One game we would certainly love to see and hear more about is Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
The last proper information we got was back in May when TT Games showed fans key artwork along with some new screenshots. It also revealed there would be "nearly" 500 characters featured and many of them would be playable.
Now, in a much less official update, we've got an apparent leak of the game's start menu screen. As reported on our sister site Pure Xbox, this image comes courtesy of RuggedEagle on YouTube. Take a look below:
Is it real, is it fake? There's no mention of where exactly it's been sourced from - but according to RuggedEagle, there's no intention here of causing any harm to TT Games. The channel just wanted to share a bit more about the game, as fans are so starved for information.
At the very least, it gives us a better look at some of the characters we'll be able to play as (assuming it is legitimate). Even if it is real, there is no guarantee TT Games will necessarily keep this start screen for the final release.
We'll just have to wait and find out. Do you like the look of it? Are you looking forward to this game? Tell us down below.

Gonna buy this game on ps4 once it releases (or ps5 if it releases after the ps5 launch).
Maybe double dip it on switch once it’s on sale.
Really looking forward to the game.
Looks pretty good to me.
Looking forward to this.
Where’s GNK droid? Is he safe? Is he alright?
It's always the LEGO games that make the Episode I and II tolerable for me to sit through.
I haven’t looked forward to a lego game in a good while. This looks fun.
@The-Senate-66 It seems in your anger... you killed him.
Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga on the Wii was amazing. Hoping this is just as good, but we'll have to wait and see.
Lego games have been quite rushed these days so it's nice to see them take their time with this
@Luminary NOOOOOOOOOO!
@TheFrenchiestFry At least episode 2 isnt 8 or 9
Will somebody please leak some gameplay footage next? Can't believe how long this game has been announced for with absolutely no gameplay.
Loved the Wii's Star Wars: The Complete Saga. So insta-buying this one for sure.
This legit gives me more chills than seeing the actual live action characters like that would. I love Lego Star Wars so much!! So nostalgic!
Hope it's legit. Wonder when more news will drop.
Yeah, a big reminder of how important Ep. IX lore is.
I can’t wait for this game! I love The Complete Saga on we so hopefully this is just as good if not better! 😃
@VexingInsanity Episode VIII is better and more watchable in every concievable way. I can't even watch Episode I or II in one sitting. I don't care about the "muh lore" argument, but as a film, TLJ with all its flaws is better written, acted, directed and shot than those films
@TheFrenchiestFry I wholeheartedly agree. The Anakin/Padme romance was painful in Episode II.
@TheFrenchiestFry Try the novelisations of the prequels. They are much better than the movies.
I loved The Complete Saga back on Wii. My (now) fourteen year old son and I have some really lovely memories of playing that game together. Sadly, as with a lot of Switch games, you've got to try and contain your enthusiasm until you find out how well it's been ported.
@Trikeboy Ah yes every Star Wars fan knows that to make sense out of bad films all they have to do is "READ THE BOOKS" lol
Is this game even coming out anymore? So disappointed in the lack of footage and news. Very skeptical. And that’s from someone who has bought almost every LEGO game, even the handheld variations on the 3ds/vita
@VexingInsanity agree. 8 and 9 were the worst SW films. 2 wasn’t great either and the romance scenes were very bad, but the writing was much better than the last 2.
Why don't we all agree that Empire Strikes Back is the best?
dude Been waiting for this for a long time.
Lego games have a pretty good track record on switch, so TT has my pre-order. me-YOWZA!
@TheFrenchiestFry problem is if rian hackson didnt screw up episode 8 then we would of had plaguies has the main villain instead of palpatine which would of made more sense.
@RiasGremory So you're mad that a villain with no origin or backstory of any kind when he was teased in a prior film showed up in physical form in a single film and got killed off at the end of that single film
So...the Emperor.
I don't excuse the fact that they just brought Palpatine back off screen but goddamn if you're going to be that dense about Johnson literally doing what Lucas and company did 33 years prior to TLJ I don't get your logic.
@TheFrenchiestFry dude johnson just threw everything down the toilet wen disney gave him free reign over episode 8 while they kept jj on a dam leash especially with kennedy who keep changing stuff in episode 9 which made it worse.
@RiasGremory You think they kept JJ on a leash just because they could? No it was because people like you wouldn't stop bickering about how TLJ actually tried to be a different film from the others. He was kept on a leash because of people like you responding so strongly to the last one because they thought it would make you happier.
They don't do this just because they can, but they feel it's out of necessity all just to keep a league of keyboard warriors happy. Literally everything in Episode IX was just done so they could retcon the film you didn't like. It was reactionary to the fact you didn't respond well when they actually tried getting creative, because apparently Star Wars just can't be imaginative anymore, and it always has to be restricted by dumb fan enforced rules.
@AG_Awesome i love the handheld vita lego games,they are just the 3ds versions with higher resolution. Did you prefer the 3ds or vita ports?
It doesn't look real to me. How could you leave out Palpatine, the Big Bad of the entire saga?!
@TheFrenchiestFry your just being butthurt that cant accept the fact episode 8 was just bad even mark hamil who played luke even stated himself the movie was very disappointing especially how they portrayed luke in that one was even worse....By the way disney themselves are considered wiping the slate clean by removing 7,8,and 9 out of canon because of the backlash it received.
@Reigestugatensho Nah, I know I'm in the minority, but I prefer "A New Hope" over "Empire."
@RiasGremory There is a 0% chance that that will happen. Also, I love Mark Hamill, but frankly I don’t care about his opinions on movies. Last Jedi was fantastic.
