Re: Nintendo Is Making Female Characters Cover Up For The Western Version Of Xenoblade Chronicles X

TsukiDeity

@Ralek85 @Kirby_Fan_DL3 It's rated Cero C in Japan that's 15 and up. It will surely be T for T in NA. So if you think about it, 15yo boys might want to see 13yo girls in bikinis. Personally I don't care so much about her character, but they shouldn't censor the adult female characters in this game. Elma is 29yo, there is really no reason to censor any of the developers intended content for them. As long as they keep Elma's skin-tight alien suite, I'll be happy, that thing is so badass!

Re: Reaction: Nintendo's First Mobile App, Miitomo, Targets the Lucrative Depths of the Blue Ocean

TsukiDeity

I understand what the app is for, but I just don't see how it will do a big dent in the Japanese market, every one here uses LINE to communicate with friends/co-workers/family/etc. There are 54m users in Japan (stats from 1 year ago), with a population of 126m. Old people usually don't have smartphones or use communication apps and kids often don't have smartphones yet. So the bulk of Japanese adolescents and adults use LINE. Miitomo is essentially competing with LINE and I don't know how it's going to convince people to use both LINE and Miitomo or to go Miitomo only. Nintendo certainly has a tough battle ahead of itself. Who knows what will happen.

Re: Nintendo's New Membership Service Is Called "Nintendo Account"

TsukiDeity

@Raichu @TheMonadoSenpai It may sounds strange but it makes perfect sense for it's Japanese title. It's probably going to be called MiiFriend(s) (space? no space?) in English. In this case Tomo is short for Tomodachi which means friend. It seems more let a communication app such as LINE but maybe your mii does 50% of the talking? There's too little information on it to really know what it is.

Re: Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer and Super Mario Maker Maintain Decent UK Sales

TsukiDeity

@HopeNForever, I'd love for that to happen, but I doubt it. The GCN sold an average of 4.3m consoles per year, The Wii U is currently sitting at 10.3m ish, Nov 18th will mark 3 years and if I give it an other positive 200k that will be 10.5m (remember that's before black friday) giving an average of 3.5m per year. If Nintendo gives it 5 years before the NX comes out that will be 17.5m total. They are forecasting 3.4m for the 2015 fiscal year which in lower than the actual average to far.
I wish the Wii U would turn it's fortunes around as I love the console, but it's poised to sell less. Plus with the lack of games and third party games for next year (at least so far), it's not going to help. I think it's simply too late.

Something "could" happen, but it won't Nintendo has certainly moved most of their resources over to the NX. I won't even be surprised if Zelda Wii U gets a duel release just like TP.

Re: Voice Actors Union Authorises Strike Action With Landslide 96.52 Percent Vote

TsukiDeity

@XCWarrior It's good to know you are being sarcastic, but the thing about sarcasm in the written form is that it's not as easy to interpret unless a person is familiar with the writer. There is no voice afterall. haha Plus, the internet is full of people who actually believe in all sorts of silly things that are not true. Making it difficult to differentiate the ignorant from sarcastic people and/or trolls.
I've always wondered what a grunt (and other throat related sounds) only voice acting gig would pay like. I can't imagine Nintendo would allow just about anyone to do it as they are quite picky with everything they do. I doubt it pays peanuts either.

Re: PS4 and Sony Enjoy Dominant Week in Japan With Price Cut and New Releases

TsukiDeity

@electrolite77 @Monado_III, the Wii U has been out for almost 3 full years now, they were making a profit off the system from the start, then they had a 50$ price drop, because no one bought it (just think how much more poorly this system would have sold if it had retained it's original price point...) I'm sure if they drop the price by an other 50$ (maybe even 100$) they would still be making a profit off every system, just not as much as now (the tech has to be much cheaper to make now). What would happen with a new price drop, is that it would get more late adopters that would pick up Nintendo's awesome (but small) library of games which would more than make up for the price drop. I don't know if they will benefit so much from a price drop in Japan, but they would certainly benefit from it in NA. There are a lot of people out there that would love to play SM3DW, DKTF, MK8, SSB, Bayonetta, etc but just aren't willing to pluck down 300+ on a dying (or dead) console.
I bought my Wii U near launch so it won't affect me, but the price drop would only benefit them. I think is they simply don't have any faith in the Wii U, so they just aren't bothering with it.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo and DeNA Will Be Revealing the First Smart Device Software Soon

