch out souls just so that you can get past 1 obstacle, only for you to have to re-pause and switch back just so that you can actually use all of your attacks. Getting a decent map would also be nice, but I honestly can't even hope for that anymore, since all of the Igavania games (other than CotM) have at best slightly terrible map designs.
Since most of its still under wraps, I'm hoping for an FF Advance collection (Maybe they'll even dig out something from the canned Wonderswan version of FF3? I doubt it, but a man can dream) and maybe a port of something NeiR related, but that's about it. If we're going completely insane, though, I can always keep hoping that the secret Forever Entertainment project is actually full, Trials of Mana style remakes of the 6 2D Final Fantasy games. I know that it won't happen, but I want to believe.
@Tasuki Its a lot more convinent to download a rom than to spend a bunch of money just to get something to rip your game files for PC. Plus, you can also somehow get into the weird grey area that I fall in to where I own a Super Famicom and a bunch of Japanese SNES cartriges, but only speak English. I still own the carts for Chrono Trigger and Earthbound and Super Mario RPG, with the latter of the two even being complete in box, but they're in Japanese, so I can't play them. At least in my opinion, I feel that I still have the right to play the games that I own, so I download the English ROMs to actually play.
My thoughts on emulation boil down to this: If you own the game, do whatever you want with it. Even current gen games, as long as you actually own the game in some form, go ahead and emulate it. If the game is no longer sold through any official means, there's no difference between downloading a ROM or buying a used copy. If it is sold through official means, though, and you're still downloading the ROM, that's a problem.
Great, the 2nd worst possible reality for a Sonic Collection (at least it has CD). I was hoping for at LEAST something on the level of the Gamecube collections, but no, Sega has officially fallen from being one of the few companies that could make a good collection. Why did this have to be so disappointing after one of the greatest collections of all time (Genesis Classics, at least the PC version). Why couldn't they have at least put in Chaotix. That alone would have made me happy with this. But of course, Sega just doesn't want anyone to play that game.
God, this could be so good. I'm hoping for at least the combined contents of the Mega Collection + and Gems Collection, and hopefully a bit more. I'd kill to finally get a port of Chaotix to something other than the 32x, and who knows what else they'll have. Maybe they'll finally bring SegaSonic to a home platform, maybe we'll get the Advance Trilogy, who knows? Maybe, if they're feeling really generous, they'll even throw in some of the really niche stuff the only the most hardcore will care about. I can completely see Sega throwing in the old Sega Cafe mobile games as unlockables, and I'd adore that to no end. Hell, if they really want to go deep, they could always throw in the old Tiger Handheld games! I'll be getting this day one, assuming that it at least lives up to the offerings on the Gamecube.
Wasn't this the franchise that died because they couldn't decide what character would be on the boxart, or am I thinking of a different franchise? Either way, this probably won't be my kind of game, but its still cool for those who want it.
I swear, if they cut Hard Times, I'm not buying. I refuse to buy a collection with a butchered Sonic 3, especially since I own this game at least thrice over at this point, with Mega Collection, Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, and the PC version of the Genesis Classics Collection.
FINALLY! I've neen wondering when we'd get DQ aniversary stuff, and I was completely expecting for it to just be an E3 segment at this poimt, so this is really nice. Hoping for ports of the mobile versions of 4 - 6, the 3DS versions of 7 and 8, something with 9, and maybe, just maybe, a second set of DQ 1-3 ports that aren't based on 20 year old ports for phones that weren't even powerful enough to run Fortune Street.
@smithyo Ok, that clears up a lot of confusion. I'd only ever heard of the old SHMUPS before seeing the occasional glance at the 3d games, and thought that it was a weird reboot of the SNES game. I'm glad to have that one cleared up.
I completely believe that this is teasing the Master Cheif Collection on Switch. I've been predicting this for years now, Microsoft is bringing it to the Switch because of Phil Spencer desperately wants Goldeneye and Diddy Kong Racing on Rare Replay, but Nintendo won't let MS do it, so Phil is just playing every card he can to try and convince Nintendo to let MS have them. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was a completed build of Rare Replay for the Switch and PC, but Phil is holding it back until MS gets permission for those two to be in it, and the MCC being ported is just his next attempt at getting them.
If they're bringing over the original, can they bring over the PS2 game while they're at it? Its always been one of those games that I looked at and thought "Huh, that looks somewhat interesting, I might play that at some point" and then never got around to playing, so a port of that would be nice.
And V is still my favorite. The later you get into the series, the more overdramatic the cutscenes get, and the longer the battle animations get. Please, Square, for ports in the future, LET ME TURN OFF THE BATTLE ANIMATIONS! I just want to run around in a circle watching numbers go up, Square.
Hey, something I actually care about! Will these still be available later on in some way or another, or are they gone forever at the end of the event? I've still yet to actually play this game, but I might eventually, so I'd just like to know. Also, will these be available in New Horizons? I don't follow AC.
My god, this looks glorious. I wish that they had more than just Mario, though. Imagine a Metroid themed ride, where it actually takes you through Zebes, or a pokemon themed land, where they somehow manage to have actual pokemon battles using a combination of animatronics and AR!
I just have my switch's rebound controls set to Xbox style, so that I don't have to deal with muscle memory problems. I've been playing on PC a lot more recently, and I use my Xbox controller for that, so I just unified the control schemes, even if it's a bit weird for some games (BOTW in particular sucks with this control scheme.)
As long as the preorder/digital deluxe bonus isn't an exclusive emulation of the Ninja Gaiden Trilogy on SNES, I probably won't be buying it. I always have that slight fear, though, since Bamco did that. At least I actually got that one, though.
Can we please at least start with universal in-game button binding? I'd love to use my custom control set (with an Xbox-style button layout) with BOTW, but its just so awkward using anything but the default. And don't even get me started on traditional Zelda's controls. Let me bind any item to any non-movement/pause button, damn it! Also, being able to universally set attack to the R button in 2d platformers would be really nice.
Ahh, the GBA, home of the hidden gem sequels that I feel are better than the games that get the most love. FF5 Advance and Castlevania: Circle of the Moon are my favorite games in their respective series, but never get enough love.
Of the 4 DQ Snes games, you put the 1 & 2 pack? 3 & 5 are both a lot better than 1 or 2 ever was, and that's coming from someone who actually liked DQ1. Also, FF5 not being on here is a travesty.
I understand the gameplay loop of Stardew Valley/Harvest Moon, but I just don't even see gameplay in Animal Crossing. At least New Horizons looks like it has more than any of the previous games, but AC still needs a bit more gameplay than it has for me to really give it a shot. If I want the life simulator, I'll just play Stardew, and if I want the customization, I'll just play Minecraft, both of which have a lot more gameplay than AC has ever had.
I wish the thing was easier to answer if you don't speak Japanese. Half of the time I wasn't sure if I was saying the opposite of what I was trying to say. Other than that, PORT OR REMAKE EVERYTHING! I'll buy damn near anything they put out, I just want more Atlus!
Damn, I can't believe that they managed to get Miriam to look better in this than in her home game (probably just the shading). She'll probably play better (for me) in this game as well, since you won't be pausing to switch shards! This will probably be the first time I actually enjoy playing as her if I pick it up, so at least that's great.
I've heard great things about Phantom Brave, so I'm definitely going to pick this one up. Now where's Disgaea 2 & 3? I want to have the full franchise in one place!
This was being done years ago with Pokemon Red and Mario Land 2 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SL_Zuc0tlvo for a video on it.) So while its still really cool, its nothing new.

