Re: Interview: "There Would Be No Control On Switch Without The Cloud," Says Remedy

Zimon

I like the idea but I'm hesitant.
I want to know what the TOS says before a purchase.
Like, can I still play Control in two years?
How long are they garantueeing the servers will be up?
Without that knowlage I will never hit purchase.
I need some clearly defined terms here, not skimming through 28 pages of legal text.
What do I get for my money and specifically - for how long?
I think most people feel this is the biggest hurdle.

Re: Switch Owner Claims To Have Taken Nintendo To Court Over Joy-Con Drift, And Won

Zimon

Everytime I hear of this I think back to the Xbox 360. Imagine if Nintendo had the Red Ring of Death problem instead of the Xbox 360. Now we know their difference in policy.

Sure, you may argue that a bricked console is much worse than a drifting controller and of course you're right.

However, a faulty product is a faulty product.
At least Microsoft did the right thing and owned their mistake. Not only did they offer free replacements GLOBALLY but also fixing the problem in newer versions of the console.

Nintendo US is, afaik, the only devision that offers free joycon replacements. And it's been three years and Nintendo is still selling not only the same joycons but a whole console (Switch Lite) with the same poor design choice. Truly showing that they don't give a f.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 12th)

I bought Lapis X Labyrinth on the sale and it's pretty good! It reminds me of a 2D Diablo but with less intriguing levels.
You get better loot if you can play without getting hit. The higher the combo counter the more money and stuff you get. It's fun to see gems and coins flying all over the screen when you have a good run. It's very arcade-y feeling.
If you want a hectic hack'n'slash looter then it fits the bill.

Mercenaries Saga Chronicles are three good srpg's in the style of FFT but with poorer writing. (still a pretty interesting story). It's worth a buy if you like that type of gameplay. I still think Disgaea is better but Mercenaries is fine.

PAN-PAN was good too but very short. Like you can finish it in one hour. It has some good puzzles tho.

World Conqurer X is absolute trash! The presentation and muffled generic sound effects screams mobile game. All missions are ranked on a three star system just like all mobile f2p games.
The models and the backgrounds don't use the same art-style at all. Feels like you're moving around stickers more than actual military units. It's garbage! Buy Civ or Wargroove instead.

Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About 'Limited-Time' Games From Nintendo?

Zimon

What irks me is that they are doing this during a pandemic.
I can understand them limiting physical supplies but removing the digital version is just ***** to people who are stuggling right now.

Also, I can easily see EA, Activision and Ubisoft taking notes. I hate FOMO tactics! I always have ever since store exclusive pre-orders was a thing.

Re: Review: Spiritfarer - A Striking Yet Benignly Haunting Gem With Big Ideas

@Panopticon I'd say it's a little better than that. While you can't do the same thing at the same time. (you cannot both fish for instance) you can do different things.
One can cook up foods, plot a course, smelt some metal or water plants while the other fishes or talks to everyone.
There is one catch. Daffodil can not talk to other characters (because it's a cat). You can hug and give items tho but no dialogue for player 2. Other than that you can do the same thing.

It's slow in the beginning but after 5 hours you'll beg player 2 to help out because there is something to manage all the time. Daffodil can even rearrage the buildings.
And you have a shared inventory and money so it really encourages you to plan this boat ride together.

Re: Surprise! Spiritfarer Launches On Nintendo Switch Today

I'm six hours in. It's really really really good!
It feels like a Studio Ghibli movie with Animal Crossing, Wind Waker, Gris and Fallout Shelter gameplay mixed together.
Supposedly it's between 25-55 hours long depending on if you want to find everything.

Yeah, I'd say this is a GOTY contender for sure!