TsukiDeity

@IceClimbers How is AC unexpected? Granted I think it will still be a Mario game just an "unexpected Mario game". But as expected games go, AC is an expected franchise to hit mobile (maybe the first? who knows) as Nintendo usually makes games with taking the Japanese market into account first and foremost. ACNL is the 6th best selling game worldwide on the 3DS with 9.17m, 1st=Pokemon X/Y, 2nd=MK7, 3rd=Pokemon OR/AS, 4th=SM3DL, 5th=NSMB2.
According to vgchatz, ACNL is the 2nd best selling 3DS game in Japan. I wouldn't be surprised if 50% of all ACNL sales are from Japan alone, that in itself means it's expected to hit mobile.
Pokemon is out of the question as the pokemon company is handling all things pokemon, that leaves the Mario franchise as top dog, with AC in 2nd.
Of course we'll just have to wait and see what first game will be and then what the next 4 games will be.
I'd love to see a non-mario game as the first initiative (as it would prove that they don't always rely on Mario), but it's their most well known franchise with the best chance of penetration in the worldwide market.

http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/sales/software/3ds.html
I really wish Nintendo would show the entire list of games that sold 1m and more. It would be so nice to see which games made it, same for Wii U games. Too much work?..... rolls eyes haha

Re: Rumour: Nintendo and DeNA Will Be Revealing the First Smart Device Software Soon

TsukiDeity

@LinkSword @aaronsullivan technically we were never warned that these games would utilize major IP, they simply said ANY IP is free game. But I'd be surprised if these games aren't related to Mario, Zelda, DK or AC (maybe even Splatoon since it's still hot), as these are Nintendo's more popular/well known IPs. Yes I even said Zelda, Zelda may not be a "sales juggernaut as you say LinkSword, but the IP is very well known (there are millions of xbox and PS fans that like Zelda but they just don't want to buy Nintendo home/handheld consoles, a mobile game could be the persuasion they need to come back to Zelda). Their first game will most likely be a major IP to kick-start Nintendo's mobile initiative, to get them known in the mobile space, after the first game and Nintendo is seen as a big hit, I could see smaller games like wario ware, yoshi, kirby, etc show up on mobile (they'll probably still rely on more major IPs). Only time will tell of course.
Pokemon is out of the question as I'm sure the Pokemon Company International will refuse, plus they are already making mobile games, do we really need more pokemon? I'd love for them to dig up old IPs with this, but the major IPs will have the best chance of penetration in that silly market.

Re: Nintendo Attempts to Show the Fun Side of Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival as amiibo Bundles Are Confirmed

TsukiDeity

@TheHunter There's no confirmation as of yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if they acted just like their respected amiibo card form. Ex. Tom Nook figure and/or Tom Nook amiibo card both allow you to create Tom Nooks home in HHD. But they could always throw us a curve ball and make exclusive items that only come with the amiibo festival figures (which would be bull in my opinion). I think the former will be the game with this figures.

Re: Talking Point: Why Does Investor Confidence in Nintendo Continue to Dip Under Tatsumi Kimishima?

TsukiDeity

@DarthNocturnal @Henmii They can't simply "ditch" DeNA.... Nintendo now owns 10% of DeNA, they are investing in the company, even if Nintendo decided to sell the 10%, just to get rid of them, they'll still having dealings with DeNA as DeNA owns 1% of Nintendo. DeNA would be stupid to sell it's 1%. Whether you like it or not, this is a long-term deal.
As long as their mobile games don't distract from making console and handheld games, I'm fine with it, it will simply allow Nintendo to put more money into developing their games.

