We were rather impressed by Nintendo Presents: New Style Boutique 2 - Fashion Forward earlier this year; if you're the target audience, then it's well worth a look.
In any case, those yet to jump into the 3DS generation - or looking for an affordable option for a child / loved one - have another option coming this week. A pink 2DS with the game pre-installed arrives on 7th October, and though the game can be found cheap online it's still a decent deal.
It's priced £79.99 in the UK, and the Smyths in Ireland is listing it for €109.99.
It could be a decent stocking filler, though there are certainly other tempting 2DS bundles, including Pokémon Sun and Moon options on the way in November.

Ugh. Not every girl likes pink Nintendo. I'll pick up the game though.
NX is a vanity mirror. Only amiibo have reflections.
If this was coming to USA I would be tempted to buy my daughter this for Christmas. I am eyeing the $150 3ds right now, but didn't want her tempted to destroy her eyes with the 3d feature.
@JohnBlackstar You can set the Nintendo 3DS up to disable the 3D feature, so if you turn the 3D button on, it won't activate the 3D feature.
@Ryu_Niiyama To be fair, it doesn't actually state this is a bundle for "girls". The package feels very gender neutral.
I do wish fashion didn't mean pink automatically.
@RadioShadow Thanks - I did not know that!
@RadioShadow Please show me any western marketing towards males that includes pink and doesn't try to convince males that they can retain their masculinity and wear pink. It just isn't done even now. Marketing still adheres to the boy blue toy, girl pink toy syndrome and to the emotion color wheel. Heck look at the pic for the 2DS relaunch article and tell me what colors each kid is holding.
Typical gender neutral colors used in marketing are yellow, light blue, silver and grey. Admittedly bad choices for handheld, but it is what it is. Red would have been a more neutral choice (even though it is considered "aggressive or bold" and thus "off putting" to females). White would have worked as well.
Edit: I do acknowledge that this is a UK bundle and thus their marketing color pallet may be different than America's, but I am willing to bet my next paycheck that color choice was made to appeal to females.
this bundle is only for super casual girls looking for a game console
If this bundle were a different color and would hit NA, I'd probably finally convince my sister to step into this handheld generation.
@Ryu_Niiyama You are right, this silly world states "girls = pink | boys = blue", where companies like Hasbro and Mattel use pink to advertise and sell their toys aimed at girls like My Little Pony, Littlest Pet Shop, Barbie, Monster High etc. That will not change sadly. Its really a shame as some of the cartoons based on the toy line are decent.
What does irritate me more is liking or wearing pink makes you a homosexual, which is utter trash. It doesn't work like that, wearing a pink shirt for example won't suddenly make me like the same sex, I would still be attracted to the opposite sex (in my case, females).
The thing is, each and everyone of likes different things. There are girls out there that like pink, while others don't. The colors I like are Blue, Green, Orange and Violet (a nice combination of Pink & Purple). I always say, "You like what you want to like!".
Yes, they most likely pick the Pink 2DS because the game is aimed more towards girls. At least the game actually looks decent, and even slightly peaks my interest.
In Europe?, oh well....
I hope that that cute bundle arrive to America. ^.^
@RadioShadow Yeah color coded marketing is horrible. I look at it and I wonder if it has merit because it is what is widely used or is it widely used because it has merit. I've always hated pink as a color (prefer green actually) and had to endure getting barbie dolls when I wanted super heroes. My parents got the hint after they noticed all my barbies were dressed up like ninjas. Lucky for me my mom is a gamer (because my father felt girls shouldn't play them sigh ).
Yet there is the other side of the spectrum too. If you reject some aspects of socially constructed femininity (or masculinity) all of a sudden it is either shocking or a relief if you embrace other aspects. I'm a practical woman and I prefer t-shirts and jeans, but if I dress up friends and family act like the apocalypse is inbound. What you wear and your interests have literally no bearing on your chromosomes. Simple logic but it seems half the world doesn't understand that.
Also, I never understood why the world seems to think there is a uniform for being male or female or homosexual or heterosexual for that matter. It is pretty absurd all around. Where what you want; do what you want (so long as it is legal) it won't change who and what you are.
Either way I'll pick up the game. Looks fun.
i wish that white 3ds that was bundled with this game previously had been made available stateside. even better if there had been a black version.
fwiw, the game is a lot of fun tho.
@Ryu_Niiyama
Psst... to be honest, my 3DS XL is..... Pink and White color. XD
And i'm a 32 years old adult male player. XD
Indeed, i'm also play Style Savvy Fashion Forward and have finished the storyline.
@RadioShadow
My favorite color is Aquamarine, Turquoise and Indigo Blue. Also like Pink color like Magenta. I don't mind if i must wear Pink color. Instead, i can show off the Power of the Pink. True gentleman wear Pink, if i remembered the quote from someone... XD
@Anti-Matter That is great! Don't get me wrong, I am not knocking the men that go against the grain, as I said I don't fit a lot of the marketing for females. My comments are against color/gendered marketing in general.
How did you like the first one? This one will be the first one I pick up but if the first game is good as well I may go back and pick it up as well.
