Atlus Wants To Know What Games You Want Ported To Switch

Persona 5 (Royal)!

Everything except Persona 5. That way Switch owners realise that there are other games in the series which are just as good. Plus it would be hysterical.

Bring out the DS/3DS library, those games have been stuck on handheld long enough.

Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey and Dark Spire are the two big ones. Etrian Odyssey games too, especially 3. (Though honestly for EO I'd like to see an all new entry more than anything)

Getting a little past the point where porting Persona 5 would be expected. I'm sure all their resources are being spent on Persona 6 at this juncture among SMT and other sequels and spin-offs.

And like its parent company Sega, these annual surveys will probably mean next to nothing, other than to get fans riled up over a fraction of a glimmer of hope to see ports of old games.

@nessisonett yeah lol. I thinks persona 5 is actually in the back end of quality for MEGATEN. I do want to play it on switch though because I don't have a ps4 and from what I played on ps3 it's a great game. The thing is that megaten games have been masterpieces and persona 5 while absolutely phenomenal is not a masterpiece. I'd argue persona 3 is better but that's subjective as they are all pretty even in quality. But yeah I wish persona fans would realize that... It's a spin off... Of a better game series. That's no diss on persona I love those games. But it's like atluss best games are unheard of because of some of their less good ones it's just kinda confusing NGL. I'd argue even the entries on the ds outdo persona by miles. Hope smt v 3 nocturne do well...

@TheLightSpirit p5 strikers is gonna not be selling great on switch because it's a seuquel to a story heavy game not a lot of people have on PS4 or PS5 because a majority vod switch owners myself included can only afford one console in the generation

I'd really like to see SMT IV get somd love on Switch as well (and I would double dip).

But hey Atlus, before asking us what we want next why not deliver on SMT V, which has been 4 years in the making at this point?

I really think Atlus needs to start making new games. They haven't made many lately. I've recently bought all of the EO games on 3DS, (3 on DS) so I don't really need ports. 3 would be good as it's hard to get and so expensive. But I really want is new Etrian Odyssey and new obscure RPGs not connected to any of their main series. Give us new stuff like Radiant Historia (but not a port). No more ports!!!

Etrian Odyssey wouldn't make sense on the console, but I want everything else: Persona, SMT, Trauma Center, Devil Survivor, you name it.

Atlus is my single favorite developer in the industry.

@nessisonett Persona 5/Royal is one of my favorite Atlus games, but the toxicity of the Switch port beggers seriously makes me understand why some people would grow to start hating it. Especially when most of those same people will almost certainly ignore the fantastic SMT games hitting the console soon.

Localisations of the S/MT games for the FC and SFC I would eat up without thinking. Obviously all the Persona games. I would even love a localisation of Kat's Run for the SFC. Anyone remember that? It's great.

There still may be a lot of people who do have a ps4 or switch, but the people looking at the game is probably a lot lower on a console with no prior experience to the game that spoils the original game if I had to guess. And even if it doesn't most people will think they need to play the original first. I just think that newcomers to the series probably won't start on switch.

Wait a minute let me see if i got this right? Last year that question asked about getting Switch ports but this time they name every other relevant console EXCEPT Switch?

I gave up and got Royal on PS4, i was prepared to wait and hope as i already played the base P5 but Royal was on sale and i don't think Royal to Switch so i got it. Would be nice if all of them made it to Switch but if had to pick it would P4 Golden as its fantastic and in some ways is better then P5 Royal.

They definitely ask about switch ports. I just completed the survey thanks to google translate, and there basically asked what games you would want on which console. (could select multiple consoles per game) I mainly just picked EO on Switch and then told them I want new EO games over ports but would still grab the ports.

I just want a port of Persona 4 Golden. Seriously... No joke or trolling. I don't care about Persona 5 because I don't really like the characters, but I love the cast from P4 and never had a Vita and refuse to buy the PC version.

It sucks how they've completely written off Trauma Center as a franchise. The Wii made motion controls work for it; the Switch could do the same, and they could do what VOEZ did at first and be touchscreen-only if it really came down to it.