Re: Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon Tops Japanese Charts as Wii U Beats PS4

TsukiDeity

@Spoony_Tech there are only 2.5m Wii U's in Japan, making SMM have an 8% ratio, it's not great, but it's not terrible, and it will continue to grow as this game will have long legs.
Wii U games are simply not selling well at all. Heck my father-in-law has a Wii U but he only has 1 game, Dragon Quest X, that's all he cares about. He likes mario and he'd like to buy SMM, but he's busy playing DQX, that game never ends, so I won''t be surprised if he never buys an other Wii U game. It's an MMO afterall.
But you can't seriously compare SMM, a Wii U title, to Pokemon, AC and MH, which are 3DS titles. The 3DS install base in Japan is over 16m vs. Wii U's 2.5m There's no comparison. Using vgchatz numbers (I know it's not super accurate but it's better than nothing) MH4G (ultimate) sold 2.56m, SM3DL sold 2.07m, NSMB2 sold 2.37m, ACNL sold 4.11m, Pokemon X/Y sold 4.3m, OR/AS sold 2.83m. As you can clearly see MH, AC and Pokemon are NOT selling 10 times more than Mario titles. Heck if you are comparing MH3G (ultimate) on Wii U it only sold 0.22m where as NSMBU sold 1.24 (the current best selling Wii U title in Japan) and SM3DW sold 0.65 (4th best selling Wii U game in Japan). Again these numbered aren't the most accurate but it gives you food for thought.

Mario Kart 8 sold 326k on launch week, it's higher of course, but it's not that great for a Mario Kart game, Mario Karts always sells way more copies than Super Mario games. If Splatoon, Nintendo's HOTTEST Wii U IP in Japan only sold 145k it's first week. SMM launch week was 150k (when including the Wii U bundles). So the sales really aren't that bad.
Would this game have sold better on 3DS, hell yes, Japan is mobile centric and home console gaming isn't very strong here.

Re: Review: Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (3DS)

TsukiDeity

@Kaze_Memaryu You know it's called a spin-off and not a mainline AC game, this isn't supposed to be New Leaf 2.0. We only ever get 1 mainline AC game per console, so if you want an AC game that allows you the freedom of all that AC stuff that you crave, you should still be playing ACNL. Spin-offs are supposed to be different, they try something new with the source material or alter/change a key part, helping to broaden the audience, not everyone has the time for "real time" gaming, this "spirit" as you call it isn't for everyone. After having put about 80 hours into this game, it truly has the animal crossing "spirit" it just lacks the rest of ACNL. Just look at the AC track in Mario Kart 8, it doesn't allow you to do anything but race, but that track really catches the "spirit" of animal crossing. The "spirit" of AC is not in it's freedom of play, but in it's structure, world, colours, attitude, dialog, movement, expressions, everything. This is an animal crossing game, it's just not more of the same. It's a specialized version of one large component in the larger scheme of AC.
As you said, this spin-off could easily be part of a true mainline AC game in the future, and I'm sure it will, this spin-off allowed the team to augment one of it's best component for the better, After owning this game, I will be quite disappointed is this doesn't get featured in the next mainline AC game as it really should be in the next one. This game is as much an AC game as any Mario Kart/Sports is a Mario game. They aren't mainline games, but they are part of the "spirit" of the Super Mario franchise.
I ask you this, what is a true animal crossing spin-off for you? If it's just ACNL 2.0 with HHD in it, than it's not a spin-off.
Also, have you even played this game yet, or are you just listening to reviews of the game? Remember reviews are opinions.

Mind you I still think amiibo festival is going to be a very lackluster game, but it's probably going to have some of that AC spirit in it. The AC development team is very passionate about this franchise, they aren't going to create a game in the franchise without a "soul". It's just not going to be for everyone.

