@RasandeRose Not played Doom on Switch and I've honestly not even tried them with RE: Revelations 2, but I am such a better player in Splatoon 2 with gyro controls (only in handheld, though). Different strokes for different folks.
I'm with everyone complaining about no motion controls. I was so excited to have RE4 on the go. But over one hundred comments and no one's refuting Damien's claim that only a SMALL portion of the Switch user base will notice? Get out of here with that nonsense.
@Stuffgamer1 @roy130390 Honestly, the fact the coins expire is ludicrous. I'm sure I'm not in the minority waiting for Switch rewards...what happens if they come AFTER my coins expire? I just miss the t-shirts, yoshi strap bags, posters, and the myriad of other awesome physical rewards of the old system. Man, I love my Switch, but the degradation of everything else they're doing (cough voice chat cough) is borderline insulting as a dedicated Nintendo fan of 30 years.
I'll reiterate what I posted on the Skyrim article:
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Super Mario Odyssey, Rocket League, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Skyrim , L.A. Noire, Doom, Resident Evil Revelation 1&2, Wolfenstein 2, Worms W.M.D., Stardew Valley - this is the list for all my day one buys. Even with the games I've played before (which is surprisingly only three from that list), it's worth it to double dip on the quality titles for the portability factor alone.
Then there's the wait and see with high probability: Battle Chasers Nightwar, Morphie's Law, Dragon Quest Builders, Nine Parchments, Rime, Lost Sphear, Octopath Traveller, Yono, Mulaka, and Travis Strikes Again. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few as well.
I guess my point is, not only is the game lineup for the Switch absolutely stellar at the moment, I can only imagine what's in the works for next year alone considering the immense 3rd party support we're beginning to see. Sure, some of these games are remakes or ports, but a lot of them aren't. With a healthy mix of great old games Nintendo fans might have missed or just want the ability to play on the go and a great lineup of original games coming by the end of the year or early next, Switch owners will have no shortage of great games to play anywhere and anyhow they want for a good while. Just my opinion π

Motion controls made the Wii version of RE4 the best by far. Granted, it made the game easier, but it was also much more immersive. If they replicate (which, I can't see how they won't be able to) the fluidity of RE4s motion controls I will be ecstatic. I've yet to play Revelations 2 but I played the original 3DS Revelations and the HD PC version and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. Now hitting those stinking Hunters won't be such a pain, lol.
Aaaaaand I'll be 32 this month. Not that it's relevant in any shape, form, or fashion, but it does give away my generational influences to a degree π
@rjejr Extremely valid points. I guess to that I give the age-old adage: Only time will tell. I never thought we'd see the upswing in video cards we've had over the past two years, but even the 1050 ti's are hard to ignore. Beautiful budget cards, that, teamed with the right hardware, can give even the most budgeted of PCs that "gaming pc" feel.
@AlexOlney "The switch is the switch?" You git. How dare you detract from a seemingly legitimate debate!! If I want my switch to be a handheld, therefore it shall be!! And, by Holcombe, if I choose for it to be a console, I shall extend my arms, gently set my system in it's provided dock, and make it so!! Who are you, Alex Olney, to define what my switch is?! Back in the bunker with you, sir. Go unbox an original NES AND make it look like it happened yesterday!!
Seriously man, I love your videos - keep up the good work! π
@rjejr Totally agree with everything you said except one thing: the "switch tax" will soon be irrelevant when the price of switch carts eventually comes down. I feel like Nintendo went with a medium which continually spirals in price and is much more viable in durability and longevity than discs.
"When talking to Murch, a playerβs current money and Super Sea Snails will now be displayed in the upper right portion of the screen."
Thank god.
Also, not sure I feel about the Splat Tee. On one hand, it encourages one to take the abilities to the max before scrubbing. But at the same time, scrubbing after 2-3 matches (with a drink buff) for only $2,000 will be sorely missed. Now you'd have to play 4 games AT LEAST and make sure you win 2. But seeing as that's consistent throughout all abilities...I have maths to perform!!