There's so much Atlus could port they shouldn't even ask, Raidou Kuzunoha, Digital Devil Saga, Trauma Center, Devil Survivor, all Personas (especially the first three that are still trapped on PSP/PS Vita), Odin Sphere, Dragon's Crown, 13 Sentinels, etc. Everything from Super Famicom, PS1, Saturn, GBC or GBA would need actual localizations or being completely remade which is so out of the question for Atlus

Etrian Odyssey all the way. I have all the English games and really loved the series. Dungeon crawler games are one of my favorites types of games.

All of them please, but hopefully more PS2 SMT games depending on how SMT Nocturne does.

Persona 1 & 2 really deserve to get out there to more people. P2 is my favorite mainline entry to date and in the wake of P5R and P4G's success I'd love for more people to be exposed to the darker, more character driven narratives of yesteryear with classic Persona. It's about high time they also bring Eternal Punishment's PSP remake to the West.

I also wouldn't purchase P5 again anyway. I'd be happy for people that didn't play it, to play it, but I already beat it on PS4. I didn't even buy Royal because I had my fill of it the first go around. It's a great game, but it gets way too long in the tooth. The later dungeons are way too long. Game should have been 60 hours instead of 100. Just my opinion.

@nessisonett While P5 fans who have never played anything else in that franchise (or even 5 itself and only care about the MC because of Smash) are beyond annoying I do want a port simply because it's my preferred way to play rpgs. Wouldn't have finished all past Personas and SMTs if they weren't on PS Vita/3DS and it's why I've yet to try Royal, Atlus could very well release it after SMTV to not take away its spotlight.

I've already played P5 but I didn't get far into P5 Royal (meaning I probably "only" played like 25 hours or so) before I had to sell my PS4 for financial reasons, so a port of P5 Royal for Switch would be amazing.

@Bobb Muramasa wasn't published by Atlus, the only Vanillaware games the could port are Odin Sphere, Dragon's Crown and 13 Sentinels

The article mentions Catherine Full Body on Switch but this survey has also previously asked about different genres the Persona series could explore like Action RPGs and rhythm games, which directly resulted in games like Persona 5 Strikers and Persona 4 Dancing All Night. It was also because of responses to inquiries about Persona games being developed for specific platforms that we got Persona Q on 3DS

Persona 3 FES, 4, 5... Those are my personal picks but I’d be down for anything thing they choose. I’m grateful for any titles that drop on the Switch.

Because if there's one series thats losing out on money being stuck on 1 platform, it's SMT. Considering Nocturne hd only sold 5k more on switch than on ps4, smt is losing more or less half of it's potential sales being exclusive and that's not even counting pc

I don't undestand this false narrative that Atlus games don't sell on the platform when they've barely supported it with two ports (three if you want to count TMS, I don't) and a new title that sold decently considering it was a sequel of sorts as a reason why P5R isn't getting a port

@Quarth Unless you really care about physical media the 3DS SMT games among other Atlus games on the console get frequently discounted so they're actually really easy to pick up, especially SMT IV and Devil Survivor Overclocked on the eShop

@Bobb Absolutely! Isn’t it about time we got some Vanillaware, erm... ware on Switch? I’d buy full-priced ports of Muramasa Rebirth, Dragon’s Crown Pro and Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir in a heartbeat.

I’ve even been thinking about picking up a PS Vita so I can play those three and Persona 4 Golden again. In fact, I’d prefer a Switch port of P4G over P5R. It’s the game that got me into JRPG’s in the first place.

Muramasa Rebirth on Switch (bundled with all of its DLC) would indeed be sweet, but Atlus isn't the company to ask about that. Atlus didn't publish Muramasa.