On a side note, I do find it weird that Nintendo didn't give us our own house to build.

Re: Review: Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (3DS)

TsukiDeity

@Kaze_Memaryu @Spectra_Twilight I disagree with you Kaze, I've put in about 100 hours into this game, and it certainly has the animal crossing CHARM that I love, it just lacks the freedom of wondering, fishing, bug-catching, etc. This game takes 1 LARGE aspect of the AC series (since the N64 version (japan -only) and that many people loved) and fleshes it out. I rather enjoy having access to a plethora of furniture and clothes to build my homes. I hated the heavy restriction of item collecting in AC. There may be a piece of furniture you want but you may never get it even after 400 hour of play time. That's BS to be honest. Sure this game isn't for everyone and might not be for you, but the charm is still there. All that quirky dialog, funny characters and ease of use makes this an animal crossing game but not a main line game.
The game is NOT restrictive within it's interior designing (sure you can't draw out your own floor plan/blueprints or anything), each villager requests usually have 1-3 items they want included inside OR outside of the house (doesn't matter where you put it), but that's it, you are free to do anything, the items they give you is essentially an idea or theme to help you create a home.. Afterwards you can rebuild them a new home or even redecorate for them even getting ride of the items they initially wanted, they don't care.
Plus with the ability to build 400+ homes, the ability to upgrade said homes multiple times (allowing you a maximum of 3 rooms per house), 83 home locations with 4 seasons each, with the ability to use tiles/rugs gives many hours of playtime and creative freedom.
My only beef with the game is that I would have liked to see the HHA point system be an option in the game for those who want more of a challenge.

Re: Fresh Nintendo Patent Shows Handheld Device With "Outward-Facing Linear Image Sensors"

TsukiDeity

@Captain_Gonru I don't have any link to give you, as I'm sure it's buried somewhere in the internet. But when they had first revealed Amiibo, they not only revealed it to be a platform, but a long-term platform. Stating that it would work with Wii U, 3DS and any future hardware. How far that goes into the future is anyone's guess, but at the very least it will work with the next console/handheld (NX basically). Whether or not ALL of the current amiibo will be functional with the NX is an unknown, but you can bet that Mario and gang, Zelda franchise and few others will certainly be usable. Maybe with the success of Mario Maker, we'll see Nintendo make future games that allow us to use 8-bit versions of all our amiibo (8-bit is certainly faster/easier/cheaper to make for them that 3D models), sure it's not much, but it does give the buyer more reason to be content with his/her purchase of WFT etc.

Re: Hive Jump Is Bringing Multiplayer Run 'n' Gun Blasting To Wii U, As Well As amiibo Support

TsukiDeity

@buildz This is technically the third 3rd party game to take advantage of amiibo (well that I know of) and the first 3rd party indie game to do so.
Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy+ and One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X both used them, the former had unlockable skins for the jets, while the latter gave you costumes for the fighters.
AC:AHL+ launched along side the New 3DS and Zelda: MM in the US, not sure if one piece come to the west or not.

Here's the one piece video if your interested in it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=66&v=F2CGAN90G4E

Re: Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer and amiibo Festival Bundle Details Emerge

TsukiDeity

@jedikitty Only the game in physical form will come with 1 amiibo card, so if you buy the NFC combo pack, you will get the physical game, 1 special card and the NFC reader/writer.
The special card is random, you'll get 1 random card from 17 special cards available in the first series. The European and North American sets are identical to the Japanese sets, the only difference is that in NA the amiibo card booster packs come with 6 cards for 5.99$ instead of 3 cards for 2.99. I already had a New 3DS so I just bought the Japanese physical game, and I got Tom Nook as my special card.

