UK physical chart data is now in for the week ending 29th May, revealing that Miitopia has fallen to ninth spot in its second week on sale.
According to GamesIndustry.biz, the RPG's physical sales fell by 45% week-on-week, leaving it a little shy of the chart's top spots this time around. In total, four Switch exclusives made their way into the top ten, with Animal Crossing: New Horizons leading the pack.
On the whole, though, it was PlayStation's turn to shine. Thanks to a number of discounts at retail, games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales and The Last of Us: Part 2 saw much-improved sales this week.
Here's a look at this week's top ten all formats chart:
Last Week | This Week | Title |
---|---|---|
4 | 1 | Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales |
- | 2 | Biomutant |
- | 3 | The Last of Us: Part 2 |
1 | 4 | Resident Evil Village |
16 | 5 | Assassin's Creed Valhalla |
5 | 6 | Animal Crossing: New Horizons |
8 | 7 | Mario Kart 8 Deluxe |
13 | 8 | FIFA 21 |
2 | 9 | Miitopia |
6 | 10 | Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury |

45% week-on-week drop is actually not too bad. Nice mix there in the Top10, healthy to see
Aww man. Poor Miitopia
Alternatively, Miitopia falls to ninth because it's not a very good game.
We haven't seen the last of the Miis. A healthy top 10 this week, despite the heavy discounts.
@Mountain_Man It's actually quite good.
@Peteykins Yes, it looks like that. But the game is actually quite deep and funny. And really good as well.
Eh, I found Miitopia (3DS version, at least; haven't bought the Switch version yet) to be amazing, but as long as it's still selling that's what matters the most to me.
Poor Trashstation, imagine have to make discount in order to beat games like Miitopia in a stupid chart.
Nice!
Let's hope we don't see trash like this in the top ten and resources given for quality games.
Well good riddance.
@Peteykins @Mountain_Man @harouhiko I meant you kinda have points but Miitopia is actually a really good game. Not the best and probably overpriced at $50, but it's a very good game.
And besides, wait until you hear about Biomutant.
@AmplifyMJ I was just thinking the exact same thing. Love to see a nice Nintendo/PlayStation mix of software sales. Very healthy. It’ll be interesting to see how Microsoft do when their Series X/S exclusives eventually start to release… whenever that may be!
@CorvoRevo probably has more to do with a big drop of PS5s into the UK last week, as MM wasn't discounted much. And trashstation? 🤣🤣🤣. And they say Sony and MS fans are toxic.
@The_Pixel_King I agree, it's healthy for the industry if all 3 are doing well. But I wonder if MS games will chart that high, because they want all their players signed up to GP where the games will be available from day one?
@Mountain_Man
i'm actually enjoying it. its very relaxing and stress-less, which cant be said for most games. amazing how many people judge a book by its cover!
but its no surprise its dropped, i expect it would drop out of the top ten. most games unless really big titles drop quickly, by your logic mass effect remastered should be absolute awful as its no even in the top ten!
I think Miitopia is great. Myself, my wife and two children have really enjoyed sitting down to play it together. Fingers crossed we see more games like this alongside the usual Zelda's, Mario's etc we also enjoy.
@CorvoRevo Nice attitude, buddy. Real mature.
I don't think it's just about discounts but also the fact there was PS5 stock last week. PS5 + Miles Morales is the most popular PS5 bundle.
Sony must be trying to get more stable stock in time for Ratchet & Clank releasing June 11th.
@The_Pixel_King Thank you sony-fanboy, i do my best.
Anyone dismissing Miitopia clearly never had the intention to give it a chance. I mean, people dismissed the original for being a 3DS game rather than a Switch game. Now everyone's dismissing it for being a port. Make up your minds! (price aside)
Also, goddammit UK! You lost your dignity again. Stop encouraging FIFA.
@CorvoRevo Sony fanboy? Haha, I’m a fan of all consoles, even the ones I don’t own. Then again, I’m an adult. Only goes to show how many unsavoury, closed-minded weirdo’s that pop up in the NL comments. Though the same can be said for Push Square, too. Such an ugly trait.
@The_Pixel_King bla, bla, bla. Yeah, sure, grown adult fanboy, as you say.
Anyway, this is a NINTENDO site. Just saying.
People lament the rudimentary nature of Miitopia as an RPG... but it's still the first game I've ever played that allows me to use a team of "Notable Pornographic Film Stars of the 1970's." That counts for something, imo.
I played the demo and that was enough for me - and my children. I actually enjoyed creating the Mii characters with them, but once that novelty wore off they got bored of the actual game play very quickly.
@LameUsername Thank you. It’s reassuring to know that there is a proportion of mature readers on this site (and Push Square). I mean, I love Wind Waker, but it’s funny that his avatar is a child version of Link!
