Only 300,000 switches out in the UK... Really shows how the UK market doesn't hold much favour for Nintendo. France has already sold over 400,000 switches so far, and it's a much smaller market than Europe's largest gaming market. Nintendo UK should pack up and move to France and centralize itself, would make it closer to Germany too, an other popular market for Nintendo.
@NintyNate Well going off of conversion rates. Retail game: 3,280 yen = 21.97 pounds Full digital: 2,778 yen = 18.61 pounds DLC only: 1,111 yen = 7.44 pounds
@ANeonChicken What are you talking about? The root beer I drink has alcohol in it, good old hard root beer. Taste just like the root beer soft drink! hahaha
@Kalmaro That would be horrible, legally married but only in the friendzone forever (so no baby making related activities) until she doesn't want to be your friend anymore and takes half your stuff... You wouldn't even be able to date other women in fear that she'll take half your stuff! Sounds like a horrifying scenario! hahaha

I couldn't answer either of these questions. There should have been a "none" option for the first question. I think it's a great idea, but severely overpriced.
Great... nothing of interests to me on 3DS.... and rewards for a system I won't touch again until one day I want that nostalgic feeling of playing it again..... which won't happen for many many years from now.... Why is Nintendo so slow with ANYTHING Switch?!? Are they waiting to launch switch rewards once they launch the online paid service next year?
@Tsurii What makes him an a-hole exactly? He's certainly a whiner, a little over-dramatic and very opinionated (which I'm sure could offend sensitive people) but I don't ever recall him actually being an a-hole. I know people don't like him for the things I stated above, but again, I don't really know why he's considered an a-hole. Did he go around doing mean things to people or something?
@Gex91 to be fair, making a demo actually takes some time and resources away from working on the actual game. So they could be simply working hard on the game and that's a good thing. Could also mean nothing. Haha But EA "seems" to be taking there Fifa on switch quite seriously. So I'd like to believe they won't release it as a buggy mess. But who really knows. Could also be a steaming pile of poop!
Would love that White x Lavender New 2DS XL Japan is getting. Japan get two new colours for Oct 5th and we get the one missing colour for Oct 6th that everyone else got at launch...
@KIRO Not a problem, I hope it ends up interesting you! If you're still on the fence, I'd recommend you watch a gameplay video on youtube as well. Watching someone play the original (Kingdom: Classic) game sold me on this franchise. @Windy I honestly hope you like it, I've easily put in over 50 hours in to this game, I'm a big fan. This game will definitely kick your butt in the beginning, but you'll learn to get better! I can't wait for Kingdom: Two Crowns next year, so I can play co-op with my wife! ^__^
@Bunkerneath It's a resource management game when you start off with nothing, you find free coins initially, then employ beggars with 1 coin each. Then with your coins you can initially assign them (the beggars, now your loyal subjects) as a builder (who you can get to build walls, towers, your ship, catapults (and man them), farms, etc), an archer (who will go out and hunt animals for coins and protect you against the greed (the monsters)) and at a later stage you can make them farmers (who will farm for coins). Everything more or less requires coins to build, rebuild (if walls are broken), assign, advance your camp and later create knights who are needed to carry out a group of archers to destroy the greed portals. Map layouts are randomized but with a dock at one end and a massive portal on the other. You must destroy smaller portals and build a ship to basically escape to the next island. There are also shrines that you can donate coins to to give you strengh/benefits, an assortment of mounts, etc. It's a slow paste game, but it is really good. I hope this helps you better understand the game.
@Drac_Mazoku Then I really don't think this game is right for you. You'd probably just be wasting your money. If you are interested though, I'd recommend you wait for a sale.
@Mando44646 @Windy Highly recommend this game, it's really good, if you like resource management style games! I'm hoping the price. Be nice to play this game on anywhere. ^__^ @KIRO It has something like 1800+ very positive review from Steam User (who bought the game), not many negative in comparison. I myself am a big fan of this game.
Is it just me or is the original 1998 anime look better than the new sun and moon anime?..... The new anime style just looks lazy in my opinion regardless of it's production quality...
@MoonKnight7 The Japanese versions of Red, Blue, Green and Yellow also got a boxed version. The box included a download code of course, but it also came with a small kanto map, a little booklet (sort of) describing the 3 starter pokemon (not sure if yellow had this with pikachu instead) AND a really neat gameboy cartridge (of said game) magnet.
