@NinChocolate "You may not be blamed for wanting a work-life balance at all times, but then you’re probably not going to also become a legend in your field, as that typically requires an obsession to your work, where come 5 o’clock you’re only just warmed up. It really takes a madness approach, history has shown."

Re: Early Impressions Of The Pokémon Detective Pikachu Movie Are Amazingly Positive

@Kalmaro "I don't trust reviewers. I still remember what they said about Captain Marvel."

I enjoyed Captain Marvel, but Black Panther? Gosh that was corny. Possibly the worst film in the MCU but it seemed to have such goodwill behind it. Possibly because of how African Americans are treated in America it was seen as a celebration of African culture, which is cool and needed. But as a movie? I thought it stank. Detective Pikachu looks good from what I've seen. I'm optimistic about it, regardless of what the famous talking heads are saying about it.

Re: A Gorgeous 3D Kirby Game Is Now Playable On PS4 Thanks To Dreams

@MrBlacky "This is an empty, generic landscape, where Kirby is running and flying (with very odd animations) around. Where exactly is this "gorgeous"? 🤔"

Agree 100%. This looks like an ugly tech demo to me. It has absolutely no character at all. Sort of reminds me of the Unreal Engine remakes of Ocarina Of Time - it's like someone upped the polygon count and lighting detail but simultaneously sucked all of the life and soul out of the original.

Re: Feature: 10 Games We’d Like To See Come To Labo VR

The_Mysteron

It's my belief that if Labo VR succeeds, we could very well see a Switch pro with improved specs for VR and a dedicated non-cardboard headset. I'm totally intrigued by Labo VR and although the variety kit lost its appeal after a few weeks, my kids and I still had a lot of fun building the kits.

@Heavyarms55 I agree with what you are saying about artificial difficulty, but you cannot say that Mega Man, Shinobi, Outrun, Punch Out and other challenging games of the 8 and 16 Bit generations are difficult due to poor design. The reduction in difficulty has been a measurable and conscious effort on the part of developers to ensure that the player gets to see all or most of the content they have created. I enjoy gaming of all flavours now and appreciate the more forgiving tendencies of modern games. I think it has been part of the broadening appeal of gaming which is good for all of us. When a game is difficult these days it is the exception, not the rule. Back when I started this obsession in 1985, Ghouls and Ghosts and Mega Man were my bread and butter. Going back to games from that era now is a humbling experience. To use the common parlance, it makes me want to 'Git Gud' again. 😁

@Heavyarms55 "I've heard this game is BRUTALLY HARD and I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little intimidated."

In my experience, this generation's 'brutally hard' is a retro game's standard difficulty. I may be proven wrong on Cuphead because I haven't played it yet, but I find most modern games to be very low on challenge (and I think that's mostly a good thing)
I love a challenge, but I also love relaxing games too. Most of the games I played as a kid were designed by masochists. 😁

Re: "Green Is The New Black" In Smash Bros. Ultimate's Upcoming Spirit Board Event

@KingBowser86 LOL. I'm not trolling you, or feeling victimized. I'm just pointing out that you are stereotyping our nation as a bunch of drunks. There are a lot of Irish people who don't drink, just like there are a lot of Americans who don't like guns. St. Patrick's Day is not about alcohol for a large amount of people. The holiday has unfortunately become an excuse for many to drink themselves into oblivion, and that's sad to me as an Irish man who chooses not to drink. If you're thinking I'm triggered or a pansy for finding your comment ignorant, that's fine. You have a right to say things that offend other people, and I have a right to call you out on it.

@BAN "Haha! That’s even better than the time I went to Mexico and there was a guy in a very wrong-looking “Bob Esponja” selling Viking helmets on the beach."

You've reminded me of my one night in Tijuana. I woke up the next morning with a whopper tequila hangover and saw a zebra across the street. Just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating, I crossed the street and saw that it was actually a donkey painted with black and white stripes. Its owner was charging 100 pesos (which I think is around 5 dollars) to let you take a picture with it.