Re: Luigi Diorama and Legend of Zelda Carry Case Return to Club Nintendo

TsukiDeity

Man.... I was sorely disappointing with NA's Club Nintendo, but that Luigi's Diorama, just pisses me off! The Diorama was originally 1200 coins in NA and it sold out within a couple days before I even saw it, so I never even had the chance to get one. So when the club was shutting down, I held on to my coins in hope that the diorama would come back and nope.... NA gave us a few physical rewards and a ton of digital games at the beginning and then it was crickets until it closed down. I know some people are happy with digital games, but If I was interested in any of them in the first place, I would have bought them already... I wanted Nintendo memorabilia and not games that I don't physically have....

sigh I'll never get my hands on that oh so lovely Luigi's Mansion diorama sigh

Re: 3DS Homebrew Hacker Turns to YouTube App As Latest Workaround for 'Tubehax'

TsukiDeity

@Monado_III
Personally I think that Nintendo should make region-free systems. You said that if the Wii U was region free, you would be playing XCX right now. Now my question for you is would you buy the translated version or would you not support it? I'm all for region free so that people can import japan exclusive games, games so Japanese that they will never see the day of light in the west. BUT I personally don't support the idea of making a system region free just so people can import Japanese games earlier and not bother to support the translated versions. When a game like XCX is announced for the west from the beginning, I personally think fans of these genres should wait OR purchase both versions, because if large numbers of people (for a niche game) import only and never support the translated version, NoA and NoE will never bring these games over to the west, because their is no money in that. My belief is that fans should buy the western release IF there is one and not import it, to show Nintendo that these niche games have a dedicated fan base that will buy it if it's brought over.
It's niche titles that need the support in the west, if they don't get it, they won't come. Popular games don't really matter.

Re: Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Leads as Splatoon Passes Half a Million Sales in Japan

TsukiDeity

@Artwark What are you talking about? FE Fates is selling better than FE Awakening did in Japan. FEA total sales as of December 2014 was 1.79m copies. Awakening never sold 1m in japan. Fates is closing in on the 0.5m mark, so this game is on track to beat out Awakening in Japan. This game will hit a million once it's released globally though.
You need to remember Fire Emblem is a niche franchise, but maybe awakening changed that, who knows. This game is going to outsell both the global releases of the Wii and GCN versions shortly (in japan alone).
Also in under about a year's time in Japan, Awakening sold roughly 455,000 copies. Fates is sitting at roughly 456,000 copies right now (that's for just a month and a half of sales)

Nintendo of Europe is certainly doing there fans a service.... I had so many coins for NoA's CN and I sat there waiting and waiting to see if NoA would add something worth while later on.... Nope... i had to waste all my coins on virtual console games I didn't really want, because if I wanted it before I had already purchased it long ago... sigh

There was just so much awesome PHYSICAL items you guys got, props to you guys, sucks balls for us... I hope this new reward program Nintendo is making will still have physical items. I want awesome Nintendo memorabilia not digital games that I'll never physically own...

Re: Talking Point: Wii U Gamers Have Been Treated Poorly By The Third-Party Retail Scene, But The System Still Brings Joy

TsukiDeity

@Genesaur @Tsurii
Genesaur that is completely inaccurate. Nintendo owns 96% of Monolith Soft, where the other 4% is, I have no idea. That makes them a first party studio. A couple years have Nintendo snatch them up, Nintendo opened up a second Monolith Soft studio in Kyoto (the other is in Tokyo).
As Tsurii said, they are part of Nintendo just like Retro Studios and Intelligent Systems.

Re: Yoshi's Woolly World Has Limited Impact in Japan as Yo-Kai Watch Busters Dominates

