Re: Another Cloud Game Is On Its Way To Nintendo Switch This July

Zimon

I would be much more inclined to buy a subscription with access to a library of games. Like let's say a cloud based Xbox Game Pass. At least then I'm entiteled to a partial refund should the servers be turned off.

When I put down a bigger one-time payment I want to have access to the game regardless of my internet connection. I will never pay 30-60 for an online-only game that can have it's servers shut down at any time, essentially rendering my purchase pointless.

The only exception to this is if the game is an mmo.

Re: The E3 2021 Awards Winners Are In, But Nintendo Lost Out

"Overall most anticipated: Forza.."
Are you high? There was 30 youtube videos for every Forza video talking about "Super Nintendo Switch" or "Switch Pro". I'm not exaggerating saying there was 2-5 new videos in my feed covering that topic every single day.

Don't get me wrong, I do agree that Xbox won E3 with the amount of content. Especially if you have Gamepass.
Nintendo had very little 'new' reveals and they absolutely dropped the ball on Zelda's and Donkey Kongs anniversary.

But hey, Monster Hunter Stories 2, Wario Ware and Advance Wars was enough to make me happy.
Do I think that applies to the majority? Hell no!

Buy it now. It's really good. Probably my favorite Klei game to date. And I'm not usually into deck building games.

Re: Review: SnowRunner - A Slow And Steady Off-Road Trucker

Game is fun and runs well enough. It's very relaxing so it works perfectly as a "podcast game".
My three gripes are 1. only the host gets mission progress in multiplayer sessions. Guests only gets cash, exp, unlocked upgrades/trucks.
2. No in-game radio to listen to some nice tunes on long hauls. I understand that would have required some music licensing but it would have been nice. Not a big deal but I did look for for it.
3. The map UI is a bit confusing. It's hard to tell which trailers and cars are part of a quest and which ones are up for grabs. The only way to find out is to go through every single mission and see if it shows up in the objectives.

But I really like this game. If you're looking for a chill game this one fits the bill excellently.

Re: Dev Explains Why Nintendo Made Mario's Anniversary Games Limited-Time

Zimon

You know fomo is a strong market munipulation tool but so is good will.
And this kind of stunts hurts Nintendo's pretty bad in my opinion.
I'll switch console brand real quick if this becomes a common thing.
Making Amiibos scarce on purpose back in the day, the joycon drift, removing VC console, the current state of Super Mario Party, charging 60€ for WiiU ports, no headphone jack on the pro controller. It's droplets of irritation that can quickly add up to an overall bad experience.
Anyway I'll go back to playing Monster Hunter Rise now.

Re: Sony And RTS Jointly Acquire Fighting Game Tournament EVO, Nintendo Responds

@Wexter because Nintendo cancelled a Smash Melee tournament that used a mod to give it online compatibility due to the pandemic. The mod would be used on legally bought Smash Melee copies of the game. Nintendo shut it down.

Then people got so angry even the Splatoon 2 community joined in the backlash, using SaveSmash in their team names in an upcoming tornament. Nintendo shut that down too.

Tl:dr Nintendo shut down a Smash Melee and a Splatoon 2 tournament because of a harmless mod that had nothing to do with piracy and was necessary during the pandemic.

Re: Gnosia

The game is great. 9/10
What if Warewolf was a rogue-lite visual-novel rpg?

Each run is randomized with different roles for the crew members. You are either a human trying to vote out the Gnosia (the killer(s)) or you could also be a Gnosia yourself, trying to kill everyone without being discovered yourself.

There are several other roles as well like the engineer, who can test a selected person if they are Gnosia, or the Guardan Angel, who can defend one selected crew member from death each night.

Each run rewards you an amount of exp depending on if you win or lose which let's you level up different stats that helps you detect lies, be more influential, less likely to be targeted or being able to see further back in the voting logs for example.

It has no voice-acting and the dialogue can get repetitive after a while (especially during voting) but thanks to a good A.I, the random roles and great writing it's always suspenseful and quite challenging to find out who are the Gnosia.
