Re: Here Are The Top Ten Best-Selling Nintendo Switch Games As Of June 2020

Toy_Link

@GameOtaku
There has been no Nintendo produced bundles with the Switch and BOTW, MK8 DX for the past 2 years has been in a Switch bundle for Black Friday though.

Also MK8DX is the closest the Mario Kart series has been to launch of the console that it's released for (just over one month). Mario Kart has been Nintendo' biggest franchise for a long time now, so it would make sense that it's also the best selling on Switch.

Rumor right now is that USH's construction will be temporarily stalled so that the money can be moved into getting SNW into one of the parks in Florida (likely as a replacement to Kidz Zone in the main park).

If they're successful the Super Nintendo World in Florida would open at the same time that Epic Universe was going to originally.

Good thing SNW will be opening just a few months late at Universal Japan. Have a good time in Japan!
@EchoNemesis
Walt Disney World's parks are around 500+ acres and SNW is going to be around 10 acres. Universal Japan and Hollywood are significantly landlocked and SNW is already pretty tiny compared to the Wizarding World or Cars Land.

Best chance for other Nintendo IPs Florida and that seemed to be the plan with Pokemon and Zelda being future expansions. But I'm sure the focus is now getting the Mario portion into one of the existing two parks before Nintendo's contact expires with universal.

Re: Atari Has Looked To Nintendo For Inspiration With Its New VCS Console

"Change "lead designer" to "a contractor" and "work" to "laying in bed after breaking his back in a skydiving accident that was purely his own choice and also his own bad decision for making"."

If Rob Wyatt's/Tin Giant's case is that open and shut why hasn't Atari shut down all the misconceptions and ill will generated from this down with a simple PR statement?
Why is Wyatt so insistent of having this go through the court system if all his claims can easily be disproven by simple internal Atari documentation?

Also source that he hadn't gone back to work 6 or 7 months prior to quitting in October after the November 2018 skydiving incident?

" Also, The Register is a ***** filled bag parading as "tech news" and clearly has an agenda. Anything they "report" on should clearly be taken with a grain of salt."

"Agendas" don't make audio interviews come out of thin air.

"Don't but it if you aren't interested in it! I have no intent or interest in buying an Amico, but am I on Intellivision forums shouting how its going to fail and how much it sucks?"
You're on a Nintendo news site that's filled with a variety of opinions seemingly just to say everyone else's opinions suck.

"Nope! I have a life and don't live in a basement. "

How does white knighting a multi million dollar company give you a life. Most people here probably haven't thought about the Atari VCS in months, probably since the last article in March.

"Everyone screaming and crying hasnt even touched one."
Don't ask questions! Consume product.

There's plenty of people here questioning Nintendo's release strategy for the rest of the year. If you look in the forums, there are plenty of people complaining about Sony only having a Spiderman side game as of now for the PS5's first winter or Halo Infinite not looking "next-gen" enough.

Again who cares about people posting fair critical comments about games or consoles prior to release other than fanboys? Most of this site would be empty if people couldn't give their honest thoughts on upcoming releases.

Go to an Atari VCS Facebook fan page with only positive comments if you want only an echo chamber, so that you can feel more secure about your upcoming purchase.

Re: Poll: No, Really, What Was Nintendo's Worst Year?

Toy_Link

I think its too soon to really call 2020, "Nintendo's worst year" when we're only barely past the halfway point. I feel like it'd be fair if September's gone past without the typical Nintendo Direct and there still hasn't been any games since Paper Mario.

Other than the lack of an E3, the release timing hasn't been any different than past years for the first half of the year. Most of Nintendo's best games come out in the second half of the year.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aimé Joins Rogue Games As A Strategic Advisor

@TG16_IS_BAE
He ran Nintendo's biggest foreign division during its two biggest successes ever (DS and Wii) where it sold the best after over a decade of losing relevancy to Sony.

It's entirely possible without him the Wii could've had the same fate in the United States like the Saturn and the DS could've become a joke of a system next to the PSP.

But then again, you could probably blame the Wii U's failure on Reggie with the Wii U with Nintendo of America's bad marketing and bad third party relations trickling down to the European divisions. With the Wii U selling decently in Japan (for a console), where they have the least influence.

Re: Crysis Remastered Switch eShop File Size Revealed

@TG16_IS_BAE
Is it possible that the original version was very unoptimized when it came to file size and the Remastered devs found a better solution to storing the data and making it smaller?

I know Spyro from last year on PS4 and XBO had a ridiculous file size initially at 70+ GB and they eventually shrunk that down in future updates to a much more manageable 30 GB on both consoles without loosing the smallest details.

Re: Nintendo's Mobile Business Is Here To Stay

Toy_Link

@rockodoodle
Switch makes multiple billions of dollars per year, while it took mobile over 3 years to gross 1 billion.
@Medic_Alert
Nintendo didn't go into the mobile business to create a game that took one year to gross what one of their consoles titles could make in its launch weekend.

Re: The Super Mario 64 PC Port Just Got A 60fps Patch

Toy_Link

@BetterThanVegas
What's special about this that Nintendo couldn't do in house? HD Textures, 60 FPS, a higher polygon Mario what's unique about any of that?

And there's hundreds of Sonic fan game creators and even though Christian Whitehead was already shown to be skilled, when SEGA hired him they gave him relatively low risk jobs like creating mobile ports of old Sonic games before he worked his way up to the real thing.

This ain't no Metroid AM2R. This is much closer to any of those 16 bit remakes Sonic Master System games. Nice, yes. But have any of those people have created any official Sonic games, no.

If they want to work for Nintendo, move to Japan, learn Japanese, and apply for a job.
