All of which means its going to be another console that gets little third party support after the initial launch but with all of Nintendo developing software for it (instead of being split between handheld and home console) it should still have a great line-up of games
Good to the USA eshop equalizing with the European one which until this update was hands down beating the USA shop. Very tempted by a lot of these but, damn, can I bring myself to stop playing Zelda?
Only played the most recent Tales Of. It had wonderful graphics, great characters and music but the gameplay sucked. Confusing combat rules that mean you just have to button mash and a blatently linear story
presumably after the failure of the Wii U and this being viewed by many as make or break for Nintendo, I'd expect them to have something big up their sleeve on this front.
shame it's just a teaser trailer. Good idea ditching the vertical manoeuvre gear, though, the previous games slavish devotion to recreating that faithfully kind of held it back, IMO
The first 3DS game was a funny beast. So faithful to the whole concept of the show that it hampered how it played. Every time I pick it up, I have to do the training again before playing the game! I respect it more than I enjoy it.
Having just moved to the US from Europe two months ago, I can tell you the Wii U has a much bigger presence in America than it does in Europe. You see it stocked in every electronics outlet and game shop. In the UK it was removed from most electronics outlets over a year ago and only game shops sell the games.
oh man, been waiting for this one for ages. So glad to see it here at last. Typical it's dropped when I am broke. Hopefully get paid before the deal with Pikmin ends
I'm not one for 1st person shooters. I loved Doom when it came out but got bored with the clones. Nothing did it for me until Goldeneye but again, more dull clones and hated Halo. Splatoon was the first one I enjoyed again after Goldeneye. I also despise the whole $100 game season pass BS so major props to Nintendo for giving us free updates on this and Mario Maker and cheap DLC for Smash Bros and Mario Kart. Here's to hoping the NX is a very big hit, they continue their free/cheap DLC ways and other follow their lead.
Well, I've often been dismissive of those complain about localisation changes but I guess at least these guys are doing something about it and if encourages more folks to buy the game then I guess that's a good thing?
It's a real shame and it's a sad day but things can go back to normal after a Brexit. All Britain needs is a brilliant Prime Minister with immense integrity, tons of charisma, amazing negotiation skills, a quick mind and a big heart. Hey, a guy can dream, right?
@Shogun474 SMTIV is in the current eshop 50% deal. It's a self-contained story with no references to the previous games, many of which never got translated to English.
Makes a lot of sense. With their release schedule seeming to have stopped for the Wii U in favour of the NX which seems to be delayed, this would be the perfect way to quickly get some new stuff to the fans. I'd expect more Smash Bros DLC too - Linkle needs to join the action!
Chinese fans: give us the Pokémon games! Nintendo: ok, we will do a Chinese translation Chinese fans: How dare you! Give us 40 different Chinese translations!
Guess fans acting brattish and entitled isn't just a Western thing
Nothing in my gaming life has ever quite matched those early arcade experiences. Back then the machines seemed so high powered compared to home computers. The volume was cranked up and the games were fast and intense. As a UK gamer, it was something you'd just experience on seaside holidays rather than anywhere locally so it always felt like a special occasion. Makes me go all misty-eyed just thinking about it.
Oh man, I bought MH4U when it came out but I still feel like I've not got far enough into it to start on another one (still playing MH3U on my Wii U too) but the giant magic owl kinda sways it on this one...,
@Ogbert Very good point. I put down $23 to show the love for charity and to HB for bringing this to the EU this time. Even then, it was still a spectacular bargain
I consider myself someone who buys quite a few downloads for both my 3DS and my Wii U but I didn't have any of these so chalk me up as one happy chappy
@Indielink @henmii Yeah, paypal sucks when you're the seller getting their cut taken off you but when you're the buyer it's painless. I get your point about store credit but I've never had any store credit since they brought in the "pay exact price" option back in...2010 or whenever it was. This is a load of games for less than the price of a large pizza from a famous chain!
@Henmii It's really not very difficult to do and it's both for a good cause and a fantastic deal. Also, the new Nintendo website has a page for entering download codes so you can just cut and paste them into that, saving all the tapping away on the code screen of the eshop. https://eshop.nintendo.net/redeem
I'm a great believer in taking as long as it takes for these things but its frustrating to see such an empty release schedule for the Wii U. Hopefully they'll drop a few surprises for us before they go..

Why would they expect anyone to support this? Later is acceptable but making it more expensive really is setting it up to fail.
