@BloodNinja Making a comeback thanks to the new movie. I first watched the 1984 movie and the miniseries about 15 years ago (I have the 1984 movie on DVD).
My sister and I have to duke it out over who’s buying HHP for Mom as a Christmas gift (she bought Mom the Switch Lite while my other sister and I bought the game).
A bunch of friends and I share the Family NSO subscription and we’re upgrading, so I’ll have it. 😊
I managed to get my hands on the DSiWare version by buying an old DSi for $40 with a couple other DSi games on it, transferring them to my New 2DS XL, then trading in the DSi at GameStop for $20. I also have FSA
At least $150 last I looked. I might’ve considered getting one with the $1400 stimulus and my tax return, but I just bought a car and I still have two tuition payments for this term.
Game & Watch Super Mario Bros.,NES Classic, SNES Classic, N64, GBA, DS, New 2DS XL, Wii U (hacked for GC), Switch, PlayStation Classic, PS3, PS4, Genesis Classic (@Games), Genesis Mini, Xbox (OG), Xbox One S, regular laptop for The Sims and Dragon Age
I sometimes put on music to help with homework or just use The Lord of the Rings as background noise. Lord of the Rings and rain sounds help me sleep too.
I have mine sitting next to my NES Classic, SNES Classic, GBA (fuschia), PlayStation Classic, Genesis Mini, and original Xbox. This is why I laid claim to my parents’ old entertainment center (Mom doesn’t want it anymore). 1. Ocarina of Time 2. Majora’s Mask 3. Mario Kart 64 4. Super Mario 64 5. Diddy Kong Racing (reason I bought a replacement console) 6. Super Smash Bros. 7. Yoshi’s Story 8. Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards 9. Banjo-Kazooie 10. Pokémon Snap
@dugan I had the same thought whenever I saw the Bokoblin in stores. But I got it, along with Mewtwo, this summer to complete my Zelda and Pokemon sets.
The amiibo I most regret not buying is Mega Yarn Yoshi. I didn't know it was a Toy R Us exclusive till it was too late (same goes for the gold N64 with 2 matching controllers) and I hardly ever went to Toys R Us. Even if I weren't an amiibo collector I would want it because it's a big, knitted Yoshi.
I got my mom (69) addicted to New Horizons when I let her try it on my Switch in April. She’s retired and Dad and I are at work 9 hours a day, so it gives her something to do. It’s also been therapeutic for her since she’s dealing with isolation, cancer (just diagnosed this month), loss of a cat we had for 20 years, and loss of a sisters-in-law.
10/10. Don’t ask me how I knew the name “King Harkinian” before learning about the cartoon, comics and CD-i games because I have no idea where that tidbit came from. I also don’t know how I learned Ganondorf’s last name.
I played New Horizons irregularly till Mom started playing and got hooked (I leave my Switch in her room when I leave for work at 6 am so she can play while I’m gone). Now I go straight to her room when I get home from work and we kind of take turns for hours
@Crockin Nerds of a certain age. Myself included since just yesterday I wore an N64 shirt and hoodie till I could get a new shirt for Star Wars Day (I’d already worn all my short-sleeved SW shirts)
In 2018, I literally spent almost an entire day playing Mario Kart (all except 7) and reviewing Deluxe for an assignment...then I played 7 during my lunch break the next day.
Disney had its Dark Ages for a couple decades after Walt died (mind you, some of my favorites are from that time period) and now look at them. Apple is doing just fine without Steve Jobs.
Nintendo has survived since 1889, sometimes with barely anything at all, and they’ve lost other legends over the years. Younger generations need a chance to shine too and it’s not like he hasn’t taught them well. And it’s not like he’d be taking Mario and Zelda with him.
@Anti-Matter PC because it's the best version and how I've played for 20 years. I've got tons of CC and mods.
As for how I deal with tempting DLC and expansions...I have EVERYTHING for every mainline game plus Medieval. I even have the TS1 soundtrack in my iTunes collection. I have a problem XD
Sims 4 and Animal Crossing. I’m trying to get into the habit of playing Animal Crossing for at least a few minutes every day and I’m collecting iron for building the shop.
My parents bought it for me for Christmas, so I’m good. Also have all the Wii Fit and Wii Sports games. Add that to lifting boxes of various sizes/weights and climbing ladders 5 days a week
Don’t turn the Koopa Troopas or whatever into a rehash of the Minions, please.
I wish they’d gone with Disney (come on, they already had Bowser and mentioned Mario in Wreck-It Ralph), Pixar, or DreamWorks. I trust those three to give me a quality product.
It was a sad day when my NES died. I still have the games, controllers, and Zapper.
Update them and the answer is YES. I do have the minis (along with the PlayStation and Genesis minis; they’re all on the same table as my N64 and OG Xbox), some VC, and NSO.
Now I need to visit GameStop and get more. I think I've got some cards lying around and I've got Isabelle, Digby, Mabel, Blathers, Celeste, and Tom Nook.
@DarthFoxMcCloud A Wolf Link villager would be awesome!
I had the OG Xbox while my sister and brother-in-law had all three. However, I spent a summer at their house, lived with them for several months, and was a frequent visitor after moving out. We played Mario Kart: Double Dash!! all the time and my brother-in-law and I beat both Twilight Princess and God of War together. I was about to beat Tetra to Outset Island when the dog ate the memory card.
GC was my favorite even though I didn’t have one. I got a black backwards compatible Wii with GC games as a 19th birthday present and took them to the dorm. I eventually made my Wii U play GC games and gave my Wii and all my physical GC/Wii games to my best friend since she never had either console.

@AJDarkstar It was exclusive to Toys R Us in the US 🙁

I'd LOVE a Zelda engagement ring. But I'd have to find a geeky guy who's a keeper and that's not going so well.

@Kutal Wonder how ymy sister would react since Toadette and Toad are her favorites and I don’t really know what she thinks of Minions.
Gotta admit that voice is obnoxious, but at least Toad isn’t stupid.

Going to play Sea of Thieves with my brother-in-law and niece. I also want to play The Sims 4 and probably Pokémon Shield.

I’m rather attached to the US pixel art and know why they made that choice, but I like the European one.