TsukiDeity

@MightyKrypto It has nothing to do with Microsoft being an "american" company, it's ignorant to think that way. Japanese are very open to other nation's products, BUT the Japanese tend to prefer Japanese made products over anything else. Apple, Disney, McDonalds, Windows (which is Microsoft) and Fashion (there are so many popular non-Japanese brands here) are great examples of american (and others) companies making it big in Japan. I'd even argue that Disney is bigger in Japan then it is in the US. 1) Japanese people tend to like Japanese products first (microsoft being the only one of the three to not be), 2) they like small sleek products. When the original xbox launched in Japan, it was a giant block that had to sit horizontally! Japanese homes are small, and aren't very spacious, therefore the original xbox was too big and cumbersome to fit under the TV with the VCR/DVD player and any other TV related stuff they had. The other big thing is that Japanese players prefer Japanese tailored games, they know Nintendo and Sony both have those games, Xbox had some in the long run, but it didn't help since most people had dismissed it due to the lack of japanese games at launch. Microsoft thought they could win Japan with western games only, which they obviously didn't. Playing catch up (by making Japanese games) doesn't always work, and since then the xbox brand has been struggling in Japan. Xbox is now seen by the Japanese audience as a western games only system, and Microsoft may or may not ever remove that stigma. Tsutaya (one of the largest game/rental stores in japan) has a decent size area dedicated to xbox games, bigger than I think it should have in my opinion. I personally don't know a single Japanese person who owns one (I live in Hiroshima). Everyone has a Sony or Nintendo product.

Re: Don't Worry, Samus Will Be In Metroid Prime: Federation Force

TsukiDeity

@locky-mavo, you aren't alone, I'm looking forward to this game. It's different but it's gives a bit more life and depth to the Metroid universe. I would love for Samus' cameo to be for her to come in and destroy everything for us, since you know she's badass, and we are just elite Federation troopers. That would be awesome!

Re: Don't Worry, Samus Will Be In Metroid Prime: Federation Force

TsukiDeity

@Taikasieni, This is nothing like those Zelda CD-i games, nor will it ever be. Just because Nintendo didn't give you what you wanted, doesn't mean this game is on par with those CD-i games. This game will be decent to great. NLG has a proven track record and Nintendo is helping out with it, so it CAN'T be atrociously bad.
Those CD-i games are simply atrocious, terrible cutscenes, terrible voice acting, terrible graphics, terrible artwork, terrible platforming, terrible gameplay mechanics, terrible story. Just go watch the Wand of Camelon videos or Faces of Evil, or Zelda's Adventure. Nintendo has zero input into those games, and it shows, they are absolute trash.
Federation Force will play well, and be an entertaining game, but just not be what you want.

Re: Video: Nintendo Begins Promotion Of Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer In Japan With Two New Commercials

TsukiDeity

@IceClimbers Yes, Wave 1 comes out on July 30th (launch day) and consists of 100 cards. Each pack cost 300yen and will have 3 RANDOM cards in it. Wave 2 comes out September 10th and again consists of 100 cards. AGAIN each pack cost 300yen and will have 3 random cards in it.
This is obviously all for Japan, but I'm sure it will be the same outside Japan.

I was hoping Nintendo would avoid doing blind packs, or if they did, the following waves would be smaller, making it easier to find the animals you want. Now in theory you could buy 5 packs and get the same character you dislike 5 times....

Re: Nintendo President Satoru Iwata Passes Away Aged 55

TsukiDeity

I always loved his mantality towards speaking to western territories. The man doesn't actually speak English, or very well at all, but he was always determined to go to E3 and speak to the audience in English, same with the directs. I remember reading in an article a long time ago where Nintendo had mentioned that Iwata-san had re-written he E3 script multiple times and was working really hard to memorize it.
He was so passionate about games and gamers as a whole that he wanted to speak to western gamers directly (at these events) and not rely on a translator. Getting a translator would have been WAY easier for him, but no he chose the more difficult path, speaking in English.

He will be missed, a little part of my heart broke when I saw this news, but I hope that whether his with his shinto gods or with Buddha and the gang, that he is now happy and at peace. My condolences go out with his family, friends and the company as a whole.

Re: Animal Crossing Director Talks More About Happy Home Designer and amiibo

TsukiDeity

@Captain_Gonru
In Japan, there are several items/ bundles. 1) Just the retail game 2) Retail game and amiibo Reader/Writer 3) New 3DS XL with amiibo cards and digital copy 4) amiibo Reader/Writer seperately 5) amiibo cards seperately. The cards don't come with the basic retail game.