@Judal27 Historically japanese aren't trilled with ports and remasters, P5R sold below expectations there and it was only when it released in the west that Atlus reported strong sales. SMTIII isn't even exclusive so that's not the problem, it sold decent but if you look at reviews the players were displeased with the shoddy audiovisual quaility, bugs that have yet to be fixed and so on

@BrintaPap No I think he means because of how fixated the Switch community is on Persona those same people will not even give SMT a chance because of how different it is structurally and tonally, because SMT doesn't have the added quirks that made Persona stand out like social sim elements and the day-to-day micromangement aspect

SMT by comparison is a lot more atmospheric and is basically just no-frills dungeon crawler with demon summoning/recruiting and in the past that's turned a lot of people off from it because it's purely just an RPG unlike Persona

Especially considering how much more popular Persona is than SMT and how much more widely known it is even to people who haven't played any of the games there's been a clear divide between those familiar with just Persona and those who've given the wider MegaTen library a try despite the fact Persona is an offshoot of that franchise

i played all of p5 but I've only gotten about 12 hours into royal, so that'd be nice other than that i'd like to see some more of their other titles akin to Catherine since that was a blast.

Port ALL of the persona games(especially persona 2's games from psp...one needs to be translated though :/) AND any games.

Quit wasting time with ports and just finish SMT V! As much as I loved the DS and 3DS SMT and Etrian Odyssey games, I'm not going to play them again. And let's be real, unless the "port" involves a heavy graphical upgrade, a lot of these games would look pretty bad on the Switch. I LOVED SMT Strange Journey, but when they rereleased it on the 3DS, the graphics were already subpar.

@shonenjump86 I think it's a tragedy that they didn't make a Trauma Center for the Wii U. That seemed like the kind of game the Wii U was made for.

That ratio should definitely be more skewered in favor of switch considering SMT has been exclusive to ninty for a while now so it's fans are on ninty consoles. Nocturne is more newer for ninty fans, it got a Direct spotlight, and there's basically double the amount of switches out there than ps4 in japan

All of that and yet half of it's sales still came from ps4. I don't doubt SMTV will outsell this HD remaster but clearly SMT still has a fanbase on other platforms. And considering it's trying to get out of Persona's shadow, its definitely missing out when potentially half of it's playerbase won't be able to buy it

Also i find it ridiculous that Royal sales are considered underwhelming in japan when it kept pace with the ps4 version of P5. As you said, japan doesn't take too well with remasters. It makes no sense that a remaster selling almost as good as the original should be considered underwhelming unless sega's expectations are just super high

Dark Spire, Etrian Odyssey and Strange Journey would be my choices. I wouldn't say no to a Devil Survivor game.

I just want the world of Etrian Odyssey to be continued on Switch. Retool some of the mechanics if you have to, it's fully possible. Oh and add multiplayer so I can dungeon crawl together with people!

P5R (or at least P5 because P5S is a sequel to P5 not Royal) should be on switch and PC. We have P5S on switch and PC which is a sequel but we don't have the first game. So it HAS to come eventually.

BUT Ik that it is time to give up on P5 for NS. We have been asking for months and years and they still didn't listen. It is time to move on and give up on this

As for SMT, we don't have release dates for Nocturne HD and 5 so if anyone is saying that people will be not excited for those two games, they are for now wrong because we have no release dates for those games. Those games could just come out at the end of the year for all we know.

For all the toxicity rampant amongst switch port beggers I place the blame squarely on Atlus' shoulders. They have been doing these surveys every year since 2017 with little to show. I get the impression that community engagement exercises like this just give the audience false hope and fuel the endless social media hype cycle towards things that don't exist and may never exist.

No amount of gatekeeping will prevent me asking for the Persona games on Switch. P4G is one of my all time favorites and I would double dip in a heartbeat if it came to switch. Persona 5 on Switch is loooooooong overdue. Atlus has no excuses anymore.

