Ah, I used the dual blades in my hour or two with the demo. This was my first ever time playing a MH game. I loved it, and plan on buying the full game, but was I , you know, doing it wrong?

@Clyde_Radcliffe I was referring to smaller, first-party eShop exclusives from Nintendo. Something we (well, I) needed before the pandemic started.

@scannerdarkly7 Trust me, it’s all much, much better in motion. I wasn’t initially sold on it from screenshots or trailers, but it plays beautifully, at which point everything just comes together rather wonderfully. It really does.

@SalvorHardin Yep, where’s Pullblox (Pushmo) for example? Even a Pullblox World port would be fine with me. Give us more smaller eShop games, Nintendo. Oh and the big AAA’s, too! 😉

@Snatcher Do it, man. Dead Cells is without a doubt my favourite indie game of all time. When you get into the meat of it, it really is that good.

@Taekw0ndud Never played a Hitman game. Well, other than the ten minutes of the Cloud Version’s trial on Switch. Obviously didn’t get to taste enough of the gameplay, but much like you, if I do end up buying it at some point, it’ll be on my PS5. When it eventually arrives, that is! It’s due at the back end of March, apparently.

@brunojenso Me too. I do enjoy a good on-rails shooter from time to time. May have to check Redout, erm.. out. With my backlog what it is though, probably in a sale. Thanks for the heads up!

I have to say that Olija was a particularly nice surprise. It’s a very good cinematic platformer with fantastic combat and pixel art visuals.

Been playing the Immortals: Fenyx Rising demo this weekend. What a surprise! I’ll definitely be picking up the full game very soon.

@Abes3 Me too! I put over 60 hours into 3D World on Wii U, but Bowser’s Fury or no Bowser’s Fury, I was always going to buy it again on Switch.

I played Super Mario World for a two or three hours on NSO last night, which, for me, only solidified it as the finest 2D Mario game of all time. No question about it. Unlike the still excellent SMB3, to look at World, a layman could mistake it as a brand new game.

@carlos82 I agree. Anytime a commenter on here mentions inflated prices, you get another bunch race in to defend Nintendo’s often inflated prices. I just don’t get it. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve bought pretty much every first party game and tons of third party and indies at inflated prices, but I’d still never actually defend Nintendo for charging the earth, and particularly their stingy sale discounts.

@Silly_G I disagree. Like many people these days, I only buy digital, and having just 32GB of memory is just ridiculous. Sure, I can buy extra memory, but with Switch 'only' using expensive SD cards, I shouldn’t have to be forced to spend even more cash within a couple months of the systems release. It’s not like the old days, when digital games were in the minority.

I’ve had my hands on Olija for a while now. Trust me guys, if you like cinematic platformers, you’ll love this one, it’s absolutely ace!

Other than that, I’ll be picking up Cyber Shadow in the coming days for sure.

@E1000 I’m about 200 hours into Dead Cells and have to agree that it’s the better game. But not by much.

Very well deserved if you ask me. Hades is a blast and really pushes Dead Cells all the way as best roguelike on Switch.

@Yosher That would be awesome! I’d love for Matt Thorson to add it into the console version. Heck, I’d even hand over hard cash (or, you know, just use up some eShop credit) for a standalone Switch release of both PICO games!

@iSmokeWii Agreed.. on both counts! Probably my favourite ever indie sound track. Though I do love Jim Guthrie’s work on Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, too. Played it several times way back when it first released on iPad. I bought the Switch version too, but never got round to playing it. I really must get round to it at some point.

I absolutely adore Celeste in both regular and PICO forms. If anyone is up for the ultimate challenge, try playing the original PICO Celeste on your phone with touchscreen controls! I’ve done it, so I can assure you it is possible!

Never played a Monster Hunter game before, but I thought I’d give the Rise demo a quick try before – thinking I’d – delete it. But to my complete surprise, I absolutely LOVED it. Day one for me now!

I 100%’ed 3D World on Wii U, but I’ll likely still finish the main campaign before diving into Bowser’s Fury. I’d just feel weird otherwise. Either way, I’ve preordered the game on the eShop and I’m raring to go!

Like cinematic platformers? Buy this game! That is all I can say at this point.

If I buy Hitman 3, it’ll be on PS4 or my preordered PS5 (which arrives in March), but I’ll certainly try the tester on Switch later today. If I like it, I’ll get it on PlayStation as I’ve never played a Hitman game before... unless you count Hitman GO on PS Vita! 😛

Nice! Scott Pilgrim vs The World just got an update, too. Don’t know what it does though. Fixes multiplayer issues, hopefully!

For those who’ve not yet played it, please take it from someone who’s put in over 100 hours into Dead Cells on Switch – whatever you do, don’t miss out on the chance to play this trial next week!

3D World on Switch just keeps getting more and more essential. Absolutely can’t wait for 12th of February. Bring it on, I say.

@Okapi Just checked for you. The whole game comes in at 6.6GB with the update portion being 1.8GB.

I really can’t wait to try the new Bowser’s Fury expansion. And yet, despite playing the original 3D World to 100% completion on Wii U, I’ll still likely finish the main campaign before jumping into the new content. Yep, I’m clearly strange, I know 🤷‍♂️