Very true, I know Nintendo will roll them out with popular characters and not so popular ones so that they don't use up all the popular ones. I'm sure they'll even keep non-villager characters for later packs such as Kicks from the shoe store, etc. This is going to make them a TON of money and they know it, so I'm sure they've seriously considered their strategy. They could easily make coloured 10 card set packs (in waves with each colour pack having only new characters) so that everyone could get all the villagers they want, but blind packs will make them way more money. Imagine you buy 5 packs and end up with a double of a character you hate... It could happen.

Re: Animal Crossing Director Talks More About Happy Home Designer and amiibo

TsukiDeity

@DarthNocturnal Good luck with that, there were 333 villager characters in AC New Leaf (not counting tom nook and the other non-villagers), the blind packs come with a set of 3 random cards for 300yen (about 2.50$)... The likely hood of finding your favorite characters are slim. In a perfect word you'd pay 277.50US$ for all 333 villager characters if every blind pack was a set of new characters.... But we all know that the first batch is up to a 100, so you may buy them in hope to get favorite character, yet s/he in the 2nd or 3rd (or 4th? 5th? 6th?) waves, and everyone will end up with doubles, triples, etc of the same characters... I'm dreading the idea of finding my Drago....
Unless this explodes into a trading card type of thing, we may see game stores re-selling used single character cards, but that means you'll be paying more than the normal price for individual cards.

I just hope Nintendo doesn't decide to take the more popular character and make them rare cards just to sell more amiibo cards. There are tier lists out there showing the popularity of every character, and I'm sure Nintendo is well aware of which characters are more popular among fans...

I just want to easily find my Beau, Erik, Skye, Drago, Del, Angus, Maple, Lionel, and several cats. I know this will not be easy nor cheap.... sigh

Re: Pokémon Jukebox Arrives For Free on Android Devices in the West

TsukiDeity

@BLPs Okay this is how it works.

  • Nintendo owns about 1/3 of the Pokemon brand
  • GameFreak owns about 1/3 or it
  • Creatures Inc. owns less than 1/3
  • The Pokemon Company has some too but Nintendo is there parent company.
  • there is a small 2% or something owned by some other company (maybe the anime/manga companies?!?)
  • Nintendo is a Parent company of creatures Inc. So if you add all those together Nintendo owns more than 51% apparently. That means Gamefreak can't put pokemon games where Nintendo doesn't want them to.
BUT Nintendo does NOT own Gamefreak, Gamefreak can go develop any game outside the pokemon brand for any other company. They do make some games of course.

People say Nintendo owns 54% of gamefreak, but I don't buy it, that elephant game would be an a Nintendo system only, so Nintendo doesn't own the mojority of gamefreak for that to happen.

Since Nintendo has been planning to branch out to Mobile and PC for a long time now (but never told us there were) I'm not surprised Nintendo allowed pokemon related games/content to make their way to PC and Mobile

It's a pretty complicated scenario what with Nintendo, Creatures Inc, The Pokemon Company and Gamefreak owning some of it. I'd love for the info to put online and set in stone, but good luck finding that stone.

Re: Editorial: Nintendo's Approach to amiibo is Increasingly Frustrating

TsukiDeity

I whole heartily agree that Nintendo seriously needs to fix it's supply chain, but I don't agree with you opinion on Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer. If you watch the extended 9 minute introductory video for the Japanese launch, is sounds like all the characters are already in the game and you don't even require a single purchase of amiibo cards to play hundreds upon hundreds of hours. Amiibo cards in this game just seem like a gambling way of getting your favorite characters to move in and/or visit the newly decorated home.

Here's the video if anyone is interested, I recommend watching it.
I didn't care about this game until I saw this video. This video sold me on it.

