Re: The Legend Of Zelda Live-Action Movie Has Officially Wrapped Filming

Vegeta937

@Torakaka Probably not for a little while now. Filming just wrapped and the movie is over a year away. Marketing might pick up, like casting announcements, screenshots, etc. But an actual teaser trailer probably won't surface until around the holidays. Honestly, they can hold off as long as they want - I am beyond skeptical for this, and I don't want my dreams of a Lord of the Rings-level Zelda movie to be dashed just yet 😅

Re: Resident Evil Requiem Reaches Another Impressive Sales Milestone

Vegeta937

@Vyacheslav333 Glad I'm not the only one. Resident Evil is my favorite game series of all time, with RE4 being my favorite game of all time. This one just does not resonate with me. I enjoyed it, and I'll eventually go back to it, but I was ready for it to be over and wasn't compelled to replay in the slightest. I had already played through Village several times on PS5, but I've already played through it twice on the Switch 2 since I finished Requiem, because it's actually replayable.

Re: Rumour: A Bunch Of LEGO Games Might Get The 'Switch 2 Edition' Treatment Soon

Vegeta937

@The_Nintendo_Pedant I don't disagree. It basically is, which is what I wanted for the longest time. I do feel like it's a bit beefier and a little more substantial of an upgrade than a Switch Pro would have been...but, not by much.

That being said, I'm content with what we got...mostly. Sucks it's been such a cluster**** so far with pricing, bad communication, and Nintendo seeming to go back to their greedy ways now that they're doing well again. Hopefully they'll get knocked down a peg or two so they'll start being a little more humble. Only time will tell.

Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Has Been Updated To Version 2.0.0, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Vegeta937

@Desa Basically this. And it's disheartening because even when Nintendo was making bad decisions (i.e. the entire Wii U generation), I stuck by them and defended them, knowing they'd bounce back. Then the Switch came along and proved me right...just for them to take all the good will they slowly built up over a console generation and, well...here we are.

It's like working for a boss that takes advantage of you being a good/hard worker. Seeing your potential, they slowly begin putting more stuff on your plate, but won't give you a raise, no matter how much you beg. At least then, I can go find another job...not like I can go find another Nintendo. Hence my love/hate relationship with them. But right now...eff 'em 🤷

Re: Team Cherry Provides One Last Silksong Update Before Launch

Vegeta937

@EarthboundBenjy I swear I mean this in no way disrespectful...but...maybe just bring your Switch 2 dock? Surely the higher performance is worth unplugging and re-plugging in two cables?

Once again, not being rude at all. Genuine question/suggestion. My guess is you just don't want to deal with taking the Switch 2 dock, which is fair. Guess it doesn't seem like a big deal to me 🤷

Re: Hitman: World Of Assassination Has A Hidden 'Performance Mode' On Switch 2

Vegeta937

@Ellie-Moo I feel this. I ordered a grip (the Moko Silicone soft grip) to make the console more ergonomic and easier to hold. I kept telling my friend that the grip sucked, that the silicone was too slick, the grips weren't big enough, and that I should have waited for companies to put out better options. I was just about to send the grip back when I started to realize my issues had nothing to do with the grip, and that the console was slipping out of my hands because of the sheer weight of it. Holding the console upright while playing caused me to be constantly fighting gravity to keep the system in position.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Donkey Kong Bananza?

Vegeta937

I've really enjoyed my time with this game. It was what I was more excited for when the Switch 2 direct premiered, and it hasn't disappointed. I definitely have more of an affinity for Mario, but DK is pretty up there with game characters I enjoy. Yoshi will always be my favorite, but has never had a game I've enjoyed quite as much as Mario and DK games. I'm surprised I'm seeing so many people saying they enjoy Odyssey more. It's a fair comparison since the games are made by the same team, but in the end they're completely different games, and not comparable in the least. I grew up with DKC, Super Mario, and I remember the joy I experienced when Mario 64 released...this game hits that vein for me. Great "launch" game, and a showcase of what the team behind Odyssey can do. Not sure what score I would give it as I've not finished the game, but the fun I'm having with it is definitely a 10/10.