@The_Pixel_King you won't see many Microsoft exclusives high on a sales chart because most people get to play it Day 1 as part of Gamepass. Halo Infinite sales will unlikely hit the top 10 for example
@LameUsername
Totally agree just seems a horrid person , most of there posts are the same, most of us are mature enough to appreciated other consoles and talk about it in a mature manner and don't spit out our dummys.
Really gives people the idea that Nintendo fans are all a bunch of immature man babies.
shows you the difference berween nintendo fans and sony fans. switch owners are willing to pay full price for quality games. sony fans are not.
@suikoden "by your logic mass effect remastered should be absolute awful as its no even in the top ten!"
I would not necessarily be inclined to disagree. By all accounts, Mass Effect is a ridiculously overrated series of games.
People arguing over Miitopia 😂 More controversial to me is that Animal Crossing is still up there! I think I over estimated Animal Crossing based on previous games but going into Miitopia having never played before, I'm really enjoying it, far more than I did AC and it was cheaper.
@tntswitchfan68 I mean atleast Sony understands the concept of sales and is willing to regularly lower the price for first party games. Not everyone has the fund to spend full price on a game.
Good. I hope it is not successful enough for Nintendo to think we'll pay for low-effort $50 3DS ports
@tntswitchfan68 You mean Nintendo fans are willing to pay full price for lazy WII U/ WiI ports while Sony fans won’t pay full price for really old stuff? Looks like Sony fans are being smart here.
@CorvoRevo Oh man you are salty lmao. Please grow up thanks.
Please don't worry Nintendo fans, we will bounce back next week. Nintendo got this competition in the bag. 😁✌
Miitopia is probably one of the worse ports they could of chosen plus unlike wiiu ports that didnt have a big user base to sell to originally, its a 3ds port which had potentialy over 80million active user base at the time of its original release so most Nintendo players have already played this game
Honestly, I think people are just glad that Miis are back. I haven't got it but it does look quite good and unique a RPG as well (and lets not forget the customisation features...).
Nintendoomed.
xD
this list is good though.
@StarMetroid nah, its more simple just to block people like you.
@CorvoRevo Haha man you are funny. Thanks for the laugh little dude.
Mario Kart is always on the chart.
Let's hope for Mario Kart 9 with some new features from mario kart tour added.
Since Sony is randomly relevant here, I'm gonna take the opportunity to complain about the $70 price tag. Now I gotta wait for a sale just to pay normal price for a game...a year later. I hope Nintendo doesn't get any ideas here...
@UltimateOtaku91
Miitopia sold less than most of the Wii U games that were ported to Switch.
@Sjmaster Well, that cheats out the people who bought it first. And, Sony games don't make as much as Nintendo games. Nintendo doesn't have to go to PC. Nintendo pays its employees better than Sony. Nintendo also gives its employees better benefits. I don't mind paying more for that.
@StarMetroid The No. They hurt the developers. You may not care, but when games are sold at a deep cut, the devs get less money from the sale. The only thing deep cuts do is hurt the devs. That doesn't sound too smart. Also, Sony isn't dropping the prices on PS5 as much now. Sooooooo
@StarMetroid Xenoblade Chronicles DE was not a lazy port. Lol
@Sjmaster whose games do not make as much. Also, Sony has said they will not lower PS5 game prices like they did for the PS4.
@tntswitchfan68 Mario 3D all stars definitely was.
@michellelynn0976 Developers being hurt is not my concern. Thanks for playing.
@StarMetroid Thanks for showing how selfish and shallow people like you are. Also, without the devs, you wouldn't get any games. Grow up and get a life.
@michellelynn0976 Projection. You are the one who should grow up and get a life. I have no obligation to care about other people. Sorry that my opinion offends you.
@StarMetroid then, why should they care about you complaining about how much a game cost. Yes, grow up and get a life. Drops mic.
@michellelynn0976 I haven’t complained about how much a game cost. The jokes on you. Grow up and get a life thanks.
@StarMetroid Yeah you have. Lol Nice projection. Grow up and get a life.
@michellelynn0976 No I haven’t. Grow up and get a life.
@StarMetroid Yeah, you have. Geez.
@michellelynn0976 Nope.
@StarMetroid Yep.
@michellelynn0976 Nope. I am done wasting with you. Bye.
@StarMetroid Yep you have. Goodbye.
@michellelynn0976 Nope. Goodbye
@StarMetroid Yep. Goodbye.
@michellelynn0976 No. Goodbye.
@StarMetroid Yes. Goodbye.
@michellelynn0976 Nope goodbye.
@StarMetroid Really? Lol Yep. Goodbye. How many times are you gonna lie about being done? Lol