This game has way more depth then people give it credit for, plus it won't be sold at full retail price, it's a budget priced game. I'm more than happy to get a second AC game (main or not) on the same system. Nintendo isn't know for doing that. It's a fully fleshed out spin-off, so I'm happy with it.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Franchises We Want to See at E3 - Animal Crossing

TsukiDeity

I want a AC Wii U game as much as the next guy, but I'm wondering if Nintendo will really announce it for Wii U. This will be the most expensive AC game to date and most likely the worst selling AC game in the series. I don't see it selling like hot cakes in Japan either since it's on console So it's up to NA and EU to pick up the slack. The GCN version (according to wiki) sold 2.3m copies with an install base of 21m. The Wii U isn't going to surpass the GCN (I'd love to be proven wrong). So the potential sales of this new game won't look to hot in my opinion.
BUT imagine if Nintendo decided to boycott the Wii U and they are planning to release a new AC game along side the NX at launch, along with a new main Mario game (if not Mario, maybe a Zelda?). I honestly think that would be the smarter business decision. AC coupled with Mario (or Zelda) would do wonders for the launch of the NX.

Again, I still hope it comes to Wii U, as I'll buy it day one. I'm just putting my two cents out there. haha

Re: Here's A More Detailed Look At Nintendo's E3 2015 Schedule

TsukiDeity

I don't think anyone has picked up on it yet, BUT the Nintendo Treehouse Live Pre-Show ****STARTS at 2:20PM and ENDS at 3:00PM****. It's even written on the nintendo e3 page. Looks like it's 40 minutes long and not 25 minutes. Tune in at 2:20PM instead of 2:35PM or you'll miss out on a whole 15 minutes of the show!

Re: Standard-Sized New Nintendo 3DS Photos Emerge On FCC Website in North America

TsukiDeity

I'm guessing that Nintendo is planning to release just a head of the 2015 holiday season, basically before Black Friday. The New 3DS XL sales will probably slow down before then and so it would be a great way to create more interest for the New 3DS line by launching the new standard model. A great cheaper alternative for parents during the Christmas season. With the long wait they could manufacture a ton of them for launch too.

The 3DS XL is positioned as an upgrade console, and I could see Nintendo positioning the New 3DS (bundled with the adapter) towards new consumers.

Plus with amiibo selling like CRAZY, maybe it's proof that faceplates will do well and they will launch a ton of faceplates along side the launch of the standard New 3DS.

I REALLY want the New 3DS with those Zelda faceplates! They're SOO good!

Re: Nintendo's First Smartphone Title Could Launch As Soon As This Year

TsukiDeity

@technotaylor98 You do realized a game like this or animal crossing is bursting at the seems with potential micro-transactions.... I would HATE to see these franchise end up on smartphones and become like all those stupid social games where you can basically play for free for 5 minutes every hour, where you must wait to play more.... or you can pay for extras. Imagine that expensive Gracie Gorgeous Series sofa, it can be yours for 1,900,000 bells or.... 1.99$..... Nintendo is still supporting ACNL with new furniture DLC. I don't think we'd ever get free DLC with a smartphone Animal Crossing....
I'm sure it's coming, but I'm not looking forward to it.

Hopefully it's just a tiny sample of the full version of the game for 3DS, upcoming NX or even Wii U game, to get people interested in buying a Nintendo system.

Re: Nintendo Set To License All IP to Mobile Publisher DeNA

TsukiDeity

Welp... I foresee that our traditional software droughts are going to get a bit longer..... sigh They are going to have to use dedicated teams to make these mobile games, which will take away time and resources for our 3DS and Wii U games.
I'd love to be wrong though. As I'm not interested in mobile gaming at all.

I have my doubts that the 3DS and Wii U install base will grow from this. I see Nintendo making lots of money for sure, but I don't really see mobile gamers, who only play mobile games because they are cheap and on their smartphone, will go out and buy a dedicated handheld system to carry around with them as well as their smartphone. Let alone buy a Home Console.
