Unfortunately the reality is that easy ports will get the 3rd parties onboard. If the NX doesn't use the same architecture as the next Sony and Microsoft consoles, I think they're making a mistake. To be a big success, NX needs a bucket load of EA, Rockstar, Blizzard etc games at launch or soon after. I still think Nintendo has some of the best software developers in the world, but they can't support a full console catalogue on their own.
This generation of consoles has made me realise that framerate is everything and I think Nintendo has known that for a long, long time. Resolution is just extra gravy, but a buttery smooth framerate actually changes your experience of a game world. I didn't know that Breath Of The Wild had a questionable framerate but they need to sort that out before launch.
@gatorboi352 Yeah, it's just 11 MILLION PEOPLE!!! I'm a big fan of the Gamepad, but I think it's safe to say that this hands-on points to a screen-less controller for NX.
@gatorboi352 You say 'almost everyone' disables the motion controls, but that simply isn't true. According to the developers over 70% of players use motion controls. Also, how would we jump to points on the map without the second screen? You'd have to pause the game (not a great idea in an online shooter)
@gatorboi352 Did you seriously just suggest that Splatoon doesn't utilise the gamepad? I had agreed with some of your previous points, but now you're just talking nonsense.
Miitomo got so boring so quickly. It seems crazy to me that they didn't use a more interesting game than Miitomo Drop to keep people engaged. Seriously, how many Game & Watch or Wario Ware mini games could they have used instead of Drop? It's like Nintendo have no idea of the goldmine they are sitting on.
I have this on my 3DS and it is far and away my most played game (112 hours and counting!) It has possibly the most replay value of any game I have ever owned, and at €15, that is amazing value for money. However, I could only see me buying it on WiiU if it was discounted or had new DLC. The portable aspect is part of the reason I've played it so much.
@AZBros As much as I love Nintendo, I fear they will call it 'Mii X Joybox U' or something lame and cutesy. NX does sound edgy, but when was the last time Nintendo were edgy?
My guess: a streetpass enabled pedometer like the one used for Wii fit U. Or a Nintendo mobile phone with analog sticks and a robust but slim clam shell design. A Nintendo 3GS.
@ tealovertoma Nintendo is far from poor...dunno where you got that idea from On the subject of this article...I think online play is over-rated. I much rather some face to face banter. Now, I agree that as an option, it is nice to have online, but not at the cost of nicer graphics and earlier release dates. The 3DS needs more AAA games now if it's to get a proper foothold before the Vita comes along...that thing looks sweet!
PS: I love my 3DS, never once regretted my day 1 purchase and believe the DSlite to be the greatest games console ever made.
Like the 7 but it's the same font on the mariokart text as they used for MarioKart DS. It's like when Playstation 3 used the same font as Spiderman...it kind of cheapens it when you re-hash a font, no?

Don't let it aggravate you. The game isn't even finished yet.