I'm sorry Mitch, but Animal Crossing is not niche. Animal Crossing sold 2.32 Animal Crossing Wild World sold 11.75 Animal Crossing City Folk sold 3.38 Animal Crossing New Leaf sold 11.09 Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer sold 3.04 These number are NOT niche.... Zelda OoT: 3D 4.52 + Original 7.6 = 12.12m Zelda TP: GCN 1.43 + Wii 7.26 = HD No number but not a million = 9.6 tops. Those two are the best selling Zelda games to date. ONLY OoT sold better than Animal Crossing New Leaf and Wild World but that's only because it includes the remake. Animal Crossing is NOT a niche franchise. Sure those are Pokemon numbers... But Animal Crossing is definitely one of these top franchises.
I'm sure (insert nintendo franchise) amiibo Festival would have sold just as bad as ACaF did.
@In_Ex_Fan Capcom simply said that they "have nothing to announce at this time". Since then nothing has been confirmed. But I'm hoping they said this because Nintendo will be publishing it in the west and it hard at work with the English translations.
@Pazuzumas I actually think a bunch of awesome VR like this and Pod based games (where you actually enter a pod and you feel like your in a jet fighter), crane games (like in Japan), among others could seriously revitalize the arcade scene if the price wasn't super expensive to play. But... the west will never bother to get the good stuff that Japan has anyways, so it will never happen. Japan is constantly making new and exciting arcade machines to help keep the scene alive. I wish we could have something like SEGA arcade or Taito GAME here, but sadly it will never happen, games probably wouldn't be "realistic" enough and not have enough greens and browns and blacks to make the game exciting for westerners... sigh
Super Mario Odyssey is my top choice, just looks absolutely amazing! Super excited about this game.
Monster Hunter XX, I just want this game to be announced for the west! My switch needs this MH game!
Mario + Rabbids, I was shocked out how good this game looks, I was expecting something dumb, but I was pleasantly surprised and it's now a must buy for me!
Is Sonic Mania not confirmed for a physical release? SM looks WAY better! Looks like classic Sonic at his finest.
Fire Emblem Warriors exclusive: General bond haired boy and girl
Sword user x2
FE Shadow Dragon: Marth and Tiki (only confirmation is the Amiibo and Dragon stone)
Sword user x1 Dragon x1
FE Awakening: Chrom, Lissa, Frederick, Robin and Lucina
Sword user x2 Axe user x2 Magic user x1
FE Fates: Corrin, Xander and Ryoma
Sword user x3
So far Sword user x8, Axe user x2, Magic user x1 Dragon user x1
Not a single lance user so far... I have a feeling the weapon triangle won't have much effect in this game. If they include a single lance use, they would destroy the 8 sword users.. haha
If awakening is any indication of which characters they are including, I'm thinking the other 6 siblings from Fates and at Caeda from Shadow Dragon will show up.
I'm hopeful they'll include an alternate skin for Tiki so I can play as Awakening Tiki. I'd be very happy with that, along with Lucina. ^__^
@worldstraveller They wouldn't do both male and female versions of both corrin and robin as seperate characters, that would be a waste on the 19 ish character roster. But I wouldn't be surprised if in the campaign you only get female corrin and male robin, but their alternate genders (skin swap) can be either unlocked at a later point or used in other modes. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
@RainbowGazelle To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of them were SJWs, except Audrey. A woman who get's breast implants (and also loves Japan) can't be against a booby slider, I would think. haha
@RainbowGazelle Those 5 games needed to be censored (I don't agree though), if you need someone to blame, blame NoA and the US with it's trigger happy and over sensitive minority. NoA doesn't want to feed their agenda. Fatal Frame 5(PZ5) and TMS both have scantily clad women in bikinis. Heck SJW were already complaining about those bikini in the Japanese version even before the game was even localized... FEFates has a scene were SJW believe that Nintendo is promoting druging.... SJW thinking Bravely Default caters to pedos because the characters look like kids in revealing outfits.... Xenoblade Chronicles X had a booby slider... SJWs jumped on that like hotcakes! C'mon this stuff doesn't float very well in the US. This is not Nintendo of Japan's or Kimishima's fault, this has everything to do with the US market.
Japan is culturally very different from western countries, and what makes sense there doesn't always make sense outside Japan. Personally, all of these changes are just silly, people really shouldn't care about such trivial things, people just need to stop being offended by everything....
