Re: Campaign Begins To Get Terminal Cancer Patient The Chance To Play Smash Bros. Ultimate

I like nintendo life as it is usually a nice place in a internet that is often filled with nastiness and hate. It is really disappointing to see that so clearly on show in such a normally friendly place. Although it is heartening to see so many of the usual commentators come out so strongly in support of being a kind human being. And to those that have lost close ones and find some of the comments hurtful many of us here share your pain.

Re: Hyper Light Drifter Launches On Switch This September With Exclusive Content

I'm really over the the whole 8 /16 bit homage pixel art thing by now but this is one I may pick up but I'm really done with it. Originally when I bought the switch, my first Nintendo console since the GQ I just hoped for a few great Nintendo releases and good indie take up. It has certainly exceeded that and maybe that is way I now feel I want more. Two indie outings in a row just seem to highlight how bare rest of the year is looking

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Cloud Services Explained By Diablo III Associate Producer

TooBarFoo

@RennanNT you can but you need to deactivate on the active switch, So I can not just log into my sons Switch and carry on like I can on both his PS4 and Xbox. On those platforms as long as I am not logged in on another system at that time I can just log-in and play. This "small" detail is the difference between something being great for those of us that play on multiple systems and completely worthless!

Re: Interview: Daemon X Machina Producer Kenichiro Tsukuda On Cooking Up An Authentic Mech Game For Everyone

I don't know how taken I am by the visual style of this game, I've gone from loving to hating to everywhere in-between back and forth. But at the end of the day its game play that will make or brake the game. So coming from a accomplished design team and them not putting all their time and money in photo graphics certainly keeps me interested. But only good reviews will open my wallet!

Re: Motion Twin Apologises For Frame Rate Drops In Switch Version Of Dead Cells

TooBarFoo

It looks like a great game from a small team. I haven't played yet but my 11 year old is totally hooked. Its always going to hard for a small team doing a multi plat game to refine the code to maximise the switch handheld. but mam is the switch the best way to play play these leading indies. I really bought it for Zelda and a better way to get more time to enjoy this kind of game. It has of course taken over 80%+ of my game time and done so much more but as long as we get this games on the platform in good state I'm happy. I do think a lot the small devs may start moving the main code base to the switch as porting from their as the financials seem to support this direction.

Re: DOOM Eternal On Switch Will Target 30fps

TooBarFoo

I bought Doom for pretty cheap on the ps4, think it was £14 but while it seemed great only played a few hours. It always hard to get in big screen mature gaming in and I move on or forgot about it. Double dipped for switch on a whim to have a game with me when I was headed somewhere and I ended up doing two full play thoughs. If your going to play on the big screen your better getting it on another platform by the handheld experience was a demon smashing party to hell and back. I'll pick this up, should pick up wolfenstian also but I just cannot get enough of Hollow knight at the moment. I've put in over 100 hours!! its so cheap, so very very good and still has a hornet expansion coming along!!

Re: Nintendo Labo's New Vehicle Kit Will Let You Drive, Dive And Fly On Your Switch

TooBarFoo

I really like the idea of labo and my youngest keeps asking for it, but at the moment the software element seems underwhelming. Added to the fact that I live in central London and space is always at a premium so what do I do with all the big cardboard creations. With Japaneses homes tiny even by London standards I can't see this being a hit in the home market. If the software ever looks to reach even AA standard I would bite at least once.

Re: Guide: Hollow Knight Spells Locations

TooBarFoo

I'm already 30 hours in and hardly feel like I've scratched the surface with this game. I can easily see myself putting in over a 100 hours to 100% this game and there is still another large free dlc drop promised. This has to be my game of 2018 so far. I'm very glad I held off playing on PC and waited for the switch drop although I might just buy the Steam version on top of hopefully getting my hands on a physical copy when released just to give some love back the Dev team

Re: Hollow Knight Sold Over A Quarter Of A Million Copies On Switch In Two Weeks

TooBarFoo

For all those waiting for a physical release this game is such good value it is one I would not give a second thought to double dipping, It maybe the only game I have on the switch which I would. I almost feel bad by how little it cost like I did not pay a far price for it. If it does get a physical I would not open my copy. I think this is a game that will become a proper collectable in the future.

Re: Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aimé Hits Back At Analysts After Recent Share Price Drop

TooBarFoo

I just bought Hollow Knight but beyond that I think my switch will go back into the draw. That and Thimbleweed park are the only games I bought this year and I don't see anything in the pipe line for me. I got a few hundred hours play out of switch so not to bothered but once one of the kids losses theirs, which is bound to happen, I'll pass mine on. This is why the stock price has dropped, the games are simply not there

Re: EA Just Had A Record-Breaking Year Despite A Decline In Physical Sales

TooBarFoo

EA is going to need it. Most their income is from the sports licences and after spending the year going on about how low the cost is to EA for the likes of FIFA ultimate team the leagues have all sat up and taken notice. I know first hand that discussion is happening in the premier league about how to take most of that cake. The current ideas include 80/20 EPL/EA income split every time a EPL player is used in any other team than their contracted to in game.

Re: Preview: Getting Gruesome In Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus On Switch

TooBarFoo

I played 200 hours of skyrim on ps3, I have another 200 on switch and lots still to do, I have Doom on the ps4 but only played about 3 hours. Don't have the time but on switch i'm 30 hours in (I'm cleaning up 100% as I go and I'm old! I die a LOT!) So i never looked at WNC on ps4 XboX just don't have the time anymore. But I'll pick it up on switch. Portable is just a game changer for me. Never played portable before but I get why it rules in Japan with the long work hours there.

Re: Could Switch's Non-Compliant USB-C Spec Be To Blame For Third-Party Docks Bricking Consoles?

TooBarFoo

From my understanding ( I design a small subset of functionality for ARM reference modeling for a living) your not going to have an issue with a USB type C charger doing any damage as long as the charger is complaint AND you are not using the output switching at the same time. IE output to TV. It does not matter if the output is active or not. So chargers should be fine but docks are a risk.