@RiasGremory
Why get rid of it from the canon when there'll be plenty of nostalgia for it in 10 years and Disney will attempt to capitalize on it in whatever way it can?
If it made a ton of money, nostalgia will bloom in a decade or two.
@RiasGremory Sorry but Mark Hamill isn't the authority on the character. He certainly is entitled to his opinion but he only knows Luke when he is in his early 20s and still headstrong. If you think a 60 year old is the same person he was when he was 20, you are in for some shocking life developments.
Who is the authority on Luke? George Lucas. The little we know about his plans for Luke had Luke living as a depressed hermit on an island next to a Jedi temple. When a young woman (Kira in his draft) comes looking for training, he would refuse her. Sound familiar? That is what we saw in The Last Jedi.
Also, anyone who believes that rumour of Lucasfilm retconning the sequel trilogy are just kidding themselves. It is NEVER going to happen. Stop listening to angry "fandom menace" youtubers and clickbait news sites.
@jump I can only speak for myself, but I think it depends on which series of films you saw as a child. I grew up when the original trilogy was still king and a yardstick by which other blockbusters were judged. But from the opening moments of The Phantom Menace I felt we were in trouble. The opening crawl was about the taxation of trade routes being in dispute. Early aliens had broken Japanese accents and a few poop/fart jokes had been added to the mix which, when juxtaposed with the boring Senate scenes made me wonder who the heck the target audience was. I don't hate the prequels, but the strongest entries in the original saga had stories by Lucas but screenplays by other people who understood pacing and dialogue. Still, they had some fun scenes and John Williams' scores were excellent. Red Letter Media has the most in-depth takedown of the prequels I've ever seen. Revenge of the Sith was a strong entry and the new Disney films could have been more interesting if they let Rey take the wrong path as Anakin did. To answer your comment, as a fan I don't hate the prequels. They're riddled with some plot holes and clunky dialogue, but they're fun. If merchandising success means anything to popularity, the recent Disney trilogy has earned the poorest reception and items from the original films still outsell anything that's come out since
@Tonyo Once I found out VITA had better ones I only got them for that, but the first 3ds one I git was clone wars and I really enjoyed it on there with the 3D effect. Vita definitely had the better versions though. I actually liked them as much as the console ones in some cases.
@RiasGremory the fact that you actually bought into those extremely unsubstantiated rumors about Disney wiping their own trilogy from canon is evidence enough you're the butthurt one here
Omg a screen!!! Look at it before...you cant.
@TheFrenchiestFry
I say this as a casual Star Wars watcher, who has seen Episode 1-8.
Episode 8 is, imo, the worst written movie I have ever seen, not just counting Star Wars movies.
The only reason why I had even remotely fun with this movie is because I stopped taking it seriously after a while. If I watch it as the trainwreck that it is, it is at least a bit funny.
And no, this isn't just because of the lore, though that is part of the problem.
It made me skip episode 9 as well.
Do I like episode 1 and 2? No.
Do I like them more than episode 8? Yes.
Way to go, putting Ray at the top of the pile because everybody thinks that makes sense.
@Krambo42 theres a high chance of them rebooting 7,8,and 9 because of 8 and 9 failure to meet expectations plus all the backlash they got from alot of fans of star wars and yes some people like yourself like the TLJ thats fine but majority of people hate it along with 9 even though it was slightly better then 8.
@TheFrenchiestFry its hard to take you die hard star wars fans seriously wen you try to defend TLJ which had horrible plot,made hux a joke,ruined lukes character,killed of a potential villain could of been plaguies which would of been alot better then bringing palpatine back,and dont get me started on fynn and rose part.
@sleepinglion TFA had everything set up for a potential dark path for this trilogy but everything got screwed up by hackson and kathleen kennedy.
@Toy_Link not really man since episode 8 and 9 had huge drop offs in the box office especially rise of skywalker so yes disney did lose alot of money on those 2 films even if they hit nearly a billion dollars or slightly over but those huge 67% to 80% drop off will effect on how much they make and it clearly it did.
@RiasGremory It will never happen:
-the movies aren’t as hated as haters want to believe they are
-they would never admit they screwed up
-so many comics, books, games, shows, etc. have ties to the movies
-I can’t imagine they’d want to end the saga without Carrie Fisher or Harrison Ford (who I’m sure doesn’t want to do any more)
-what in the world would happen if people didn’t like the new 7-9?
-I’m sure they are more than ready to tell their own stories that are in no way tied to the pre-Disney stories/characters (i.e. this whole High Republic thing they’re doing).
-who would want to work with them in the future knowing that their work could be totally scrapped?
-it’s a ridiculous idea
@RiasGremory
Each movie in the Original Trilogy also has the pattern of each one grossing less than the previous one.
All 3 movies made well over a billion and if there's a market for Space Jam nostalgia, I don't see why there can't be one for these movies that got millions of people into theaters.
@RiasGremory You nailed it, dude. Kathleen Kennedy ruined this trilogy's direction
All of the Star Wars Fans may officially hate me now. When I read the argument between Rias and Frenchies about TLJ I confused it for Return of the Jedi. The Last Jedi is the movie in the new trilogy when they off'd Luke Skywalker. Oops.
@AG_Awesome i prefered them to console versions too as levels were shorter and didnt overstay there welcome. The switch has only 3 decent lego games compared to 3ds or vita imo lego city, jurassic world, harry potter and dc supervillains. I think the glory days of lego games have passed.