Again, I think it's too bad that the people who loved p5 aren't gonna experience this game. i played and finished the previous console ones (DDS, nocturne etc) and still would love to see P5R make its way to the system. and i imagine there are many other switch owners who enjoyed the other smt games be it console or the ds/3ds entrys (depending on if you consider strange journey a mainline one. i personally do)

shouldn't let a few vocal fans demanding the game come to the system ruin it for those who were patient or polite in regards to the game coming out on the system, also personally hope the smtIII remaster is fixed by the time it hits the west since that one was looking rough and i imagine wouldnt give newcomers to nocturne the best impression.

though at this point it feels like persona has branched off to become its own thing

I mostly want the PSP Persona 1 and 2 remakes. If we got P3FES and P4Golden I'd consider grabbing them - I didn't finish either vanilla game back on PS2 and didn't have the will to start either over back then, just like I have no desire for P5R since I beat P5 a few years back.

If we're going beyond Persona, I would consider buying Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 if ported. But realistically these are all long add games and I don't have that much time anymore. I bought the Soul Hackers rerelease on 3DS and maybe played 10 hours before stopping. These games need to have some modern QOL additions.

Even though I just bought it, I would rebuy muramasa rebirth for switch in a heartbeat. As a day one wii buyer I think that was the first time (and only) I felt honestly wronged by a game dev when they ported the game to vita instead of a wiiu rerelease. Such a great game!
I would also buy any vanillaware game a second or third time on Switch.

Oh, I don't know..... Persona 5 !

Seeing how Persona 5 Strikers has made it onto the Switch and how there was a Persona 5 crossover with Dragalia Lost, I think it's pretty clear to me that there is some undisclosed exclusivity deal between Atlus and Sony that restricts mainline Persona games to PlayStation consoles (and the same can be said with Shin Megami Tensei on Nintendo consoles), probably for a pretty long period of timed exclusivity. At this point, is it even worth requesting at this point?

No more games! We enjoy not being able to play a selection of winners, naturally.

@Starcakes I definitely see where you’re coming from but I get why P5 fans are frustrated honestly they’ve been telling atlus they’ll throw money at them just to get these surveys every year asking what they want and being ignored,I probably wouldn’t touch P5 on the switch since I’ve played the original and royal on PS4 and imo strikers is pretty ugly on switch even in docked mode but if it means earlier entry’s can get love on the system I’m all for it with that said I would kill for all the vanillaware games to come to switch(witch is even mentioned in the survey) I’ll admit I haven’t gotten around to 13 sentinels because my wife hijacked our ps4 but it’s definitely up there in my most wanted list.

Persona 5 AND Persona 3 are the emergency asks. They've both been platform locked for far too long, and Persona 3 needs a definitive version instead of forcing people to choose between inferior gameplay/content (P3FES) and inferior presentation (P3P).

As much as last gen games are nice, things at least Wii/Ds age trauma/EO 3 seems better and much older hard to access IPs the best for ports eg that 90s hacker redux treatment on a saturn game.

@TheFox : I had been saying that throughout the lifespan of the Wii U. I had also said the same of Crazy Taxi. The Gamepad could have been used as a GPS and/or a steering wheel. There were so many possibilities that had gone unrealised.

I was also (foolishly) hopeful that the 6 month delay of the Wii U version of Watch_Dogs was due to implementation of the Gamepad (man, was the concept PERFECT for it), but it was just a barebones port. Ubisoft, in typical fashion, charged full price at launch and didn't bother to port over the DLC expansion that was released on other platforms.

@nyaago : That was released on Wii. And it was exclusive to the U.S. and Japan, so a lot of fans had missed out.

@The_Pixel_King Persona 4 Golden was specifically mentioned as an example to re-release on modern consoles. The original Persona games were mentioned for consideration to remake. I wish I took a screenshot of the survey for what games they were considering... I don't feel like going through 50-somewhat questions again to get to that section.

I wish the thing was easier to answer if you don't speak Japanese. Half of the time I wasn't sure if I was saying the opposite of what I was trying to say. Other than that, PORT OR REMAKE EVERYTHING! I'll buy damn near anything they put out, I just want more Atlus!

