Re: Opinion: Nintendo, Let Us Buy The Games Being Delisted From Switch Online

Vegeta937

@nocdaes Completely agree. I was born in 1985, so I grew up with all the classics, etc. When I was young, I had all the time in the world to experience games on a daily basis. Plus, there weren't near as many releases in a year as there are today, so the idea of a backlog was pretty superfluous. As an adult, I get to play games maybe once or twice a week. While I am all about game preservation, some people act like it's one of the seven deadly sins to not have access to any game they want constantly. Even the younger generation doesn't have enough time (or money) to invest in the amount of video games being released on a daily basis. I feel like most people get upset at not having access to certain games, when they don't even realistically have enough time to play them. Some of it's just a nostalgia factor, and some of it is FOMO. Obviously just my opinion, but one I definitely stand by.

@sanderev

As @Yalloo has already stated, it's down to the adults/parents to police their children. I mean no offense whatsoever, but it seems like you're trying to blame the company instead of accepting personal responsibility. Just because a product is offered doesn't mean the consumer has to consume.

Re: Metroid Prime Remastered Physical Version Out Now (US), Will You Be Getting It?

Vegeta937

Pre-ordered my copy at my local Gamestop but when I went to pick it up yesterday, they had sold all their copies early "by accident." I was able to get my money back (2-3 business day wait on my card) and went next door and picked up a copy at Wal-Mart. I was frustrated, but the girl behind the counter was genuinely distraught she didn't have copies left, and her other employees' actions aren't her fault. So, I just told her I was sorry she had to inform other customers that might not be so understanding. First world problems and all that.

Re: Splatoon 3 To Receive New Update This Week, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Vegeta937

@Sequel When Nintendo revealed the first look for this with the inkling traversing the terrain I thought the same thing. Maybe not an RPG like Zelda per se, but definitely more of an open-world campaign. I agree I think it would be awesome having a wacky open-world akin to the aesthetic of that new movie, Strange World. The developers could go wild coming up with ways to use the ink gun, etc. to traverse the terrain

If no one else else backs you, man...I do lol

Re: Nintendo Direct For Splatoon 3 Confirmed For This Week

Vegeta937

I'm with you, Ollie, on that last statement. I hadn't gotten to try Splatoon until the sequel and while I absolutely loved it (probably put 200-300 hours in), this new game looks it could have been an update in the vein on the MK8 Deluxe DLC waves. The very first trailer they teased almost had me thinking there was going to be an open-world type of situation. I would have been happy with that. Either way, so far this new one hasn't shown anything that would make me want to dive back in. Which is fine. If it's not for me, then oh well. There's a gazillion other games to play.

Re: Nintendo Wants To Know What Switch "Groups" You've Created Since The Latest Firmware Update

Vegeta937

Well, I created two. Then I realized you can't access them from the home screen, forcing me to go into my library before I can even pull them up. Plus, it doesn't allow you to unclutter your library by actually moving icons for games. They're still right there in your face, which makes it hard to remember what games you've already put where. Just all around pretty pointless. I mean, I see the use for some and it does help a little in the long run. But, "meh." 🤷‍♂️

Re: Nintendo's Stock Price Sees Biggest Fall In Two Years Following Earnings Report

Vegeta937

@Friendly You're not wrong there. I have faithfully followed Nintendo my 35 years on this earth. Share a birthday with Mario, played NES since I was 5. I probably still have intact almost every issue of Nintendo Power. But, sometimes you just have to walk away for a minute. This is my minute. I know I'll be back and I have no shame in that. We all fall in and out of love with things in life.

Re: Nintendo's Stock Price Sees Biggest Fall In Two Years Following Earnings Report

Vegeta937

@Bunkerneath This guy gets it. Personally, I gave my Switch to my son after the OLED announcement. I had to walk away from Nintendo for a bit. And no; I don't feel like I was owed anything as a consumer. What I wanted and what I didn't get is my own problem, but doesn't mean I have to agree with the direction Nintendo is going. Obviously I'm still here keeping up with the gaming news. But, yeah. I'm done with them as a company for a bit.

Re: Rumour Buster: Has GameStop Just Revealed The 'New Nintendo Switch'? Probably Not

Vegeta937

Not gonna lie. I have a day one Switch and when the "Pro," or whatever it might end up being called didn't get revealed, I decided to take advantage of this promotion. As a moral practice, I generally don't even mess with Gamestop because they're a crap company. But this was a good deal.

So I took my Switch in and the employee was about to factory reset the system after thoroughly checking it. Then, the "drift" happened. "I'm sorry, sir but your system seems to be detective."
"Nah, man. That's just the joy con drift."
"Yes, I know."
"Then you understand it's just a thing, not a defect."
"I'm sorry, sir. But I have to mark this system as defective. I can only offer you $125 credit."
"You realize replacing the joy cons costs less than what you just removed from my credit, right?"
"I'm sorry, sir."
"You also realize the brand new system I WAS about to purchase from you will 100% guaranteed eventually get joy con drift, and is therefore defective out of the box, right?"
"I'm sorry, sir."

Can't decide which company I should hate more. At least "piece of s$%*" became with synonymous with Gamestop a long, long time ago. Nintendo I at least try to see the silver lining in. But man, I'm frustrated.