That being said, it still sucks that this happened in the first place. To paraphrase the great Dunkey, Nintendo is great at making games, and terrible at being a company.

@Zanzox They have the rights to the D&D games, at least. You can go on Steam right now and buy a remake package of the two games, so at least those ones can be here.

Yeah, it looks good, and its probably a good game, and I'll definitely buy it, but its just such a boring pick to bring over after the SaGa gameboy games, which in themselves weren't really on the top of anyone's list. Where's Chrono Trigger, FF 1-6, Live A Live, Bahamut Lagoon, Actraiser, the Soul Blazer trilogy, E.V.O, or just anything that isn't another entry in a series that we have several games in, all of which stay relatively similar to each other? I'm starting to get tired of this.
Welcome to the next terrible compilation from Capcom, this time featuring 7 repeats of games that are already available on modern platforms, yet no trace of Darkstalkers, or, apparently they have the rights to Alien Vs. Predator! Screw you Capcom, come back when you finally learn how to make a good collection, although I'll probably be waiting forever. I'll probably buy the thing today anyway, despite how much I hate it, just so that I'll feel okay with emulating the games in the pack.
Jump Force looks good at $20 off, and the Naruto trilogy always tempts me when its on sale, even though I've never watched or read a thing of Naruto in my life. I don't think I'll be picking anything up, though, since I just spent about $90 buying out half of UPlay for its Lunar New Year sale.
