Immortals Fenyx Rising - previously known as Gods & Monsters - arrives on the Nintendo Switch early next month. If you're planning on downloading a digital copy of the game, you might be interested to know just how much space it will require.
According to the eShop game page, the file size of this grand open-world mythological adventure is 13.2 GB. For a game that's drawn a lot of comparisons to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it's not far off its digital size, either. A digital copy of Zelda takes up 14.4 GB in total.
To go with this, we've got a new trailer from Nintendo's showcase earlier this week:
Take on mythological beasts, master the legendary powers of the gods and defeat Typhon, in an epic fight for the ages. An epic and humourous adventure awaits. Time to answer the call!
When Immortals Fenyx Rising is released, it'll be priced at £49.99 / $59.99. Will you download this game? Comment below.

I really want this. I am purely waiting on someone to tell me how it performs on switch
This is the most excited for a new switch game I've been in a while! Though it does remind me almost too much of BOTW. I hope it's a unique enough game.
I'm just hoping that we find out about how it performs on Switch at least a few days before launch. I preordered it like a year back when it was a little cheaper than it is now so I don't want to cancel it and buy it later but I don't want to commit until I know it runs well enough.
Will probably pick up at some point, probably on sale. If Switch performance is poor then I'll probably get elsewhere. Not expecting it to be on a par though with other versions, as long as its a decent version I'll go Switch.
Once it's in a sale i will get it. The demo on Stadia impressed me.
After Age of Calamity flopped on the demo, this is now the only game I want from this year.
Funny how Ubisoft ist mostly known these days for being on sale all the time if nothing else.
I am very excited for this game and I hope it works well on the Switch. Otherwise I will for the PS4 edition
Framerate comments in 3....2....1.... 🤔No? Lol
I'd also like to know if the full game is on a cart or if I'll need to download the majority.
I'll hold off until Epic gives it away for free. Nice to see Ubi try something different (for them), but like all their games, still looks too generic.
@HollowSpectre Going by that digital file size it should be all on the cartridge as they'd be using a 16GB cartridge for it. The box would have that ugly warning on it otherwise. Could always be a large-ish update day one or soon after launch to fix/improve things though which is often the case these days.
Eh this is ok on file size. Not too greedy, not like those 2K games.
I'm going to get this on the Series X. It would look great in 4K
Will definitely get this for PC once a sale happen. I'll only get the Switch version if a physical release exist. All the other versions unless they had something exclusive those I would pass.
Didn't this game start out as a Switch exclusive before being announced for other platforms? If that's the case, it gives me some hope for how the Switch version will perform. I love Greek mythology and BotW, so I can't help but be excited for its release.
So a 16GB cartridge is enough. I hope UBI do not cheap out and use 8GB.
@Razer Wait, did it flop with the demo? Sure, it has performance issues, and is not using native resolution, that really does not mean the game in itself isn't good, the gameplay was just as fun as all musou games have been, and the story seems to be pretty interesting, and I bet it'll be leagues ahead of Breath of the Wild on that regard, and the shortcomings really aren't stopping the fanfare and hype around the game
@Toph6661 Me too, I wish good performance was guaranteed.
@LillianC14 how’s Stadia working for you? How broad is your broadband?
@batata sorry I meant flopped for me. Not in that it's a commercial flop.
It could well be very successful.
But after playing the demo, it flopped for me. I think I actually prefer Bayonetta or Devil May Cry style hack and slash type games.
Anybody looking to save a few $, on sale on Switch cart on Amazon US for $50 rather than $60. Not a Prime thing far as I can tell, just $50 on each of the 3 consoles. Reminder, Amazon doesn't charge until they ship, so you have about 4 weeks to change your mind and cancel if the Switch version runs like trash. I'm pretty sure I'll get this on PS4 for like $30 early next year.