@FlashFan207 Fly like an eagle! Get ready to have fun, and best of luck to you fellow air squid! Maybe Nintendo will do another superpower themed splatfest in the future. I think super speed vs. super strength or telepathy vs. time travel could make for some interesting debates (and in-game posts, lol) π
@PanurgeJr Right on, lol. I think something akin to Harry Potter's Invisibility cloak would be a little more feasible. Unless, of course, you can turn invisible at will. Seeing as there's no set rules to either team (plus, it's just a game), I feel like there's a lot of room for speculation and interpretation of the ground rules for both powers. Best of luck this weekend, my friend!! π
@Fred13 Wow dude, if you couldn't tell my entire reply was in jest, I don't know what else to say...and where do you get there's no speed boost while flying? There are clearly no set rules to either team you pick. It's all in good fun. Also, there's no disclaimer in the game saying the team you pick applies to real life OR in game. And the part about stealing was a general statement - I don't know you and I wouldn't assume you'd be a thief - everything I said is hypothetical, as is the team one chooses. Sorry you read so deeply into me just taking the mickey out of the situation (which is why I use emojis as much as possible: to convey what text can't). Best of luck this weekend!! π
@Fred13 Invisibility in a game where there's nothing but paint being sprayed around all the time? π Plus, you have to go naked, and if you're trying to use invisibilty to steal stuff - well: "Hey, look! That insert item is just floating in the air all by itsel - wait a minute!" Just too many down sides. Now with flight there's no need for a vehicle of any type, you can fly to foreign countries (steer clear of restricted air space, lol), save kittens from trees, or that baby stuck in the top floor of the burning apartment complex. Did I mention "Superhero Landings?" Besides, look at how well being invisible worked out for Kevin Bacon; and everyone loves Kevin Bacon. Because, well, he's Kevin Frickin' Bacon. Suddenly I'm hungry π
So many surprises! Really looking forward to Nine Parchments - it looks to have a Gauntlet style gameplay/aesthetic. The return of Travis Touchdown and now Worms W. M. D. Also Morphies Law, Yono, Mulaka, and Wulverblade all have my attention as well. Then there's the ones we DID know about: Stardew Valley, Dreamworld Dig 2, Rocket League, etc. Put all these with the bigger releases coming like DBXenoverse 2, Pokken Tournament, Mario Odyssey, Fire Emblem Warriors, and Mario+Rabbids: Kingdom Battle (which is now out, obviously) - and yes, even the upcoming sports games. Ugh!! I backlog steam games, but I never thought I'd be playing that tune with switch. So glad to see Nintendo doing so well right now. Now all I ask is for MHXX localization or even an English option on the Japanese version... or maybe just a new MH Switch altogether =)
Oh, then there's Descenders and Gear.Club. Sheesh, I almost hope some games are a letdown (I say that jokingly), otherwise I'll be hiding in a cave, eating raw fish, and stroking my switch while calling it "precious" for the next few years.
Wow, what a nice surprise to wake up to! Never enjoyed the console versions of Worms too much - or too many of the iterations past Armegeddon for that matter, but the reviews on this version were pretty good, and as an added bonus, I can take it anywhere! On top of Travis Touchdown returning and all the wonderful Nindies coming soon (including the new Shovel Knight: King of Cards campaign, which us Treasure Trove adopters will receive for free), I may have to get a new switch after I wear this one out, lol!
@Boyoshi Well, first off, let me apologize for assuming you didn't read the article. Considering the information that I quoted to you is in the last two sentences of the opening paragraph which is literally only three sentences long, in an article that takes less than 30 seconds to fully read, I'm sure you can appreciate why I would jump to that conclusion. Secondly, I completely agree that the switch version of Yooka-Laylee will be the best of all the others if it's ported well and everything ironed out given the recently released patch fixes most, if not all of the games bug problems, etc. - as I truly think any version of pretty much any game would be better on the switch for the same reason - portability and versatility. But to be honest, I feel like you're kind of strawmanning me on that one because I never said anything against your statement of the switch version to begin with. Also, I understand your gripe with the original release of the game and all of its problems, but to be quite fair, you didn't say anything about level design in your original post. Lastly, I completely get your point about the "not to be rude" comment and I hate that the internet takes away the natural human ability to convey inflection in our speech, because if you really knew me and heard me say it the way it was meant to be conveyed, you would have known I seriously meant I was not being rude in any way, shape, form, or fashion. Regardless, I understand you took it offensively and I also apologize for that as well.
@Boyoshi @dew12333 From the article you're commenting on:
"Developer Playtonic Games has now given a little insight into how far along it is, saying that the "final issues" are being worked out. This news comes along a huge console patch that discards many of the games bugs that appeared at launch."
Not to sound rude but sometimes it helps to read the article you're commenting on.
@Beedrill4Smash Completely agree! I would really love some of those IPs to make it to the switch one way or another. I was just in awe at myself for forgetting Viewtiful Joe more than anything, lol. I LOVED those games.
@NF6429 @Galenmereth As ignorant and uninformed as his comment may seem, I really do think the guy was just trying to be funny. Sort of like when I tell my child to finish their food because there are starving kids in Africa. I think he was just making a point that, as a human race, we have bigger issues at hand than this type of situation. If I'm wrong and the guy is just being ridiculous, then I agree with you both.
Just not feeling it; the design is ugly and it looks cumbersome to hold. Also, even if it's cheaper than the actual pro controller I would still pay the extra to get that Nintendo quality.
@MarioPhD Those numbers don't refer to damage. They represent the amount of turf required for one to cover before their special is activated. So, in reality, the dualies got a small buff.
I walked into my local gamestop (Kansas City, MO) yesterday to pick up my copy of Splatoon 2 and there was a sign on the door that read "Nintendo Switch in stock." I was curious, so I asked the associate about it. Her response was "Yes, we have a lot, unfortunately." I was taken aback by two things - one, she informed me there were a lot of stock, but second, that she said "unfortunately." What did she even mean by that?
Side note: Never got to play Splatoon on the Wii U and am thoroughly enjoying part 2.

Switch owners have a new game every month this year so far, including Xenoblade, which some thought would be delayed. The only thing I didn't get out of the spotlight that I really wanted was the announcement for Monster Hunter XX localization and vc/netflix/web browser - which I'm fine waiting for both given what's in the pipeline, as long as they eventually come.
After they announced the core Pokemon coming I was already on the edge of my seat. Then I saw that logo and heard that music...seriously, after that they could just filled the rest of the presentation monkeys flinging poo at one another and I would have been fine with that, lol.
