Re: Nintendo Download: 29th July (Europe)

@ViewtifulJohtun Hey buddy. Yes, I played the first one, the DS cartridge on a 3DS. I also have the Solo Remix on my phone, but never bothered with the Switch port. I absolutely loved it too, but trust me, if you go in with an open mind, NEO will blow you away. It’s dripping with atmosphere, it has one of the best soundtracks of any game I’ve ever played, and the combat, while initially simple, is immensely fun.

As a rule, I tend to wait for a sale on Square Enix games, but after finishing the demo a couple weeks back, I just had to have it. Like I said, I’m only ten or so hours in, but it’s shaping up to be one of my top ten Switch games. If you want to ask anything else, just holler.

EDIT: Oh and one other thing, I do about 90% of my Switch gaming in docked mode as I think the current systems LCD screen loses some colour, but I’m mainly playing NEO in handheld as the colours still pop. Can’t wait for that OLED Switch!

After amassing a 1500+ digital-only Switch collection, I preordered my first two physical games; Skyward Sword and NEO The World Ends With You.

To be honest, I got a little bored with SS after the first dungeon (as well as a tad fed up with the controls), so when it arrived on Tuesday, I jumped straight into TWEWY… and what a game it is! Ten hours in and I’m absolutely head over heels for it. Loving the combat, the music, the story and the visuals, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

@damien33ad Yep, I really enjoyed Breath of the Wild, but its lack of dungeons, cool bosses and a proper story mean, for me, it’ll never be up there with the likes of Wind Waker, Link’s Awakening or A Link Between Worlds. Looking forward to playing Skyward Sword for the first time tomorrow. Enjoy it, buddy!

Re: Talking Point: Should We Be Worried About Screen Burn-In With Switch OLED?

The_Pixel_King

I’ve been trying to pre-order the white OLED here in the UK, but can’t get one for the life of me. Smyths have the Neon variant available, but I want the white one. Damn scalpers!

[EDIT] Wow, Kate, this burn-in sounds like a horrible business. I’m now slightly concerned. That being said, I had the OLED Vita for, like, four or five years and never came across the issue. Fingers crossed for the same with the Switch. If I ever manage to order one, that is!

Re: Gallery: Nintendo Switch OLED Model In All Its Glory

The_Pixel_King

@RupeeClock Completely agree. I only play in docked mode on the TV, so as sharp as the new Switch looks in its white suit, I’ll be sticking with my existing V2 model. Especially as I have a 512GB SD card, so the I don’t need the extra 32GB either. Looks a decent purchase for handheld players though.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 3rd)

@darkswabber Hey man, I have Crohn’s, too. Just wanted to say 'Hi' and that if you ever want to talk to someone who gets it, please do reach out, okay? Have a good weekend!

As for what I’m planning this weekend, I’ll no doubt play some MK8D with the kids, but I’m also playing through The Last of Us Part II on PS5. So far, so… amazing!

Re: Talking Point: What's That One Switch Game You Can't Bring Yourself To Delete?

The_Pixel_King

I have a 512GB SD card, which sounds like plenty, but I have something like 1,500 digital games (and that’s just my EU account), so space for new stuff is a constant issue. I never delete my fist-party games or my favourite indies. You know, the Cuphead’s, Ori’s and Hollow Knight’s of this world. Other than that, I’m afraid to say that nothing’s safe from the chop.

@Olliemar28 Take your time and soak in every glorious minute of Astro’s Playroom, Ollie. It’s the best platformer since Odyssey, 3D or otherwise! I still need to mop up five or six of the collectibles to pop the platinum, so I may dive back in this weekend.

My eldest is coming over today, so on Switch, I’ll be playing MK8D with both my daughters. I may even let them win for once! 😇

Re: Talking Point: Do You Want To See More Apple Arcade Games On Switch?

The_Pixel_King

@nessisonett Agreed, Clap Hanz Golf is excellent. It plays even better with a Backbone controller. As do most Apple Arcade games, to be fair. I highly recommend anyone picking one up. My iPhone 12 (Pro Max) in the Backbone feels way better in the hands than even the Switch. That’s feels better, I’m not saying it is better! 😉

@Krull Thank you! At least some people here are mature and sensible. I really don’t understand all these people suggesting everything on mobile is nothing but pure trash. In fact, there are some truly outstanding games on mobile. Just like any other platform. You’re absolutely right, these people are snobs and missing out on fantastic experiences just to spite their own faces. I really can’t stand that kind of attitude.