There's just something about this game that doesn't sit right with me, unfortunately. I might try it someday, but it'll have to be at a significant discount. Knowing Ubisoft, though, that shouldn't be too far off in the future.
Well...at least all of the game should be on the cartridge for the physical release. Unless Ubisoft cheap-out and use a cartridge with less space? I wouldn't be surprised.
@Francema works really well! No issues on any of the 3 devices I've used it on (main PC, Chromebook and Chromecast Ultra). Our internet is well above the minimum for 1080p (got 110 Mbps down, 11 Mbps up), I think you only need around 10 Mbps down for 1080p, which is all I need.
I've got AC Valhalla pre-ordered which should keep me busy with the Ubisoft gameplay loop for a few months.
I will probably pick this up after Christmas in the sales.
This and hyrule warriors for me over Christmas 😊
this game will look and run like trash on switch
I'm excited for this game. I don't care if it's trying to clone off of Zelda BOTW. I welcome good clones of great games. IMO there's nothing wrong with mimicking a masterpiece and putting your own spin on it. Nobodys expecting BOTW quality and success, but I hope it performs well.
@Casual_Gamer95 Lol did you even see the trailer? Not trying to sound rude, but it looks really good on Switch, albeit not as good as on other platforms, but hey, it looks good for a portable ps3, and if you want a portable version of the game that won't fry your battery, this version is near perfect.
Btw, I remember that you sold your Switch because of Joy Con Drift. That's a valid reason, but you could've gotten the Split Pad Pro for handheld play and a pro controller for tabletop and tv mode.
How many GB download will the physical version require? (My guess is 9)
I think 13.2 gb sounds suspiciously small for this game. We'll see.
This game will not run well on switch, as with almost all other 3rd parties
@ritouf Heh... as much as I was looking forward to playing it soon too, the game has to actually come out first. There's not really a lot of reason to believe it will even come out this year at this point.
@Ralizah I think it's the art style because it just looks a bit weird and off. Just go and look at some of the screenshots with the character's face in them, I'm still looking forward to the game with that said though.
@LillianC14 I'm also on Stadia, feel free to add me. 🆕 <—my username 🙂
13.2 isn’t big at all in 2020.
@Astro76 don’t really see why any fan of gaming wouldn’t be a Nintendo fan since they have released many all time classics. The same way I am a fan of all good games developers. This is clearly inspired by BOTW but it doesn’t matter, it is different enough and looks fantastic.
No. Downloading games for the most part is the most expensive way of buying games.
If I buy it, it will be physical, and only after reading a few reviews.
@zombi3wolf I thought I read that Epic was discontinuing their free games after this year.

@batata
The hell? I didn't post anything
@LillianC14 Glad to hear that! I really think this is the future, eventually. Happy to hear that´s working in some markets already. Hopefully, this enables competition and better prices for users! Thank you.
Aside from AoC, its my most hyped 2020 game
Day 1. Can’t wait to customize Fenyx. Going caramel skin and dreadlocks (if available). Female. I enjoy making characters as close to me as I can
Much like Genshin Impact, I might play this game for a bit before my interest is taken away by Age of Calamity.
It also looks like Ubisoft managed to avoid the blue download symbol this time. That's certainly one good thing I see coming out.
I played the Stadia demo and it was absolutely gorgeous on there, so that's where I'll be picking it up.
1/4 price within 6 month.
@SenseiDje : I'll give it 6 weeks.
Are we gonna have microtransactions on this game?Anyone knows?
I think they have made a mistake changing the game from God's and Monsters.
Immortals Fenyx Rising is a really forgettable name, and one that does not make you think you want to play the game, Gods and Monsters does.
@Silly_G . Don’t be foolish, are we talking about the switch version or the xbox one ??
I pity those poor steam buyers... maybe it’s already on sale 🥳😂
Looks like 30 FPS to me, I just wonder how much it dips below the 30 FPS mark.
I am just going to get the Series X version and not risk it since you can also stream your own Xbox console to Phones and Tablets now to get that on the go experience.
@Ezalor13 There are purely for cosmetic stuff I think.
@NathanTheAsian This is way better than Genshin Impact can ever hope to be. I played both and this is way better in every way lol.
@Ralizah Go play the demo on Stadia for Free right now if you want to try it and be blown away.
@Jokerwolf I don't have stadia. And even if I did, game streaming has never worked well for me.
There'll probably be a Switch demo closer to launch, I imagine. And if there's not... shrug
@Ralizah Everyone has stadia, you literally use your gmail account and follow the quick setup for your permissions of who can see you in games and you are done, it is all browser based. The demo is exclusive to stadia so you won't be seeing it on other platforms unfortunately.
Download? No. Physical? Yes.
I'm getting it on PS4, but also renting the Switch version from GameFly. If the Switch version performs well, ill probably keep that one too so I have a copy to play on the go.
Since this game takes advantage of Ubisofts new Ubisoft Connect feature and has cross save game files, I can play it on my PS4 at home and Switch on the go.
Pass. Getting age of calamity instead.
@Astro76 Lack of open world? I'm sure the NES had more of those than before any platform ever existed. The first Zelda game was open world.
@zool Are you sure though? I still want to know how that immortal fenyx will rise. I already know that the game will have gods and monsters.
@Ezalor13 yep.
I hold off on open world Ubisoft games because they are usually really buggy on launch but I'm looking forward to play it a few weeks later.
@SKTTR I see a bright future as a gaming journalist for you. 😄
@Retro_Player_77 I'm sure. Gods and Monsters is much more memorable.
They could have called it "a sort of Zelda game" gamers who are interested would want to know why/how.😄
@Razer Well in that case, it's fine, you don't HAVE to love every single game made, people have their preferences, and musou games aren't for everyone anyways, if you wanna know the story, it's best to watch gameplay videos if that's what you're into
@InsaneInfernape Why did you @ me for no reason at all?
@batata no I just said I'm into a different type of hack and slash game.
But thanks for your pointless suggestion.
@batata seems you didn't see what I posted after
@Razer Welp, it seems trying to be polite hurts people nowadays, great, I was just saying as many people seem to be interested in wanting to know the story, but thanks for your pointless input.
Does anyone know if the whole game is on the cartridge or if there’s a massive download (outside of that day 1 patch) .... somehow I cannot see Ubisoft using a 16gb cart