@GoldenGamer88 ah sorry, my mistake, I complete missed the whole 'my' part... haha The Persona series certainly isn't niche, but it's not the biggest series outside Japan that's for sure. I, myself, have never really cared about all that goty stuff, it's all pointless to me, just like the emmys. There's nothing wrong with great story and "boring" gameplay. 999, one of my favorite games, is certainly not very "fun" for most people, so I completely understand you.
@GoldenGamer88 According to metacritic, Persona 5 has 22 perfect scores, where as Zelda BotW has 68 perfect scores. Persona 5 is a great game, but I'd be shocked if it won more GOTY awards over Zelda. Mario also look wonderfuls, but I think it might be hard to beat Zelda's score. We'll see what happens, may the best game win. ^__^
Wait... that background in the photo says Harvest Moon Light of Hope, but it shows nothing but Harvest Moon Skytree Village characters... Is this new game simply recycling all it's characters from that previous game? The writer did mention Dean, Jeanne and Melanie, those were the names of the same people in Skytree Village...
@faint wait what? Does MHXX on 3DS come with English installed? If that's the case, I'll buy the 3DS version for my self and buy the Switch version for my wife. I'd rather buy a 2nd switch and two copies of MHXX Switch though...
@locusts By 5 fire emblem games are you counting Fates as 3? I myself only see it as three. but that doesn't matter. It could be "over saturation" as you say, but I think the reason for FEE:SoV weak sales both in the UK and Japan (don't know the sales in NA) are due to a few key things.
1) It's a port of the black sheep of the series, it may be new for us, but many Japanese FE fans have probably played it and/or don't like this style. 2) There's no relationships or kids that helped make the series a mainstream hit. 3) It's colour palette is not so interesting, the game focuses on faded warm colours (reds/oranges). beiges and browns... In my opinion it's the ugliest FE game to date. Character designs are great, but the colour choices IS made is terrible. 4) As much as Nintendo will not admit it, the 3DS is slowly fading out of relevancy, couple that with a REMAKE of the least popular Fire Emblem game doesn't really help sales. 5) Many people that may have been interested in this game have purchased a Switch and because they love it so much, no longer want to buy 3DS games anymore. Many people have simply moved on from the 3DS and are sticking with their new Switch.
This is my opinion, there could be any number of other reasons, but as marketing for this game has been better than Awakening and Fates (more commercials, adds, etc), it's low sales speaks volumes.
@impurekind It's quite possible that building an new HD MH with a new engine for MH5 will take some time, but Capcom still wants a MH game out early 2018 to help with their end of financial year in March. If MH5 is using a new engine, I wouldn't expect it until 2018. In my opinion, they need a new engine to stay fresh. MHXX (3DS) is basically running on a super altered MH Tri (for Wii) engine... They've really milked that engine for all it's worth! haha But who really knows.
@Anti-Matter You see, what did I tell you. Nothing to worry about. MH is here and it's going to be awesome. Still looking forward to MH5 in the future though.
@pandarino I completely agree, if you think about it, Monster Hunter XX is still technically running off the MH Tri engine from Wii (mind you a heavily altered version), so yeah would be AWESOME to see a completely new engine for Switch.
@Pigeon gigady gigady! Jokes aside, the Japanese don't really use the X or XXX in their porn industry. I once made the joke and my Japanese friends and they didn't get it. They could have renamed it for the west as Monster Hunter General Generational Generations. lol
@ieatdragonz They need the stock first as it's basically always sold out. Heck the Japanese My Nintendo store sold out of their shipment in 6 minutes... I was just super lucky to be walking into an electronics store when they put the sign up stating Switches were available! haha Super happy with Blue/Red.
@oatmealwarrior92 Wow that's alot of hours! I racked about around 400 hours myself playing with my wife. I was never interested in this game, I didn't even enjoy the demo for MH3G on Wii U. I just randomly bought the Wii U and 3DS version to make my wife happy, and low and behold 400 hours later we switched over to MH4! haha Super excited for MH5 on switch. Get the convenience of playing the game out and about with friends locally (like 3DS or PSP) AND the ability to play on the big screen (like Wii U). Super hyped! ^__^
@BezBot What your saying is true, but some people prefer to have their own screen instead of sharing half a screen. To each their own. Well MH5 hasn't actually been announced. But it will certainly come to the Switch as Capcom wants to keep the series on handhelds (that's what made it popular in the first place). The Switch is the best handheld on the market. It will certainly be 1 player per system with up to 4 players co-op (how the series has always been) and online (since it's introduction with MH3G Wii U). Until playing locally with 3 friends (in japan) is no longer popular, it's not going away. It may not look like it, but MH is quite the social game in Japan.
