The Super Mario series of amiibo toys has, in some cases, been just as hard to find as the Super Smash Bros. run, though gamers in Europe have at least had options with the full range. While the Mario toy has been for sale individually and as part of a Mario Party 10 bundle in PAL territories, in North America this figure has been limited to the game bundles.
While the deal itself isn't bad - the bundle values the Mario amiibo at just $10 - it's not ideal for collectors that don't want the Wii U minigame title. In some positive news Nintendo of America has now, however, confirmed that the individual toy will come to the region on 3rd April.
While it's not the rarest of amiibo figures - certainly far less-so than Gold Mario and a host of Smash Bros. characters - this is nevertheless welcome. Perhaps stock supplies will continue to improve in North America, though we expect some of the upcoming waves to still be rare and hard to find.
Are you a fan of this Super Mario amiibo, and will you be tempted to pick it up on its own?

Finally! I was not going to buy Mario Party 10 just to get this figure!
Will Nintendo finally confirm the release date for Wave 4 amiibo as well? Oh well, glad to see it finally be sold individually.
Australia has sucked for stocking any of the Amiibos (at least my local stores).
After months of not being able to find a single Amiibo, I saw the whole Mario Party range yesterday. Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach, Bowser (and yes even) Toad. Who knows how long they will last in store? I decided to get Yoshi, Toad and Bowser while they were still available. My first Amiibos!
Available exclusively at eBa- wait, this one's Mario. No eBay exclusivity this time!
Blah! Well I just bought mine off a friend for 18 bucks! Oh well, no biggie. It's what I would've had to pay if I brought it online. Plus it's probably the universe evening the score for scoring my Peach and Yoshi Super Mario amiibo for 9.88 at Walmart the other day. (they had those mixed in with their Smash variants and apparently had been overriding the price all day)
In any case, I hope that means we'll finally get a pre-order date for Wave 4 in the US, so I can cancel my order from Japan.
I still want a Rosalina Amiibo, and am hoping a non-Smash version comes soon.
@Nintendzoey Really? I have got all but King Dedede and Marth. I only got Toad in the Super Mario range as I have all of the others in the Smash Bros range. I had to do a lot of early preordering though,
You're right this isn't as rare as the gold mario amiibo. That thing is far more rare than it should be. Real fans aren't even able to grab their share of these things for retail price. /rant
@brewsky Nintendo confirmed that they held back wave 4 because of the port strike.
@icedude545 that is actually a great idea, they should have done that! Yoshi theme for dedicated yoshi fans who buy the amiibo etc....
fingers crossed for when/if they release Wii u themes!?!
I want wave 4 too. I skipped this Mario and Toad from this range. Got the other 4 off UK to see Amazon US has them in stock. Oh well.
Ah, that explains why he wasn't showing up on Amazon (US) yesterday along w/ all the others. I had no idea he wasn't sold separately. Not that it should matter as there are plenty of SSB Mario available in stores.
Well Amazon has him now, sort of, sign up to be notified. Still better than yesterday.

They should have put a speaker in the stand and a little button when pressed it said "It's a'me, Mario". That would justify it's existence.
Great. Can we now get the Gold Mario amiibo in Europe please?
And the announcement of the 3DS adapter soon, pretty please?
I just like this Mario better than the SSB one, myself. So, it's good that it's available this way, too. Effective but disappointing that they'd wait until after the initial Mario Party bundles launched to let people know for sure that you'd be able to get Mario separately. I honestly have no idea why people want that gold Mario, though. It has to be completionists only, right?
On a related note: Nintendo really needs to refresh stock of all of these or get those cards out. Having shortages doesn't help them. At all.
@Grumblevolcano But it's been resolved. It shouldn't be an issue at this point.
But why are the Mario-series larger than the Smash ones? Why would Nintendo change the scales between Amiibo ranges? It's so dumb because it makes me only want Smash ones now that all match each other better.
I got a gold one
#trolltime
I'll keep my eyes out for the Wave 4 amiibos on 4/3.
@brewsky Not exactly, it'll take a while for deliveries to fully return to normal given that the large backlog can only be sorted at a certain rate. It's kind of like how a large traffic jam isn't automatically cleared when the cause is removed.
i have all smash bros amiibo so far...as for marioparty i have peach, mario, and gold mario. collection is open and yes i do own a wii u, see u scalpers in line. if u dont streetpass me you instantly lose my respect and i will cut in line and outrun you to the amiibo section.
i have toad also...
I just want a Toad (and maybe a Gold Mario if I somehow see one) and that'll be it for this line, as I don't want any of the others.
Are other amiibo coming out April 3rd?