Re: "One Of The Slowest Modern LCDs I've Ever Seen" - Digital Foundry's John Linneman On Switch 2's Display

Vegeta937

Been playing Tears of the Kingdom (Switch 2 upgraded version) on my 4K HDR TV, and last night I played handheld for the first time. Not gonna lie...it is a pretty significant downgrade. Especially coming off the OLED. Also, for reference, I have a cheap Walmart TCL TV I got on Black Friday two years ago. So, it's not like it's some high quality product. In any case, as most have said: it's...fine. Hopefully they can get an OLED model out at some point with a better battery life. In the meantime, I'm not upset. It's just one of those things I noticed.

Re: Opinion: In A Post BOTW And Elden Ring World, Xenoblade Chronicles X Is Still Daunting

Vegeta937

@Anakin "Mira really felt like more of a to do list than a dynamic, open world especially when it's put into hexagonal segments"

This is basically why I got burnt out on it. I love Xenoblade games - I have beaten 1,2, and 3 - and I do really like X...but at around 60 hours in, I realized that's all I was doing: fast travelling to locations just to knock out quests that were marked on my map/in my quest log. "Kill X amount of monsters, collect X amount of items, etc." The game isn't bad in any sense of the word, I just got burnt out because it was beginning to feel sloggy and monotonous. I'll go back to it, but I had to take a break.

I never felt this way with Breath of the Wild or Elden Ring. I put well over 200 hours into each game, and still wanted more.

Re: Yep, Metroid Prime 4's Box Art For Switch 2 Is... Corrupted

Vegeta937

@jetsetradion No, I feel you. I voted 10/10 on the poll Nintendo Life put up in the article asking what people thought of the direct. I can't help but get excited for new Nintendo consoles, and I always get caught up in that excitement. But, I also understand where people are coming from with certain criticisms. While not all of them I agree with, certain things like the paid for "instruction manual" I do. Though for that I say...just don't buy it, lol.

Re: Yep, Metroid Prime 4's Box Art For Switch 2 Is... Corrupted

Vegeta937

@Robinbird It's not just you. I'm not a fan of the reduced size of box art due to the large red Switch 2 banner at the top. But, I'm also not a collector like I used to be, so it doesn't really affect me - I went all digital for the OG Switch, and plan on continuing my digital library for Switch 2.

Re: Yep, Metroid Prime 4's Box Art For Switch 2 Is... Corrupted

Vegeta937

@Paper_Yoshi Much to my chagrin...yes, yes they are lol. You would be surprised at the amount of people who buy things without doing proper research or without paying proper attention to details without it being shoved in their faces.

Even though the box is clearly marked "Switch 2," the box size is going to be the same for both consoles, and a lot of people that aren't knowledgeable of gaming will probably overlook the fact that it's for a different system. It's unfortunate, but true.

Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting

Vegeta937

I understand people being apprehensive about the game prices. I know I have that feeling of "well, this sucks" in the pit of my stomach. But, for context...games (Like Turok on the N64) used to cost $74.99, etc, and that was in late 90s money. Adjusted for inflation, that is almost $150 today. So, I honestly am surprised it has taken this long for game prices to increase. Games take way longer to develop now, have much larger development teams, and have managed to stay $59.99 for years. In the case of Nintendo (and I am in no way defending them), their games come on carts that are far more expensive than a Blu-Ray, so I am honestly not surprised. Again, I am just as sour about it as everyone else. But, to play Devil's Advocate and be more realistic... it's been a long time coming.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition?

Vegeta937

@Spoony_Tech Even loading into the start screen only takes a few seconds. I actually Googled "Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition fast loading" to see if anyone else was pointing this out, but your comment is the first I've seen anyone else say anything about it. And you're right; for such a large game, it is insane how quickly the load times are. Probably the best I've seen on the Switch, actually.
