If Sony bought Castlevania they'd most definitely give it back to IGA, which is the last thing I want, because it would inevitably sink back into the same pile of missed potential that the series has been sitting in since HoD undid all of the improvements that CotM made to the formula. I don't want to see Aria 4, because it would inevitably return with the same problems that the existing trilogy has with customization options that aren't really customizable and THE SAME DAMN HALLWAYS THAT SHOW UP IN EVERY IGAVIANIA GAME THAT JUST WASTE YOUR TIME FOR AT LEAST 3 ROOMS UNTIL YOU TRUDGE BACK TO WHERE YOU STARTED WITH NOTHING GAINED!!! NOTHING!!!! Sorry, I needed to get that rant out again. Nothing will ever piss me off more than those damn hallways.

Ok, but where's the release date? I'd like to buy this game at some point, along with Panzer Dragoon, but both fronts of SEGA's indie retro franchise revivals have been silent on that front.

If slime rancher shows up, I'll be happy. That and Subnautica are the only 2 indie games that I desperately want on switch.

@nessisonett I do see the the flaws in the dss. I think that it would have been a lot better if they were overworked collectables, or at least don't lock two of them behind an end game arena challenge where if you don't get the card you have to redo the entire thing. I still think it was better implemented though, as the only card that lets you get things just lets you get them earlier, and isn't required for any of those upgrades.

@khululy I prefer Harmony to AoS. At least in my opinion, the best that the soul system has ever been executed was back in CotM with the DSS. If you are going to give me a system that allows me to customize my play style with different abilities, I should be able to beat the entire game without using it, albeit much harder than it would be with using it. I tried playing AoS and ended up putting it down within the first 30 minutes of picking it up because of having to separately equip the slower falling speed soul, which immediately gave me flashbacks to the well in bloodstained, which I had played before. That was the worst area that I had ever experienced in a metroidvania, so I didn't want to go through that hell again. Plus it also gave me Iga's BS hallways that take you nowhere way before you have the right upgrade to go through them, while giving you nothing for your effort within that 30 minutes that I played it. That's why I don't like AoS.

@Kalmaro I agree wholeheartedly. It's the only game in the igavania saga to not have terrible map design, terribly implemented upgrades, or both. All time classic.

Edit: That I've played. I haven't gotten to the DS trilogy yet, but I've played SOTN, the GBA trilogy, and Bloodstained. Just in case portrait of ruin manges to fix my problems with the rest of the saga, because Aria for DS won't and I've heard that ecclesia has a really weird structure.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHH! This upcoming direct will be the best direct. I've been wanting this one a lot for a while now.

It'll be Mario and Zelda, but not the ones you expect. Zelda will be a full reimagining of OOT and Majora's Mask, while the Mario will be a sunshine remake. Grezzo will be carrying the end of the year hits.

@Tantani Remakes. The second set of games released that gen.

@link3710 It wasn't changed last gen. Fire red and Leaf green were gen 3.5. I know that they take more from yellow, but it's still ultimately gen 1. The actual pattern is that each remake, except for the first one, has released in the Gen double its original gen. Therefore, gen 4 remakes and not let's go Johto.

Let's go Johto is next gen. Look at the pattern:

Gen 2: remade in gen 4
Gen 3: remade in gen 6
Gen 3.5: remade in gen 7

So then,

Gen 4: gen 8
Gen 4.5: gen 9

I'm assuming that it will be a shadow drop at the next direct for NA.

Don't buy these, please. SNK has already confirmed a Samurai Shodown collection for the switch, so this is just them grasping for the last money that they can get out of these before the collection comes out and makes these releases effectively obsolete.

YES!!!!! I couldn't be much happier than this SNES lineup! Super Punch Out, Kirby Super Star, and STAR FOX 2!! Were some of my most wanted games for the lineup. After we Mario All Stars, Earthbound, and the DKC trilogy I'll be golden.

Screw off. They did it because they wanted to test the waters, so they chose the one that they only had to up-res and put on digital storefronts. It probably would have taken a lot longer to get a full remake out, plus the panzer dragoon remake guys already had their hands full with panzer dragoon. Would you have really preferred super monkey ball 1 and 2 over panzer dragoon? That's the only way I could see those two feasibly getting remakes instead of what we got. And for the record, I got the game as soon as I could and loved it.

@BulkSlash Yep. The original on Oculus was Lucky's tale, the Xbone version was Super lucky's tale, and this one is New Super Lucky's tale. 3 different names for 3 different versions.

I did not know that these existed, but am happy to see them return in the collection, unlike some others COUGH super obscure pocket-station required dragon eggs in Spyro 2 COUGH. Was already going to get this at launch, and am now even more excited!!

Day and date digital. This was part of my original switch indie want triad, consisting of this, slime rancher, and Subnautica. The only thing that pushed me away from it for a bit was the Aladdin/Lion King pack, but this has taken the spot, especially since I've been wanting a new 3d platformer recently but being scared off of Spyro 3 because of reports of glitches. SO EXCITED!!!

I want God eater and Taiko no tatsujin, but I also want hat in time and Aladdin. DESICIONS.

Just bring over the collection or make a new game, and I will buy metal slug. In this day and age, I simply refuse to buy Virtual console style releases (Except Sega ages, because I don't expect them to put out another collection anytime soon), because why would I pay $7 for metal slug when I can go back a generation and get 6 of them for dirt cheap? However, I would love to get into the series, and SNK in general (Will be starting to dig into SNK when the samurai shodown collection comes out), so I would love a new game as well, and buy it just as fast as a collection.

Might pick this up off the premise alone. Love what We've seen, and I am a sucker for metroidvanias.

@Toy_Link THANK GOD!! MM2 was a big dissapointment to me so far, and it might be improved. I think they put way too much focus on 3D world in the base game, so we might finally get the stuff we would, and arguably should have gotten in the base game. This is the best timeline. Instead of just getting SEGA AGES rereleases of old Dreamcast and Saturn games, we are getting full remakes!!!! Now, where is Jet Set Radio?

@AxeltheCorvikni I'm just a bit nervous after the lord of the rings games came down. Plus, you can never really know with licensed games, ducktales remastered came down even with the afternoon collection existing, and that really put me on edge with these kinds of things. I'd rather get it now than wait and lose the opportunity.

Also no chance in all hell that it won't be on the switch, since inti creates made these and they just said that all of their future games for a while would be on the switch.

Will definitely upgrade. My switch's right joy-con rail, among other things, is broken (still very playable though), and I play 99% portably. EXCITED!
