I also want to hear how this will work with kids accounts. At the moment both my kids have accounts set up under my main account. I hope these will be included in the single subscription.
Mostly I just hope hope they use some of the $20 to sort out the terrible multiplayer support. I have more issues in a single sitting of Mario Kart than I have had in a year of playing Overwatch on PS4. If they roll out dedicated servers for $20 a year then I will feel I received great value. The voice solution sucks but online voice chat is mostly a racist swear feast. I want to let my kids have fun online without exposure to that so I can at least understand why it is difficult to balance. I really don't care about access to 20 year games though. I got two NES classics as stocking fillers for the kids at Christmas and they have not even been opened.

Just please give me Bayo2 for the switch. I have been thinking about getting one on steam but it will just sit in my back catalog along with some great ps4 games I have not had time to play. I can get 15+ hours a week game time on the switch but lucky to get 3 hours on ps/ps4
pre-ordered Amazon £43 - £2 prime discount - £5 code = £36. Worth the punt and will get £20 trade-in after a month if it doesn't hold interest. Hard to see me not getting £16 worth of fun out of it. That the cost of a couple of cups of coffee and a sandwich to share around these parts.
Nintendo sizes are small because their code is super cleaned. Typical day one patch on my PS4 are bigger than this and those rarely contain graphic assets. It helps that they are using custom single game engines (although Odyssey looks to be built on the Zelda BOTW engine)
The base code is probably very messy by now, Tends to happen with anything that is in development for so long. There will be newer functions replicating older ones with slight changes as the use and effect risk of changing the older functions gets lost in depths of time. Until I see reviews this is not even close to my shopping list, in any format.
Don't expect third parties on this for a very long time. Besides the charger, USB hub and usb-c / hdmi converter there is also a custom chip in the dock. I think it handles the negotiation of TV sync setting between the switch and the TV to allow the instant resizing. The instant switch is not a easy thing to achieve. But this will be very expensive to replicate. So I think 3rd parties are out the question for at least 3 years. I could of course be completely wrong and some where in China...
I'm hoping I can trade those gold coins for online access once it is a pay service. I would offer an incentive and reward those who expand their game libraries so be a win/win for both the player and Nintendo. Defiantly not spending any on anything before then even if there was something worth while which there is not.
This has convinced me to pick it up. I liked the idea of getting to take out my frustrations by giving the kids a good old fashioned but virtual smack down. But without doubt I would ended up getting my butt kicked every time by their ninja like reaction times. Now, like with Mario kart, I can sneak in more practice in single player GP and even the odds.
@Zach777 So I have looked at the CEC issue. What looks to be happening is every time the switch does a network update check while sleeping it seems to check if it is docked or not and does this by probing the hdmi link and not the dock. On some TVs this is enough to switch on / change input. Both are at fault. Nintendo should probe the dock, they have what looks like addressable silicon in the dock they could probe or just not check docked state if sleeping. But the probe is not a CEC auto power on packet, so in theory the TV should not switch but some TV makers tend to over react to ensure compatibility (everyone has their own implementation of CEC). Only thing I can suggest is turn off auto network connect. also check TV CEC setting to see if you have option of strict mode. I have not tested with the new update.
I like the idea of getting out my frustrations on the kids and giving them a good virtual beating. So locking forward to see arms. Not going to order before reviews though due. Nintendo pushed 1-2 hard and that has been panned. I always understood that what made Nintendo different was any in-house game they pushed could be counted on as being polished. 1-2 cleared that misconception up. I don't let my 11 year old play normal shooters but he and his friends all seem to be pumped for Splatoon so again its just a maybe for me
Switch has been sold out in the UK since launch. I ordered on Amazon as soon as Zelda reviews came out and received mine 10 days ago. No luck getting a second one for my son yet though. I'm a PS gamer mainly and always have been and will remain so. I have never owned a Nintendo before nor really wanted to. But the switch is a great second device and having never played Zelda before it may be the best game I have ever played and i'm 45 and started gaming on a zx81. I'm hoping it keeps getting indy support mostly as AAA are covered on PS4. I did put 200 hours into Skyrim and I can not wait to restart that adventure.. on my 1.5 hour each way train to work and back each day. I think this is going to sell as well to ps4/xbox1/pc gamers as Nintendo fans and that should mean a great long term catalogue.

Re: Nintendo Switch Smashes Target With 2.74 Million Hardware Sales in March
I was one of those over attach rates, I had Zelda delivered 3 weeks before my switch order was delivered. I think it may have been a common issue.
