1) You need an Internet connection to make sure you don't cheat the system by changing the system clock, and to check what new badges are available.

2) You can get free plays by finding the blue bonus badge (1 free play) or the red super bonus badge (3 free plays). These are somewhat rare. You also earn 1 free play for every 10 practice badges you accumulate, and these can be carried over from day to day. Bonus and super bonus badges do not count towards your practice badge count. If you're lucky, you can also earn a free play just for booting up the game.

3) Because you can earn free plays from the practice catcher, you're only limited to one go a day. (And also to get more money from you because you can't practice infinitely)

@tudsworth No, no. The actual Zones are fully functional, and the distributions are still occurring. But there's a Nintendo Zone app on the 3DS that is completely unusable now. Try booting it up.

EDIT: Perhaps it's only for North America, but the point remains still.

I love how with all these stability updates they don't even bother with removing the dead Nintendo Zone app.

GameStop will also have "rare" amiibo that day as well. It'll still be at MSRP, but it'll be interesting to see what amiibo will be available. The Ike amiibo is pictured in the ad.

You've always gotten up to 6 StreetPass hits at a Nintendo Zone. However, since it is a National StreetPass Weekend, all the data gets mixed around so you can get people from other places around the country.

So this is why two characters in game want us to make sure that SpotPass is on! I knew it!

@rockerztonight1 No. The game really only shines in multiplayer. Both online or local is fine, but multiplayer is the only way to enjoy this game.

Wow, the attention to detail here is incredible. You can actually distinguish the games they have on display. I can make out Pikmin 3, Mario Party 10, and Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U display, and I can see Majora's Mask 3D and Xenoblade Chronicles 3D on the 3DS display.

EDIT: I can also see Xenoblade Chronicles X on the Wii U display as well.

However, do note that tapping the icon and pressing A or B only temporarily puts them on the blacklist. After the stage is over, you can permanently put them on the list.

Also, you can only have 100 people on your blacklist. Any additions after that will delete your oldest ones.

For those of you unaware, MSRP for an amiibo is $12.99, but TRU charges $13.99 for some arbitrary reason. I wonder how much of an increase we'll see with Mega Yarn Yoshi.

@ECM To be fair, the game was probably retranslated because the original translation left a lot to be desired.

I'm not certain about what I think about infinite weapon use, but I suppose emphasizing the use of fighting with the correct weapon is more thoughtful game design.

@MitchVogel Well...perhaps. But they said this when they announced the £1.5 mil stretch goal:

"Any extra money we raise will of course go towards improving and polishing the game."

I don't recall them saying that this is the final stretch goal....just that any additional money raised will be used to polish and improve the game in addition to adding the DLC. They said the same exact thing with the orchestrated music stretch goal.

Not that I'm saying that they will continue to add stretch goals after this one is met, only that we can't assume that this is the final one.

@Sir_JBizzle Again, Wii U discs are single layered and only hold 25 GB. Seeing that we haven't seen a single game use a dual layered disc, and that the developers of this game said they were thinking they would have to use two discs, it's obvious that the Wii U simply doesn't support multilayered discs for Wii U games.

@Muyounosuke This article is proof enough. Why would they even consider using a second disc at one point of development when adding a second layer to a disc is an option?

@Jayvir Blu-Ray technically supports 8 layers, but the Wii U optical disc is not Blu-Ray. It's similar, but not quite.

@DiscoGentleman @Muyounosuke Ok, I was technically wrong, so I'll explain. The Wii U can read dual layered Wii discs just like the Wii, but the disc reader that it uses for Wii U discs can't read multiple layers. That's what I meant to say, but I thought the Wii U reading dual layered Wii discs was an obvious given. Apparently not.
