The Direct was great. Lots of games to look forward to. The pacing was ok too, not the mess that the Digital Event was.

@rjejr Z will definitely be revealed soon. I'd say before February. I don't know about your holidays release guess though, I think it will come sooner, but who knows.

Masuda tweeted a link to the japanese Direct. It's unlikely that it was because of Super Mystery Dungeon, that game has been out in Japan for months. Fingers crossed for a Z reveal, or at least some Pokkén update. But I'm keeping the hype under control for those. What I do seriously want is Smash news! All aboard! Choo choo!

It's finally happening! All I want is the result of the Smash Ballot and Star Fox Zero's release date, all with cool trailers!

@KTT I'm pretty sure it's possible to transfer Pokémon from BW directly to 6th gen. B2W2 is not needed.

On a side note, I've never played the Game Cube games, had forgotten about the Shadow Pokémon. Nice to see that Mewtwo in Pokkén being, maybe, a little reference.

I don't see the closing line (just) as a highlight to the 3DS. To me, it looks more like slipping Wii U to the sides.

They didn't even have the decency of making a new trailer. Just slapped Mewtwo at the end of the announcement we've got months ago. C'mon!!

Those claims are untrue. But I hope the game does well in the west. I enjoyed the demo. The combat is somewhat confusing in the beginning, and the mini-game stuff is kinda dull, but it's fun. Definitely not Pokémon fun, but Gamefreak can learn a trick or two from level 5.

NX will need a strong and diverse launch lineup, and not just made of ports from existing games. How about a true amiibo focused game at launch? A good Pokémon game, not a childish spin off like Rumble U? A dazzling 3D Mario? SM3DW was great, but too safe. Put in the mix one or two more high quality games, a couple of remasters, a not so distant Mario Kart release and it's pretty solid.

I hope NX is at least as powerful as PS4, regardless of what concept it is. Nintendo can still jump in the 3rd party bandwagon, but everything has to be right this time.
Make a decent and competitive online infrastructure. This is so important!

I hope Nintendo manages to become relevant again not just as a fan, but for the industry as a whole. It's really sad how it's often left out of the conversation between gamers and media, even worse among non gamers.

At this point, all I want is some news, any news. New Pokémon announcement, Smash DLC, the rumoured eshop leaks... This long silence is killing me!

I'm kinda glad it's been delayed. I'm getting a PS4 this holiday and there are a lot games to play. Star Fox will be welcomed after I'm done catching up.

I love NSMBU, play it every once in a while. Such a great game.

After Mario Maker the 2D games will have to be reinvented somehow. Change the mechanics, but specifically the art style. I've got nothing against the New look, they can make another 2.5D if they want it, as long as it feels fresh. Surprise me, Nintendo!

It happened to me too. The first game I've ever played is Super Mario World. So, when I eventually played Super Mario Bros, SMB2 (Doki Doki) and SMB3, all of them felt boring in comparison. "Where's Yoshi?! The flying cape?! Where did they hide the colors?". I did grew fond of'em all eventually, but Super Mario World is always gonna be my number 1.

@hillyarb Well, there is a Pokémon TCG app on iOS already. Also, The Pokémon Company operates in a fairly independent way, and is very protective. Like in Yoshi's Wooly World (and others) where the only amiibo not compatible are Pokémon. So don't expect Nintendo marketing mobile Pokémon games as their own, otherwise they'd already call Shuffle their "first mobile game".

@gatorboi352 That's precisely what they need. The visuals and performance must be competitive enough, otherwise this parity will fade. If only they could deliver on this, the next home console will take care of itself.

I don't think the Skyscraper stage has anything to do with the new mode or the update. This trailer for Splatfest has been on for a long time. Plus, it wouldn't make sense to release this stage before the totem/lake stage (forgot the name), since it was already revealed at the Direct and has somewhat of a presence in October Valley. The skyscraper stage should be the last one.

@ricklongo @Rect_Pola It is actually on disc, otherwise people wouldn't be able to data mine it (right?). Also, I don't really leave my Wii U on sleep mode, and get the weapons and stages as soon as quick-opening the game, so that background download would have to be super fast xD
Besides, the idea of the digital download having this content cut is just weird, mine is digital btw.

@FragRed You've got a point. But VC's lack of games on Wii U is also (mainly, to be honest) from their own games. Look at how they basically just started putting N64 games. I've wanted to play F-Zero X (GX is just a dream by now) on the game pad for a long time, and I can't! Don't know much about sales, but I guess Nintendo VC games usually sell good enough to return the costs, right? All in all, I'm just disappointed.

They should put all the VC games available at launch for NX. Nes, Snes, N64, GAME CUBE, even Wii. VC on Wii U has been ridiculous, it's like they don't want our money. Also, not paying a fourth time for Super Mario World would be great, thanks.
Also, I hope there is backwards compatibility, but a strong one. Like, making as much Wii U eshop games available on NX, at least all the first party games are a need. The game pad support could be troublesome though...
As for the 3DS, there's at least one big hit coming to it, aside from already announced games. The final game(s) of Pokémon's 6th gen will be on the 3DS. Heck, maybe even 7th gen will be on 3DS. Wii U is the real problem here.

Gosh, waiting for the end of the enemy's turn was really boring in the demo. I hoped the final game wouldn't be like this. There were times I got so bored that dropped the 3DS for a minute to check on my phone. This one's going to the 'Maybe someday' list.

And LOL, calling Assassination Classroom erotic is certainly absurd, but "book for young adults" doesn't help either. It's just a manga from Weekly Shonen Jump, like Naruto, Bleach, One Piece,etc.

@Quorthon I aggree with everything you said. Regarding the 3DS, my guess is that we'll see another Pokémon game by the end of the year. I was thinking that Game Freak would take a longer break, but looking at the non-existent line up of 3DS retail games, it looks like trainers will be catching'em all again in october~november.

You're welcome! They all look so funny! I guess a western release is even more possible now with amiibo support. But I guess it would take some time, since there's no date for the New 3DS (or the NFC thing for the normal 3DSs) in Europe and the Americas.

I just loved my N64! Mario Kart 64 was my first MK game, I played it non-stop with my brother and friends. Se would also always fight over who had more stars in Mario 64. So many good memories. Cruis'n World made us feel like we were playing at an arcade at the mall. Star Fox, F-Zero, Zelda... I love the N64 library.

Too risky. I guess It's not the time to even be considering this. Nintendo is starting to regain ground now after last year's failure. But maybe someday... But things could start slower than the article suggests. There's already a potential Mii related app in development, and it's about time Miiverse gets its too. An app like PlayStation's doesn't require a "Nintendo Phone" to exist. Try those things first. Enter properly in the smartphone world, and maybe someday having a dedicated Nintendo Phone might be a considerable idea.

I've played the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games and loved'em all! I'm curious to play one that is not Pokémon, bring it on!

Joining the discussion... I feel like they'll take a brake next year. Or maybe they'all just give us 'Z' (or whatever it's supposed to be). Don't think a new gen will start without another gen 6 game... And the 3DS is getting kinda old. A new hardware should be announced at E3 2016, or even next year... So many possibilities! Let's see what's gonna come.

For everyone wondering whether you should start with XY or ORAS... Me personal recommendation is ORAS! It's a much more enjoyable game overall.

Pikachu is so cute! And I want the one with Slowpoke's reggae so bad xD Fingers crossed for a western release!