@HyrulianOfHyrule I actually love this idea. Let us spend our (abundance of) platinum coins on badges to decorate our switches! Be great to have themes tied to platinum coins (or something like use so many platinum coins and get 50% off said theme).
@BezBot Just waiting for the inevitable announcement of Monster Hunter 5 for Switch, then I'm buying a 2nd switch for my wife. ^__^ Can't wait for some awesome MH co-op!
@Octane Nintendo would have been bombarded with a very large angry mob of Monster Hunter fans, myself included. Imagine launching Monster Hunter 5, this game will sell millions, but no one would be able to get a switch to play it.... that would make sooo many people angry! haha Better for MH5 to launch in the winter when it normally does. That way Nintendo will finally have plenty of Switch stock to go around and Nintendo doesn't create a huge mob of angry fans! .

Animal Crossing sold 2.32
Animal Crossing Wild World sold 11.75
Animal Crossing City Folk sold 3.38
Animal Crossing New Leaf sold 11.09
Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer sold 3.04
These number are NOT niche....
Zelda OoT: 3D 4.52 + Original 7.6 = 12.12m

Those two are the best selling Zelda games to date. ONLY OoT sold better than Animal Crossing New Leaf and Wild World but that's only because it includes the remake.

@faint wait what? Does MHXX on 3DS come with English installed?
If that's the case, I'll buy the 3DS version for my self and buy the Switch version for my wife. I'd rather buy a 2nd switch and two copies of MHXX Switch though...
Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Holds Top 10 UK Spot as Street Fighter II Tumbles Down
@locusts By 5 fire emblem games are you counting Fates as 3?
Re: Nintendo Gains Over $2 Billion in Market Value Following Monster Hunter XX Announcement
They've really milked that engine for all it's worth! haha
But who really knows.
Re: Capcom Is Bringing Monster Hunter XX to the Switch
@Anti-Matter You see, what did I tell you. Nothing to worry about. MH is here and it's going to be awesome. Still looking forward to MH5 in the future though.
Re: Capcom Is Bringing Monster Hunter XX to the Switch
@pandarino I completely agree, if you think about it, Monster Hunter XX is still technically running off the MH Tri engine from Wii (mind you a heavily altered version), so yeah would be AWESOME to see a completely new engine for Switch.
Re: Capcom Is Bringing Monster Hunter XX to the Switch
@Pigeon gigady gigady!
Jokes aside, the Japanese don't really use the X or XXX in their porn industry. I once made the joke and my Japanese friends and they didn't get it.
They could have renamed it for the west as Monster Hunter General Generational Generations. lol
Re: Capcom Is Bringing Monster Hunter XX to the Switch
@ieatdragonz They need the stock first as it's basically always sold out. Heck the Japanese My Nintendo store sold out of their shipment in 6 minutes... I was just super lucky to be walking into an electronics store when they put the sign up stating Switches were available! haha Super happy with Blue/Red.
Re: Talking Point: The Nintendo Switch Has a Chance for Significant Success, Especially as a Portable
Re: Talking Point: The Nintendo Switch Has a Chance for Significant Success, Especially as a Portable
Re: Nintendo Badge Arcade Receives Its Last Set of Badges in Japan Later This Month
@HyrulianOfHyrule I actually love this idea. Let us spend our (abundance of) platinum coins on badges to decorate our switches! Be great to have themes tied to platinum coins (or something like use so many platinum coins and get 50% off said theme).
Re: Talking Point: The Nintendo Switch Has a Chance for Significant Success, Especially as a Portable
@BezBot Just waiting for the inevitable announcement of Monster Hunter 5 for Switch, then I'm buying a 2nd switch for my wife. ^__^
Can't wait for some awesome MH co-op!
Re: Dark Witch Music Episode: Rudymical Is Dancing To The Switch eShop This Week
@SakuraHaruka
Best of luck in your hunt!
Re: Super Mario Run Version 2.1.0 Is Now Live
@aaronsullivan completely agree, would have loved to have my switch avatar dress up all funny!
Re: Nintendo Switch Hardware Sales Grow in Japan as Monster Hunter Stays at Number One
That way Nintendo will finally have plenty of Switch stock to go around and Nintendo doesn't create a huge mob of angry fans! .