• Persona 5 Royal, because i don't have PS4/PS5 and i must say, i can't play Persona game or any JRPG game on console, i am not used to this. Playing JRPG game on handheld is better for me.
• Muramasa Rebirth, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, i have Vita but i want Atlus port this to Switch. Both are great games, even Muramasa Rebirth is my first completed game on Vita, so i have many memories with this.
• Persona 3 FES with new soundtrack combine with FeMC story and upgrade combat system from Persona 3 Portable. That will be nice. I completed both game.
• Riviera: The Promise Land. Another great game i have a chance to play and completed. Unique combat system, great story with multiple ending and memorable characters.
• Yggdra Union. I know Switch have JAP version, but i hope Atlus will localized this soon.
• Stella Glow. That game is so underrated. One of the best game for me on 3DS. Great story and soundtrack. Gameplay is good, too.

P/s: I am a big fan of Persona 3, so i hope one day Atlus/SEGA will decided to remake that version with graphic from Persona 3 Dancing ))).

So you think Atlus spends resources creating surveys to then not use the collected data? As stated by some Atlus dev SMT III Remaster, Catherine Switch port and more have been a result of surveys like that.

I loved Catherine: Full Body! If we're talking straight ports with no added content, then that unfortunately means no Persona 3 FES with the female protag and Vincent cameo from P3P. ☹️
But if I had to pick ten Atlus games, I'm gonna pick Persona 3 FES, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal, 3D Dot Game Heroes, SMT IV, the Persona: Endless Night Collection, and Dokapon Kingdom, and P4 Arena Ultimax. I tried not to include all the persona games, but if the series is made available for Switch at all, it should be a lot of them to make up for the decades of Playstation exclusivity.

The Trauma Center series, although really I'd prefer a Trauma Team 2. If they released a bundle with Trauma Center, Trauma Center 2, New Blood and Trauma Team Id buy it day one.

This is exactly why I don't like atlus because they know darn well what games people want on these consoles. It's common sense. They already know that Nintendo fans want Persona 5. They know Xbox fans want that game too. They already know PlayStation fans want the numbered shin Megami series. They know darn well that what they should do is just release all of their games on all consoles without any exclusivity deals. But they want to front as if they don't know. this is what pisses me off about this company

That’s not true.

Persona 5 Strikers is doing exceptionally well on Switch.

PS4 version topped out at #40 on Amazon US, with Switch version at #60, which is incredibly small gap between them. Furthermore, both games have fallen to the #250 range, both within 1 or 2 slots of each other, basically equal.

It’s also broken top 30 on Nintendo eShop.

Even if it doesn’t sell the PS version (which, it won’t), it’s still holding its own incredibly well, especially given the fact there’s a smaller install base and no pre-existing fan base on the platform to boost sales.

And the game is downright excellent by the way. It’s a real Persona game, just with action combat and a few streamlined systems (no big time management). Same great voice actors, same great music, great story, same great writing and characters, very similar mechanics, and those that have been changed have been integrated into the new systems, like all out attacks, weaknesses, buffs, Persona attacks costing HP or SP to use, Persona Fusion, etc.

Anyone asking for Persona on Switch, who hasn’t bought this game, doesn’t know what they’re asking for. And you don’t need to play Persona 5 to play this. It explains everything from the perspective of a newcomer who knows nothing via Sophia, and has a separate story unrelated to the events of P5.

SSX Tricky would be nice, but not sure that's something Atlus can help with.

I tried to see if it would auto translate, but once u get into the survey, my browser won't auto translate, so even tho i could get the translated questions from gaming sites, the ones that need typed answers would be tough to have to write in Japanese, & I'm sure they wouldn't accept english since it's meant to be for Japan. I really like this dev & really wish they would consider the opinions of other parts of the world, but i understand why it's Japan only.

@Trajan nah man I'm a huge persona fan depending on the day I think about my time with p3 more fondly than megaten. My point is they are both great games even if they are different and persona fans should definitely try these games if they have the chance.

Atlus... remaster/remake Persona's for Switch... Persona 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5, revive the Trauma Center Series (would be great now with the improved motion control tech of day), and make a new Catherine with more comprehensive dating/relationship aspects & less repetitive puzzles! All on Switch of course!
